Solange was most recently at “Love On Louisiana” hosted by Essence, a tribute to hometown heroes that celebrated the resilience of the Baton Rouge community with Tina Knowles-Lawson, Solange Knowles, and Kelly Rowland at the Baton Rouge River Center. Solange dressed for the important occasion in a pastel, pale purple cropped trench with a deeper purple cardigan underneath, and the ensemble has us feeling all sorts of #stylegoals.

On Saturday night, Solange Knowles gave her first televised performance of music from her latest studio album A Seat at the Table. Appearing on Saturday Night Live, the younger Knowles made quite an impression on social media for the look she chose.
Weeks before her performance, Solange uploaded a mood board of sorts to Instagram, captioning it “Hero’s.” Among the chosen women on the collage were Diana Ross, the Supremes, Nina Simone and even older sister Beyoncé.
Onstage, those touch points manifested themselves into Solange’s beaded bodysuit and elaborate oversize earrings, custom designed by Erickson Beaman. Underneath the bodysuit, Solange donned an all-white set from La Perla lingerie. Although that look, styled by Jason Rembert, made an impression, it was something else that caught hold on social media.
In addition to the bodysuit, the “Cranes in the Sky” chanteuse wore an elaborate headdress. Social media users were quick to point out what it looked like: a dream catcher.
Instead, the piece was 40-plus hours of work. Shani Crowe not only braided Solange’s hair but also braided and beaded the elaborate piece especially for the performance. Makeup artist Dana Delaney gave the look its final polish with products from Make Up for Ever and Clinique, adding the perfect shine and glimmer to an already-goddesslike look.

Jay Z and Beyonce went to counseling sessions to save their failed marriage 2 years ago, E Entertainment is reporting exclusively.
Their marriage was at the breaking point and they were barely on speaking terms, a source told E! They were forced to make a choice: save the relationship or live separate lives.
“They had been having problems for years,” the source tells E!. “There was a constant commitment issue between them and in the end they were barely speaking. Beyoncé didn’t fully trust Jay and it was hard for her to get past that.”
After Solange Knowles‘ infamous elevator beatdown of Jay Z, the couple released a statement, saying “…families have problems and we’re no different. We love each other and above all we are family. We’ve put this behind us and hope everyone else will do the same.”
But for Beyonce, the elevator incident was the turning point.
“The fact everything became so public, it was embarrassing, and the first time she had to really deal with some of the questions people were asking about her marriage. It changed things. It was a pivotal moment.”
Lemonade was born out of the bitterness of her husband’s ongoing infidelity.
Beyonce buried herself in her work. She lost weight and she lost sleep working day and night on Lemonade, a visual album.
After the movie aired on HBO, fashion designer Rachel Roy took to Instagram and admitted she was the “Becky with the good hair” who led Jay Z astray.
Admits the insider: “It’s true, Rachel and Jay were friends and it wasn’t seen as appropriate by people who knew them.”
“Rachel Roy wanted to defend herself after watching Beyoncé’s Lemonade,” the source said, adding that Roy’s Instagram post was a spur of the moment reaction to the singer’s visual album.
“Bey will never mention any names, but the people who those songs are about know,” said the source, indicating there was more than one Becky servicing Jay Z.
Another insider insists Jay Z was involved in every aspect of making Lemonade.
“Jay was involved in the creation of Lemonade and knew every song Bey was going to release. He knew the lyrics; he knew the implications. He had to approve the songs before release. Jay is a very smart businessman… Bottom line is that they are both really smart and they both saw dollar signs.”
According to another source, “Beyonce is amazed on how everything turned out. She worked day and night on this. She celebrated with family; Jay was by her side. When Beyonce put this album together she was aware of the message she was sending out. She knew that people were going to dissect each word. Beyonce wanted to connect with women’s emotions with this album.”
As for the cheating implications, the source says, “Jay is all about self expression, so he gets it. Beyonce shares music before it’s released with Jay so he can listen and share his thoughts. When it comes to music, they are very in it together and supportive of each other’s craft.”

Beyonce’s daughter Blue Ivy is only three years old but she’s already living quite the adventurous life.
It was another fun-filled day as the 33-year-old Halo singer hit up Griffith Park on Saturday with her toddler and sister Solange among other members of her entourage.
Beyonce and Blue Ivy were having a ball in the playground area where the tiny tot got to play in the sand and search for hidden treasures.

Beyonce didn’t seem to notice her younger sibling’s less than enthusiastic stance, as her eyes were on her pretty child.

In a recent issue of In Touch Weekly, a feature called “Double Creature” compared Solange Knowles to a dog. The reader-submitted blurb reads, “Yorkipoo Jackie is ‘basically twinsies’ with Beyoncé’s sis, says the 5-year-old pup’s owner, Brian Murray Jr. ‘They rock the same hairdo and he’s very loyal to his…’”
The publication likening a woman choosing to wear her hair naturally to a dog has outraged many, calling the association ignorant and racist. “[It’s] a sobering reminder of the resistance some black women face when they choose to rock their natural hair unapologetically,“ Leila Noelliste, the creator of blackgirllonghair.com, writes on the site. She notes that the offensive photo is especially disconcerting considering the positive press attention Knowles received surrounding the afro style the singer wore to her recent wedding.
Patrice Grell Yursik, founder of the blog Afrobella, tells Yahoo Style that while she thinks that the article was an attempt to be cute, it’s actually a total fail. “It’s obviously offensive to compare a woman of color’s natural hair to a dog’s fur,” she says. “Even though this was reader submitted, I think it was ignorant and ill advised of In Touch to publish it.”
In a statement, the magazine explains that they publish a weekly story called “Animal Overload,” including a regular column called “Double Creature.” It insists that the recurring series is meant to be fun and each one incorporates a diverse selection of both people and pets. “In response to recent articles printed, we want to make it clear that there was never any intent to be insensitive and no harm was meant towards anyone.”
Those that choose not to style their hair with relaxers, or in a traditional way, have continuously received negative attention for their look. When Blue Ivy Knowles, Solange’s niece, appeared at the Video Music Awards this summer, the 2-year-old was condemned for having “unkempt” and “dry” hair. During Gabby Douglas’s stint at the London Olympics, critics called the then 16-year-old’s chemically straightened ponytail a supposed failure to properly “represent” the African American community.
But while this continuous disparagement is obviously maddening, Petra, a writer for blackhairinformation.com, notes: “People say crazy stuff all the time about our hair and general appearance, we are used to it, we depend on each other to know what is right, what is mediocre and what is down right wrong to say,”
