Why President Obama Feels Bad For Boys Who Try To Date Malia & Sasha

President Barack Obama’s daughters, Malia and Sasha, are 18 and 15 now, prime dating age. And guys actually do go out with them, Obama said. “That happened, you know?” he told a North Carolina radio station on Friday. “The truth is, I’m pretty relaxed about it for two reasons.

“One is [their mom] Michelle. She’s taught—she’s such a great example of how she carries herself, her self-esteem, not depending on boys to validate how you look or you know, not letting yourself be judged by anything other than your character and intelligence,” he said. “And hopefully I’ve been a good example in terms of how I’ve shown respect to my wife. So I don’t worry about it because they’re really solid, smart girls—young ladies now.”

And anyway, Obama has a fail-safe: “The other reason is because they’ve had Secret Service. There’s only so much these guys can do. These poor young men come by my house and….”

“They have no idea—” the radio host remarked.

“No, they have an idea. I describe for them….” Obama then laughed. Meanwhile, hundreds of miles away, a bunch of hopeful guys shivered.

Deji of Akure Calls For Establishment Of Federal Government College In Akure

The Deji of Akure, Oba Aladetoyinbo Aladelusi, has called for the establishment of a Federal Government College for boys in Akure.

Aladelusi made the call at an emergency meeting of the Parents Teachers Association of Federal Government Girls College (FGGC) in Akure on Monday.

He commended the government for establishing FGGC in Akure, saying that the school had impacted positively on the community and the country at large.

Aladelusi stressed the importance of girl-child education, saying that educated women played important roles in the society.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the meeting was called to address the issue of two cooks of the college who were arrested on April 4 by the Police for allegedly using sanitary pads of students for ritual purposes.

The cooks were accused of going to dustbins in the school to pick used sanitary pads and some other personal items of girls in hostels.

The traditional said it was normal for parents to feel concerned whenever they heard such stories and appealed that the school should wait for the police concluded their investigation.

Mrs Ibifuro Harrison, the state Commissioner of Police, who was at the meeting, said the police had investigated the matter and found nothing incriminating against the cooks.

Harrison said that it was the timely intervention of the police that saved the issue from degenerating, adding that it would have created disaffection among the students, teachers and Akure community.

“My joy is that no harm has happened to anyone. We investigated the matter and we did not find any of the allegations to be true,” she said.

Harrison advised parents to teach their children proper ways of disposing their “personal things and instill discipline in them’’.

Chief Imam of Akure, Alhaji Yayi Akorede, advised parents to allow peace to reign and return their wards to the school.

Akorede said people should plan for the progress of the school, saying, “this school is for Akure community and it must go on”.

Mrs Florence Ejikeme, the Principal of the school, said investigations had been conducted at different levels and nothing incriminatory was found.

Ejikeme said that the Police, the PTA and the old girls association of the college investigated the matter and found that the story was not true.

“I took personal pains to investigate the matter, what l found out was the girls were just restless and finding a way of stirring up dust,” she said.
Ejikeme said the meeting had resolved the issue and measures to prevent future occurrence.

She advised the parents to get to the management of the college on any issue rather than spreading false information.

Akin Asimolowo, the PTA Chairman, said the meeting was just to put an end to the ill feelings parents might have on the issue.

Asimolowo advised parents to always consult the PTA and the school authorities on issues bothering them.

3 Year Old Accidentally Shoots Dead His 9 Year Old Sister With Great-Grandfather’s Gun

A nine-year-old girl was accidentally shot in the head by her three-year-old little brother over the weekend, authorities say.
Police in Alabama say Irondale third grader Kimi Reylander was critically wounded Saturday before being rushed to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
Kimi was reportedly shot after her brother found their great-grandfather’s gun on a nightstand in his home.

“It appears to be a tragic accident,” Irondale Police Chief Ken Atkinson told AL.com.

Upon hearing the gunshot, the great-grandfather, Joel Watson, ran to the bedroom.

“I came in and when I came in the door, my son came out and said she had been shot,” he told WIAT.

Watson said he left the firearm out without knowing his great-grandchildren were coming to visit.
Atkinson called the incident another sad lesson in firearm safety and urged gun owners to keep their weapons out of sight at all times.
A GoFundMe page has been set up to help cover funeral expenses.
According to the Washington Post, Kimi is the fifth person to be hurt in an accidental shooting by a toddler since Jan. 1. Also this year, at least four toddlers have accidentally shot themselves.

Bizarre Moment Oprah Winfrey Gets Ambushed By Man Claiming To Be Her Secret Son

Oprah Winfrey was ambushed by a man claiming to be her ‘secret son’ after she left a recent taping of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.
The 61-year-old media mogul was photographed as she attempted to deal with the man, Calvin Mitchell, during the awkward encounter outside Colbert’s New York studio.
Mitchell told Radar on Wednesday that Winfrey once asked his mother to adopt him at age 11 after he and the billionaire mogul met on the 1992 set of ABC’s movie-of-the-week, There Are No Children Here.
In the interview which labelled him Oprah’s ‘long-lost secret son’, Mitchell claimed that he has been estranged from Oprah for 20 years.
Mitchell said:

‘I want to ask Oprah, “Why did you leave me? Why did you leave me?” I’m still empty. I’m still searching. I don’t have closure to this. I just don’t understand.’

Oprah was seen acknowledging Mitchell outside the studios following her October 15 TV appearance and pressed her hand against his chest in the familiar way she frequently does with fans – before he left his phone number with her reps for further contact.
When he was younger, Oprah would allegedly send gifts to the boy with notes addressed: ‘To my son Calvin, I love you.’
She also allegedly paid for Mitchell to attend the private Christian boarding school, The Piney Woods School, in Mississippi until he dropped out at age 17.

‘I was young. I made a dumb decision, and Oprah wouldn’t forgive me. I feel like what she did was wrong,’ said Calvin, who later became suicidal after she ‘abandoned’ him.

‘She told me, “Calvin, just try to work it out. You can do it. Just hang in there.” She was trying to inspire me to do what was right. But even after the long pep talk she gave me, I still left.’

He added: ‘I just wanted to come home, and Oprah didn’t understand that.’

Oprah has always been incredibly generous in donating money to young students, having given 400 scholarships to Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia and the school she opened for girls in South Africa.

Black Student Admits To Hanging ‘White Only’ Signs Next To Water Fountains, Bathrooms

A black college student this week acknowledged  posting “White Only” and “Black Only” signs next to restrooms and water fountains on campus. It turned out to be a student art project that didn’t go over well.
“It brought up feelings of a past that our generation has never seen, which I think is why it was so shocking for us to see,” said Micah Oliver, president of the Black Student Union, according to local ABC affiliate Channel 27 News
More than 100 students turned out for Wednesday night’s Black Student Union meeting at the State University of New York at Buffalo, where emotions were inflated when they discussed the signs.
“There was fear expressed, anger, disappointment all of that,” Oliver said.

Then, amid the discussion, Ashley Powell, a black fine arts graduate student, stood up and acknowledged that she was the one who had posted the signs, according to The Buffalo News, which reported:.

The Spectrum noted that many students at the meeting were outraged and walked out. Other students, the newspaper said, denounced the signs on social media as “racist” and “an act of terrorism.”
The Spectrum added that “the project was for a 400-level art class titled ‘Instillation: Urban Space.’ Powell said the goal of the signs and project was to see what people’s reactions would be to them.” The signs were installed at water fountains and bathrooms in Clemens Hall.

Student art project or not, students say Powell crossed the line on this one.

“I think a lot of people like artsy extreme stuff and use that sometimes as an excuse to get away with anything,” Mikhal Gonzalez, a UB freshman, told ABC-27. “I don’t think that’s right.”

Powell offered an apology of sorts.

“I apologize for the extreme trauma, fear, and actual hurt and pain these signs brought about,” she said.

“I apologize if you were hurt, but I do not apologize for what I did. Once again, this is my art practice. My work directly involves black trauma and non-white suffering. I do not believe that there can be social healing without first coming to terms with and expressing our own pain, rage, and trauma.”

Kim & Kanye Made Sure Their Next Child Was A Boy By Only Choosing Male Embryos

According to reports, a source claimed that Kim and Kanye made sure their new baby was a boy by choosing only male embryos.
From Us Magazine:

Reality star Kim Kardashian, 34, and husband Kanye West underwent an IVF gender-selection process this spring to predetermine baby No. 2’s sex. “She only had boy embryos implanted,” says a source close to Kardashian, who confirmed the gender on Monday June 21, after Us Weekly broke the news. During the procedure — which can start at roughly $17,000 — doctors isolate fertilized embryos of the preferred sex in a lab, then transfer them to a uterus.

“Kanye and Kim are so excited to complete their family,” says another source of the parents of daughter North, 2. “Kanye loves Nori more than anything, but to make his world complete, he wanted a little boy, an heir,” says a source close to West.

Boko Haram Abducts 40 Boys, Men in Borno Village

Suspected Boko Haram gunmen have kidnapped 40 boys and young men in a remote village in Borno state on New Year’s Eve?, residents who fled the isolated settlement said on Saturday.

Scores of Boko Haram militants stormed the Malari village and whisked away the males, aged between 10 and 23, into the nearby Sambisa forest, believed to be one of the Islamists’ major bases. The news of the abductions came out only days later, when residents who fled the village arrived in the state capital Maiduguri late on Friday. “They came in pick-up trucks armed with guns and gathered all the men in the village outside the home of the village chief where they preached to us before singling out 40 of our boys and taking them away,” Bulama Muhammad told AFP

?Malari village lies 20 kilometres (12.5 miles) from the Sambisa forest and close to the town of Gwoza, which the militants captured last June declaring it part of their caliphate. “My two sons and three nephews were among those taken away by the Boko Haram? gunmen and we believe they are going to use them as conscripts,” Muhammad said.

“When we heard of the kidnap of 40 boys in Malari by Boko Haram we decided to leave because we could be the next target,” said Alaramma Babagoni, who fled from the nearby village of Mulgwi. There was no immediate comment on the incident from the military in Maiduguri.

Boko Haram is still holding in captivity more than 200 schoolgirls it abducted from their school in Chibok in Borno state last April.

The Islamists are believed to control large swathes of territory in Borno as well as several towns and villages in two other northeastern states, Adamawa and Yobe.

Boko Haram’s five-year uprising in Nigeria has claimed more than 13,000 lives and has seen dozens of people, including women and children, kidnapped by the Islamists.
