Manny Pacquiao teases Floyd Mayweather rematch.

Boxing icon Manny Pacquiao has teased fans about a possible rematch with Floyd Mayweather, smiling as he gamely showed off a suit with pictures of himself and Mayweather on the lining.

Pacquiao, 37, posted on his social media accounts Monday a photo of himself wearing the suit with his picture on the right side of the coat and Mayweather’s on the left.

“Like my jacket?”, Pacquiao, who was elected to the Philippines Senate in May, captioned the photo.

Pacquiao’s post, which had received 215,000 likes on Facebook by Tuesday, fuelled talk of “Pacquiao-Mayweather 2” which began after he won the World Boxing Organization welterweight title from Jessie Vargas earlier this month.

Mayweather had taken up an invitation from Pacquiao to watch the Filipino multiple world champion’s Las Vegas comeback from ringside.

Pacquiao said after the fight that he was eager to avenge his 2015 loss to Mayweather in the richest fight in history.

“Not only for myself, but the fans of boxing want the rematch, then why not? We can easily talk about that it is not a problem,” Pacquiao said.

Pacquiao’s promoter Bob Arum said last week a rematch was likely.

“I give it 75 percent,” Arum told ESPN.

“Do I know it’s gonna happen? No. Do I know if Floyd wants the fight? No. I know nothing more than the public knows at this point and what I observed.”

Pacquiao’s camp said Tuesday, however, that talk of a rematch could wait.

“Boxing is not yet in his mind right now,” Pacquiao’s media relations chief Aquiles Zonio told AFP. “He’s focusing on his legislative works.

“It will be known by January when will be his next fight and who will be his next opponent.”

Lady Gaga And A Host Of Celebrities Mock Ronda Rousey After She Lost Her Fight

Ronda Rousey, the former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) women’s bantamweight champion, ended her 12-fight winning streak on Saturday when she was defeated by Holly Holm at Etihad Stadium in Melbourne, Australia. Before the fight, she boasted about how she was going to knock Holly out for being disrespectful and 2 sided. But it didn’t end the way she planned it. She had talked about the fight on her IG page. She said:

“Fake a– cheap shotting fake respect fake humility b–ch – “preacher’s daughter” my ass – I see through your fake sweet act now,” she captioned the video. “You’re getting your ass kicked tomorrow, and I’m really going to enjoy the beating I give you #andSTILL.”

However, Holly knocked her out within 59 seconds of the 2nd round.
Rousey, who was briefly unconscious after receiving a kick to the head from Holm approximately 59 seconds into the second round, was transported to a hospital following the fight. According to UFC president Dana White, Rousey’s lip was split in half and had to be sewn back together.
The epic upset caused a stir on the Internet following the match. Gaga was just one of the many celebrities and fans who took to social media to weigh in on Rousey’s first MMA loss.
The singer-turned-actress posted a photo of Holm knocking out Rousey on Instagram on Saturday, captioning it, “THATS WHAT YOU GET FOR NOT TOUCHING GLOVES!”

Rihanna, Floyd Mayweather And Riri’s Duct Tape Goof Around At The BET Awards

So Riri was seen at the beginning of the event with some duct tape, and everyone wondered what it was for. Well, she tied up Floyd Mayweather with it and said ‘B#tch better have my money’, lol. She did the same thing to Boris Kodjo and his wife. She tied up their wrists with a rope, in front of her dressing room. All in good jest though. More photos below…

I Won’t Fight Manny Pacquiao Again – Money Man Mayweather

Floyd Mayweather says he will not fight Manny Pacquiao again after branding the Filipino a “coward” and a “sore loser”. “He lost,” said the American, 38. “He knows he lost. I lost a lot of respect for him after all of this.” Mayweather says he did not detect any physical problem for Pacquiao during their welterweight contest.

“Absolutely not,” Mayweather said in an interview with Showtime, to be shown this weekend. “He was fast. His left hand was fast, his right hand was fast and he was throwing them both fast and strong.”

Mayweather told ESPN  earlier this week he would consider fighting Pacquiao again but backtracked
on that in the Showtime interview. “I change my mind,” he said. “At this particular time, no, because he’s a sore loser and he’s a coward.

If you lost, accept the loss.” Mayweather says his last fight before retirement will be in September, with Britain’s Amir Khan a possible opponent.

Lessons From Mayweather And Chelsea FC By Ololade Ajekigbe

The much hyped fight between the Filipino eight division world champion, Manny Pacquiao and the undefeated American five-division world champion Floyd Mayweather Jr finally took place as scheduled on the 2nd of May. At the end of the twelfth and final round, the Money man Mayweather was adjudged the winner in a unanimous decision by all three judges. A lot of people felt that the boxing bout didn’t exactly live up to its billing as the “Fight of the Century” as dubbed by its promoters. Those who were expecting to see a technical knock out ended up disappointed, but at the end of the day, the man tagged the best pound-for-pound fighter by many sporting news and boxing websites took the day.
In similar fashion, Chelsea Football Club literally wrapped up the race for the English Premier League title by winning their match against Crystal Palace on Sunday, with three matches still to play before the season eventually winds up. Boxing and Football are two entirely different sports, but the two winners in this scenario became champions in pretty much the same way – doing the needful to achieve the desired result! Many have criticized Mayweather’s fighting style on Sunday, saying that he clearly avoided really getting into the bout with the much more offensive Pacquaio who appeared to be fearless and brazen regardless of his underdog status, just like Chelsea, under the irrepressible Jose Mourinho have been taunted and tagged as boring despite putting up the most consistent performance this season having spent 253 days so far at the top of the Premier League. However, all that matters is that they emerged champions at the end of the day irrespective of what anyone thinks!
For the sake of argument, had Manny Pacquiao done his homework well he would have realized that his opponent has always been more of a defensive fighter who blocks and deflects most of his opponent’s punches while waiting for his opportunity to land accurate punches, (which explains why he always had relatively few scars and was nicknamed “Pretty Boy” by his amateur team mates) and would have found a way to circumvent his technique rather than fight “blindly.” Mayweather has always been known for his defensive techniques, he was taught to be that way by his boxer father and uncle and that is not likely to change soon.
Champions play to their strength regardless of how conservative or negative it may appear to others, as their goal is to win and not merely participate. This was evident in the result which showed that Pacquaio threw far more power punches – 236 in all, but could only land 63, while Mayweather with a more conservative 168 punches was able to land 81 of them! While the total punches for the two fighters also proved that the Money man was able to connect 34% of his punches as opposed to the Pacman’s 19%. Hence, the reason why Mayweather clearly won.
Champions don’t expend energy needlessly… you don’t have to like Chelsea to admit that they have been by far the best team in England this season. In the earlier part of the season when they needed to be more attack minded, they were. Towards the latter part of the season when they needed to be more defensive in their approach to games, they pulled it off perfectly. They may have been slightly boring as many have said, but I choose to see it as being pragmatic and ruthlessly efficient. One thing mattered to Chelsea – winning the league. And that they did it in their own style. This reminds me of how they won the 2011/2012 Uefa Champions League which pundits never predicted they would win by using the same defensive strategy.
Champions don’t play to the gallery, they play for themselves; a look at the track record of Floyd Mayweather who now has 48 wins and no losses in his professional career reveals a man who is all about results. So also is the philosophy of Chelsea Football Club under Jose Mourinho who has now won 2 titles in 2 years. Love them or loathe them, it is obvious that these ones have found the right formula when it comes to winning and cannot be bothered about changing it and risking the possibility of losing just to please the fans.
At the end of the day, everybody wants to win. Results are all that matter. It’s like having a baby – whether a woman decides to go through the rigorous and painful process of labour or opts for a Caesarean section, what matters is that a healthy baby is born. Ten years down the line, no one is going to remember how the baby was born! Ambitious people don’t go through life wanting to be remembered for just passing through and achieving nothing substantial in the process. What Floyd Mayweather and Chelsea have taught us is to channel our energies in the right direction in order to achieve the desired result.

Mayweather Mocks Pacquiao, Says ‘Winners Win, Losers Have Excuses’

Floyd Mayweather has mocked his beaten opponent Manny Pacquiao on Instagram, after the Filipino revealed that he had fought in the fight, which Mayweather won convincingly on points, on Saturday with an injured shoulder.

Mayweather posted a picture on his account today, writing: “19 years in the fight game and I’ve had one excuse: “Don’t have an excuse”. Winners win and losers have excuses.”

The post has emerged following a report that Mayweather has agreed to give Pacquiao a rematch next year. The unbeaten American is said to have told an ESPN journalist Stephen A. Smith that we would be willing to fight Pacquiao again – once he recovers from shoulder surgery to repair a tear in his rotator cuff.

“I will fight him in a year after his surgery,” Mayweather is reported to have told Smith in a text message.
