Desiigner Is Being Sued For $500k Over Allegedly Crashing A Rented Ferrari

Desiigner’ pockets are about to be a little lighter, because he’s being sued for damaging a rented Ferrari back in June. Two of his friends, who have also been named in the lawsuit, allegedly gave the rapper permission to drive the car, however, he crashed it and now the rental company is suing for $500,000!

The 2014 Ferrari is valued at $220k, but they want $500k, because they claim that they’re losing out on as much as $1,599 per day if they were able to rent it.

According to TMZ, “The docs also included a cryptic tweet, supposedly from Desiigner, saying, “If you have a luxury car you better know how to drive.” The rental company thinks it’s a confession, but we checked and the account doesn’t look like it belongs to Desiigner.”

A re for Desiigner tells TMZ, “This is the first that Desiigner or his team have heard about this lawsuit. The minute he has had a chance to consult with his attorney, his managers or his attorney will respond.”

Kanye West Is Being Fed In Hospital Bed, Sources Reveal Rapper’s Current State

As previously reported, the “Fade” rapper, 39, was admitted to Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles on Monday, November 21, after he reportedly started behaving “erratically” while at his personal trainer’s home. The health scare came hours after West canceled the remainder of his Saint Pablo Tourfollowing a bizarre 15-minute rant against Beyoncé, Jay Z and Hillary Clinton at a Sacramento concert.

Kim Kardashian is nursing Kanye West back to health. The reality star has been sleeping by her husband’s side and helping to feed him while he’s in the hospital for exhaustion, a source close to the rapper exclusively tells Us Weekly.

The Keeping Up With the Kardashians star’s nurturing behavior echoes that of her sister Khloé Kardashian, who stuck by her ex Lamar Odom‘s side as he recovered from a near fatal drug overdose last year. “All the Kardashian women stick by their men,” the source notes.

Kim has shown nothing but support for her hubby of two years, and even spent Thanksgiving in the hospital with him. “Kim wouldn’t leave his side except to see the kids,” the source tells Us, referring to the couple’s children, North, 3, and Saint, 11 months. “She’s been at the hospital all the time. Kim has been keeping a very close watch on him and not letting people disturb him. All kinds of people have called and sent flowers, but she’s being very careful about not letting him get wound up and making sure he rests and recovers.

Man Sues Casino For Giving Him Free Drinks After Being Arrested For Beating His Girlfriend

Pennsylvania man who spent four years in prison for beating his girlfriend at the Sands Casino Resort Bethlehem is suing the casino for allegedly serving him too many free drinks before the assault.

Nicholas Mullins, 31, is still on probation for the January 2012 assault. The casino contends Mullin alone is to blame for beating Caitlin Shields, of Pottsville, so badly that her brain swelled and she nearly died.

But Mullins claims he’s the long-term victim because he wound up in prison and can’t find a job as a result of his conviction —not to mention being kneed in the groin and having his nose broken during the argument, according to his attorney, Stuart Niemtzow.

“His life is the one that got ruined here,” Niemtzow said.

A 31-year-old Navy veteran, Mullins has claimed to have post-traumatic stress disorder and pleaded guilty to aggravated assault in June 2012. He contends the Sands should have known he drank to the point of having alcohol poisoning at another casino months before and that his girlfriend was also allowed to drink, even though Niemtzow contends Sands security knew she was on probation for drunken driving at the time.

Mullins is suing the Dram Shop Act, a law on the books in Pennsylvania and 37 other states. It holds that businesses selling alcohol to visibly intoxicated people can be held liable for injuries they suffer as a result. Mullinswas given at least 15 drinks before he and Shields returned to their room and got into a fight, Niemtzow said.

A Northampton County jury was picked to hear Mullins’ lawsuit Monday, before which Common Pleas Judge Paula Roscioli expressed “shock” at Mullins’ claim.

Shields “chooses not to file the suit against the Sands, but the man who ended up hitting her and causing her injuries, he wants to be compensated,” Roscioli said.

Mullins told police Shields attacked him after he lost $800, and contends he only slapped her in self-defense. But a doctor concluded Shields’ head trauma was consistent with being punched repeatedly, police said. She wasn’t criminally charged.

SHAME: Rape Videos Are Being Sold In India

In this industrial northern state, you can buy footage of a woman being raped for the price of a cheap meal.

Al Jazeera found several videos that appeared to depict rape for sale across the state. They cost from Rs 20 to Rs 200 (30 cents to $3) and are transmitted to a customer’s mobile phone in a matter of seconds.

The faces of the women are visible in these films. Their voices are clear. The attacks on them are brutal.

In Meerut, a city in western Uttar Pradesh, an area mostly known for the manufacturing of sporting goods, local contacts indicated that the movie files, marketed as “rape videos”, were available in nearby villages.

With shopkeepers cautious about selling them to non-locals, one local man in the village of Incholi – roughly 15km from Meerut – agreed to buy one and show it to Al Jazeera.

Shahnawaz, who declined to use his real name, said that the videos are not generally made with the intention of being sold on the open market. Still, he’s heard a lot about them.

“They make it to blackmail the victims [of rape] … so that they don’t go and file a complaint in the nearest police station,” Shawnawaz explained.

Sometimes, he said, the videos are stolen from the perpetrator’s phone when he takes his device to a shop for repairs. The stolen footage is them sold to anyone who asks for it.

Most shopkeepers are careful to sell the videos only to locals, and generally deny any knowledge of them. Some, however, agreed to share explicit videos, including rape clips, with Al Jazeera.

One of them admitted that he had many such “local films”, as the videos are euphemistically referred to. There are watchwords in the trade – akin to a secret handshake – that let the sellers know that a customer seeks rape videos – as opposed to other pornography, which the kiosks also sell.

Once a rape video reaches one dealer, it spreads like wildfire, through applications such as WhatsApp, to other parts of the country. In fact, “WhatsApp sex videos” is one term used for rape videos in this part of the country.

In the village of Saharanpur in western Uttar Pradesh, one man who readily admitted that he frequently purchases pornography – particularly videos of rape – told Al Jazeera that he buys them from other nearby villages.

The videos he buys at shops and kiosks come mainly from other customers who sell the footage to the shopkeepers, he explained. He has a collection of these films on his laptop and described the rape footage as “pornography”.

He watches the videos, he said, because they give him “peace of mind”.

I Am Being Persecuted, Detained Badeh Cries Out (READ FULL STATEMENT)

Nigeria’s former defence chief, Alex Badeh, has denied allegations by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, that he was involved in stealing money meant for purchase of arms, describing his current detention by the EFCC as “persecution”.

Mr. Badeh, a former Air Chief Marshal, who has been detained by the EFCC for more than three weeks, said in a statement Thursday that he was being subjected to “media trial” for no just cause.

Mr. Badeh said despite his repeated assurances to the EFCC that he would fully cooperate with any investigations, he was being treated unfairly and his rights were violated by a country he fought so hard to defend against Boko Haram.

Read his full statement:

It has been widely reported in the news that I am being investigated over the $2.1 Billion Arms deal but that is not true. I was not part of Dasuki gate.

The claim that 5 properties were acquired for me from the $2.1billion funds is also false.

I was Chief of Air staff from Oct 2012 to January 2014 and then appointed CDS. During my time serving as the CDS, funds for weapons were directly released to the Chief of Air staff, army staff and naval staff and not to me. I had no control over the funds and yet I am being accused of embezzling weapons funds.

The office of the CDS had no operational control of the services and had nothing to do with their spending.

The EFCC’s claim that I received $800,000 from my Director of Finance and accounts is untrue. I did not receive such money from the erstwhile DFA. If he claims to have given me money, where is the proof? Was it paid into my account? Did I sign for it?

In the case of the properties, if they claim the properties are mine and were obtained illegally through proxies then they should go to the court and get an order of forfeiture rather than trying to insist I am the owner of the properties.

It is unfortunate that the media has unwittingly allowed itself to be used by interested parties to become judge jury and executioner in my case.

Even when they claimed Billions were found in accounts of wives of some past Air Force officers, none was found with my family yet EFCC keeps generalizing and making it look like my family is involved too.

It is rather unfortunate that the nation which I fought so hard within my means to defend against Boko Haram insurgents cannot guarantee my fundamental human rights.

During my time as the CDS, lives of both soldiers and civilians were lost. Territories were lost. We fought to regain our nation’s territorial integrity and the insurgents pushed back.

I LOST MY PERSONAL HOUSE AND HOSPITAL IN DEFENCE OF MY FATHERLAND (A hospital which I built many years ago and was equally used in the treatment of injured soldiers). NOW I AM LOSING MY FREEDOM TO THE SAME FATHERLAND THAT I FOUGHT SO HARD TO DEFEND

During the 2014 Boko haram attack on my village Vimtim, it was widely reported in the media that I sent a helicopter to evacuate my parents and relatives. Which parents? I am an orphan, I lost my father in the 70’s and my mother in 2013. My cousin, who lived next to me, was killed during the 2014 attack on my village. So who exactly did I evacuate? It is unfortunate that I didn’t come out to clarify some of these issues when they were reported in the media.

I was detained by The EFCC for 3 weeks and was not charged to court but was given onerous bail conditions by the Commission which I could not meet. A remand warrant was hastily obtained on the 25th February in Lagos as soon as The EFCC was served with a notice for my bail hearing in court by my lawyers. Why detain me for so long and issue such onerous bail conditions when they aren’t ready to charge me to court?

I reported to the EFCC when I was invited and would report anytime I am needed. All I ask for is to be given a fair hearing with the rule of law strictly adhered to.

It is a media trial and I am being persecuted.

Air Chief Marshal A. S. Badeh

Oil Close To Being Found In North East- NNPC

Nigeria may well be on the verge of a significant oil find in the Lake Chad area in North East based on analysis of recent Seismic 3D data generated from the Basin, Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) Dr. Ibe Kachikwu has said.
Dr. Kachikwu revealed this in a presentation to the Petroleum Club, Lagos, over the weekend.
The NNPC boss in the presentation titled, “Ongoing Reforms in the Oil Industry: Impact of NNPC Reforms on the Nigerian Economy,” said that the Corporation was injecting a lot of energy into the effort to ensure success in this regard.
He said, “There are signs from the latest 3D seismic studies that oil may well be very close to being found now in Lake Chad after very many years of trials. I think that this is very key.  It is key both for the geographical balancing of oil production and it is also very key for the purpose of refinery placement in the north in terms of access to crude. I am optimistic that by the end of the year we should be able to announce something major on this,” the GMD said.
Dr. Kachikwu noted that in driving and developing Nigeria’s oil and gas sector, certain key areas of urgent intervention have been identified.
They are: running production acreages with transparent and profitable partnerships to bridge capacity and funding gaps; encourage investment inflow into Nigeria’s oil and gas industry; engagement with local communities and driving regulation to develop the sector income, among others.
Providing specifics on the intervention targets, Dr. Kachikwu stated that the NNPC is projecting the inflow of $20 billion in 2016 to enable the Corporation fund major projects and improve its bottom line going forward.
