One Known Ebola Case Left In Guinea After Girl’s Discharge

A dedicated Ebola clinic was treating Guinea’s only known case of the virus on Thursday after the recovery of a girl diagnosed with the disease, the charity running the facility said.

The Alliance For International Medical Action (ALIMA) runs the country’s sole treatment centre in the southern city of Nzerekore, where it has handled six of the 10 confirmed cases recorded since the outbreak was officially declared over in December.

“(Of) six confirmed cases, four have died, one was discharged after recovery and the sixth is still here,” said ALIMA emergency co-ordinator Solenne Barbe.

Barbe attributed the high mortality rate to the fact that the recent patients arrived too late to be treated with a good chance of survival.

The newest confirmed case is an elderly man from Macenta prefecture to the north of Nzerekore, she said, thought to be a healer visited by one of the dead while still alive and infected with the virus.

Brussels Suicide Attack Brother Left Desperate Will

Belgian prosecutors said Wednesday that two brothers carried out suicide attacks at Brussels airport and on a metro train, with one of them leaving a desperate will in a trash can saying he did not know what do any more.

Ibrahim El Bakraoui blew himself up in the check-in hall of Zaventem airport while Khalid El Bakraoui attacked a metro train at Maalbeek station near the EU headquarters, Frederic van Leeuw told a news conference.

Prosecutors said the confirmed toll from the two attacks was 31 dead and 270 wounded.

Van Leeuw said Bakraoui’s “will” said he was “in a rush”, and “I don’t know what to do … hunted everywhere … no longer safe”, adding that “I don’t want to end up in a cell next to him”.

That appeared to be a reference to Paris attacks suspect Salah Abdeslam, who is reportedly linked to Bakraoui, and who is in custody in Belgium after being captured last week.

The computer on which Ibrahim wrote the will was dumped in a trash can in the same street in the Brussels district of Schaarbeek where investigators found an unexploded bomb, an Islamic State group flag and bomb-making materials on Tuesday night.

Prosecutors confirmed that they had found 15 kilos (33 pounds) of TATP high explosive in the flat.

They also found chemicals including 150 litres of acetone, 30 litres of liquid oxygen, detonators, a suitcase full of nails and other bomb-making equipment including plastic trays, tools and ventilator.

A third man, who was filmed with Ibrahim and a second unidentified suicide bomber and who fled the scene without detonating his device, remains on the run, prosecutors said.

“The third man is on the run; he left his bag with the biggest bomb in it, which exploded later because it was so unstable. This third person remains unidentified and is still being looked for,” he said.

No Stone Will Be Left Unturned For Safe Return Of Chibok Girls– FG

The Federal government on Tuesday lamented that the massive looting of public funds perpetrated by some officials of government under the immediate past administration is seriously affecting the operations of government, just as it assured that no stone will be left unturned in ensuring the safe return of the Chibok girls. Consequently, the government has vowed that nobody, among those who contributed to the present mess that Nigeria currently finds herself, will go unpunished.

The Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed stated this on Tuesday at a press conference in Abuja. The Minister equally said that the government is seriously concerned about the safe return of the over 200 secondary school girls kidnapped by the Boko Haram terrorists in Borno State over 600 days ago. Alhaji Mohammed thus assured that no stone will be left unturned by the soldiers in the North Eastern part of the country to ensure that the kidnapped girls are rescued and returned safely to their people. According to him, “the military is leaving no stone unturned to get them (the Chibok girls).

The government is very concerned about the safe return of the Chibok girls. There are so many things that the soldiers are doing underground that cannot be exposed to the public. For security reason, we can not disclose certain information. On the issue of the ongoing agitation for Biafra Republic by some people in the South Eastern part of the country, Alhaji Mohammed pointed out that the Federal government was doing everything to tame the agitation. The Minister added however that such agitation has to be subtle.

Why I Left ‘FABLife’ Daytime Talk Show- Tyra Banks

Tyra Banks is focusing her attention on dominating another market in the beauty industry, and if that means leaving a certain television program behind to do so, then so be it.

The supermodel announced that she’s departing from her co-hosting duties on theFABLife daytime talk show to focus all of her time and energy on building her Tyra Beauty empire. The makeup line was launched a few years ago, and was even featured on Banks’ long-standing competition show, America’s Next Top Model.

In an interview with USA Today, Banks revealed the reason why she made this decision was due to the fact that FABLife “competed for my time in a way that you cannot run a business and do a daytime talk show. And I thought I could. And I can’t.”

Rumors were swirling that there was a rift between Banks and fellow supermodel Chrissy Teigen, which was completely false. Teigen even took to her Twitter account to publish her sentiments on the matter. “I dunno if you guys know how bosses work but if Tyra and I were fighting as hard as you’re saying, I would be the one off the show.”

How Online Sale Shopping Left 1 Man With Broken Penis

Single’s Day is a national holiday held in China for young people to celebrate their singledom, because why not?! It’s held on Nov. 11 also, because all those ones are to represent folks going solo — one isn’t the loneliest number in this sense.

In recent years, it has become an online shopping shitshow also; big box e-tailer Alibaba, for example, saw over $14 billion worth of transactions made on the day this year.

And here is a story of pain worse than the pain you feel when you miss out on the special $14 waffle iron Black Friday deal on Amazon.com because your browser is too damn slow for that shit. Shanghaiist reports (via The Cut) on a couple caught mid-sexytimes the moment this year’s Single Day sales went live. Thanks to an alarm set on her phone, the lady in question literally “rolled off” her guy to get to her bargains in a frenzy, and somehow fractured his penis in the process. The extent of his injury was not fully apparent (How?!) until later the day, when the peen became “purple and swollen,” like an eggplant emoji.

Aviation Ministry Funding Stopped After Oduah Left- Perm. Sec.

The Senate ad hoc Committee on Aviation which is chaired by Rabiu Kwankwaso (APC-Kano State) Tuesday, held a public hearing on Tuesday.

Heads of parastatals and other officials of the Ministry of Aviation led by the Permanent Secretary, Binta Bello, attended the hearing at the National Assembly.

Ms. Bello lamented the challenge of funding which she said was affecting the Nigerian aviation sector, particularly infrastructure at various airports.

Ms. Bello said, “We have financial constraints. Budgetary provision can never finance the projects that were opening up in all the airports in Nigeria.”

She hailed the remodeling of the airports under former Minister of Aviation, now Senator, Stella Oduah.
Ms. Bello, however, said the projects were stalled as funding for the projects stopped immediately Ms. Oduah was removed.

“She (Oduah) started a very good job. Every airport was opened up. Well she’s sitting here. She may tell us where she got the funds. But records showed she got the money from intervention funds.

“Since she left, these intervention funds stopped. We depend on budget. On capital project, we got very little amount of money which can in no way take care of over 150 projects in our airports.”

Why We Left ISIS, Defectors Open Up

Almost 60 Islamic State defectors have spoken out against the caliphate and Western governments should do more to incentivize former fighters to speak out, according to a new report by the International Center for the Study for Radicalization.

According to the New York Times, about 20,000 foreigners have joined jihadist groups in the Middle East over the last two years. About a quarter of those are Europeans, and it is estimated that between 25% and 40% have gone back to Europe.

The new report says that most of the defectors have gone into hiding to escape reprisal from ISIS but also to avoid imprisonment in the countries to which they are returning. According to the report, 58 defectors from Europe and Australia have now publicly spoken about their experience.

In the reasons listed as to why they became disenchanted with the jihadist group, most defectors mention the violence toward other Muslims. Two defectors who left after finding out they had been selected to be suicide bombers told the BBC that the “brutality of IS terrifies everyone,” referring to ISIS (aka Islamic State, IS, ISIL, and Daesh).

A Syrian man who had initially joined a rebel group fighting the Assad regime joined ISIS when his whole tribe pledged allegiance. He told the BBC that the first stage of the ISIS indoctrination was a course on the Sharia.

“Not the principles of Islam, the principles of the Islamic State,” the man said. “So they teach you the Islam they want.”

He said ISIS tactics boiled down to this “If you’re against me, then you’ll be killed. If you’re with me, you work with me. You submit to my will and obey me, under my power in all matters.”
