Court Grants Bail To Man Who Allegedly Raped 12 Year Old Girl

A Surulere Chief Magistrates’? Court in Lagos on Friday granted bail to a 40-year-old man, Friday James, in the sum of N500,000 for allegedly defiling a 12-year-old girl.

The Chief Magistrate, Mrs Ipaye Nwachukwu, ordered the accused to provide two sureties in like sum.
Nwachukwu said that one of the sureties must be blood relation of the accused while the other must not be a civil servant not below GL-14.

She said that the accused must deposit N100, 000 to the chief registrar’s account, and adjourned the case till Sept. 9 for mention.
James, a resident of No. 15B, Onakoye Str., Sari-Iganmu, Lagos, pleaded not guilty to a one-count charge of defilement.
Prosecutor Anthonia Osanyade told the court that the accused committed the offence at Sari-Iganmu, Lagos, at about 6.00 p.m., on Aug. 20.
Osanyade said that the accused sent the girl to buy N20 pure water for him.
“On her arrival, James dragged her into his room when she stretched her hand to give him his change and forcefully had sex with her,’’ she said.
She said ?the offence contravened Section 137 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2011.

Woman kidnapped and Raped for Nine Months Says her Kidnapper’s Desires Were Fuelled By Porn

Elizabeth Smart, a child rape victim who suffered a horrific nine month campaign of sexual abuse at the hands of her demented kidnapper, has come out publicly to speak about her ordeal with the kidnapper.

Miss Smart who was just 14 when she was snatched from her home in Utah in the USA said the kidnapper/rapist was driven by hardcore pornography which led him to rape her continuously, he also forced her to watch. She also believes that his passion for porn led him to snatch her.

Speaking about her horrific ordeal in an anti-porn campaign video Elizabeth, now 28, said her kidnapper, Brian Mitchell’s passion for porn made things worse for her.

She added that when he watched the videos it “just led to him raping me more”.

Ms Smart was kidnapped by demented Mitchell at the age of 14 when he and his wife Wanda Barzee broke into her home in Utah, USA, and snatched her from her room.
She was then repeatedly raped over a nine month period and was forced to watch sexually explicit films.
Smart has now argued that Mitchell, who was 57, was fuelled by his passion for porn when meted out the horrific abuse.

She said:

“All I know is that pornography made my living hell worse, It just led to him raping me more, more than he already did, which was a lot.

“Looking at pornography wasn’t enough for him. Having sex with his wife after looking at pornography, it wasn’t enough for him. And then it led him to finally going out and kidnapping me. He just always wanted more. I can’t say that he would not have gone out and kidnapped me had he not looked at pornography.”

Ms Smart’s horrific ordeal came to end when a biker alerted police after spotting Mitchell travelling with two people in Utah.

Mitchell is now serving a life sentence for the abuse, his mentally unstable wife Wanda Barzee was sentenced to 15 years for aggravated kidnapping.
The pair were both initially ruled unfit to go on trial because of their mental health.

Mitchell’s defence team argued he was not guilty by reason of insanity. Barzee pleaded guilty.

Early on the morning of September 16, 1995, a friend of my dad’s—a 38- year-old writing teacher named Steve Oliver—picked me up for a trip from Eau Claire to Madison, Wisconsin. That was the beginning of the most horrifying three months of my life. Oliver drove to the Kansas City airport, where he held a concealed knife to my back as we boarded a plane for Houston. There, we stayed in two different seedy hotels before settling into a Days Inn near the airport. That’s where I remained—most of the time locked inside a room— for the next 101 days. And almost every day, my captor forced me to have sex with him.

Human Trafficking Survivor Says She’s Been Raped 43, 200 Times

Karla Jacinto is sitting in a serene garden. She looks at the ordinary sights of flowers and can hear people beyond the garden walls, walking and talking in Mexico City.

She looks straight into my eyes, her voice cracking slightly, as she tells me the number she wants me to remember — 43,200.

By her own estimate, 43,200 is the number of times she was raped after falling into the hands of human traffickers.

She says up to 30 johns a day, seven days a week, for the best part of four years — 43,200.

Christian Teacher Arrested For Having Sex With Underage Female Student Over 40 Times

A Christian Scientist school in Missouri has been hit with a $1million lawsuit accusing the institution of failing to protect students from an employee charged with having sexual intercourse a 16-year-old girl dozens of times and organizing orgies for teens.

According to the complaint filed by the alleged victim’s parents last week, when officials at Principia
– a high school and college for Christian Scientists in St Louis – found out about the alleged sexual abuse, they did little beyond issuing telecommunications director Zachary Retzalff a verbal warning to ‘knock it off’ and ‘cut it out.’, the Mirror reports.

Retzlaff, a 33-year-old widowed father of two young sons, was arrested over the summer and charged with statutory rape.

According to the civil suit reviewed by the St Louis Post-Dispatch, Retzlaff had sex with the 16-year-old female student at The Principia more than 40 times on and off campus between July 2014 and May 2015.

The telecom manager also allegedly introduced the girl to sadomasochism, choking the girl until she passed out before having sex with her.

Retzlaff also allegedly hosted group sex parties with the 16-year-old and other students from the Christian Scientist school.

The parents of the teenager, identified in the complaint as ‘Jane Doe,’ claim that she ran away from home and they believe she is living with Retzlaff and plans to marry him.

Court filings in the case allege that officials at the St Louis school knew Retzlaff had sex with students in the past.

In June, the widower was accused of engaging in sexual activity with a girl younger than 17, and charged with a single count of felony statutory rape. He pleaded not guilty in the criminal case and was released on $25,000 bail.

Prosecutors are now seeking to have Retzlaff remanded to jail because they believe he violated a judge’s order prohibiting him from contacting the victim.

Retzlaff lost his wife and the mother of his children, Juliana, in February 2014. According to the complaint, sometime after her passing, he 16-year-old student began babysitting the couple’s children and cleaning his home.

11 Year Old Raped & Impregnated By Step Father Gives Birth

An 11-year-old girl who was denied an abortion after being raped gave birth Thursday, the culmination of a case that put a spotlight on child rape in this poor South American nation and drew criticism from human rights groups.

Elizabeth Torales, a lawyer for the girl’s mother, told The Associated Press that the minor gave birth to a baby girl via cesarean in a Red Cross hospital in Asuncion, Paraguay’s capital. She said reported there were no complications and both the mother and baby were resting.

“The baby doesn’t yet have a name,” said Torales, who added that her client and the girl’s grandmother had requested custody of the infant.

Hospital director Mario Villalba told reporters outside the hospital that the birth took about 35 minutes. She said the girl would remain in the hospital for three or four days, “like any other patient who has had a cesarean.” She said the minor was currently accompanied by her grandmother, but declined to give more details.

The girl was allegedly raped and impregnated by her stepfather when she was 10. The stepfather has been arrested and is awaiting trial. The girl’s mother has been charged with negligence.

The mother requested an abortion for her daughter, but the government refused to allow it, drawing praise from religious groups but criticism from many human rights organizations, including U.N. officials. Paraguay bans abortion except when a mother’s life is in danger. At the time, the girl was five months pregnant and local health officials said she appeared to be in fine health.

S.A Police Say Murdered Nun, 86, May Have Been Raped

Police in South Africa were on Thursday investigating whether an 86-year-old nun of Austrian origin found murdered had also been raped. The body of Sister Getrud Tiefebacher from the Sacred Heart Home Convent in the village of Ixopo, southwest of Durban, was discovered in her room on Saturday.

Police said her hands were tied with an electric typewriter cord and she had been suffocated with a towel. “It is also suspected that the victim was raped before she was killed,” a statement said. An undisclosed amount of foreign currency was taken from Tiefebacher’s room.

The killing has shocked the small village, which is the setting for Alan Paton’s famous novel Cry the Beloved Country. “Police have not made any arrests in connection with the crime. The search is ongoing,” police spokesman Thulani Zwane said.

Zwane said Tiefebacher came to South Africa 50 years ago and had spent all her time working for the Roman Catholic Church. Regional police commissioner Mmamonnye Ngobeni described the murder as “barbaric”, urging the community to help police arrest the suspect. Rape is common crime in South Africa, with 662,649 cases reported in 2013/14, according to official crime statistics.
