Man docked for allegedly raping teenage sister-in-law.

A vulcaniser, Wasiu Ibrahim, 35, was on Wednesday brought before an Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court for allegedly raping his sister-in-law.

The accused, who resides at 61, Abeokuta St., Ogba, near Lagos is being tried for rape.

The prosecutor, Clifford Ogu, told court that the offence was committed on January 26 at the residence of the accused.

Mr. Ogu said that the victim, a 15-year-old girl, was residing with her sister, the wife of the accused.

“The accused raped the victim when his wife had travelled,” the prosecutor said.

Mr. Ogu, a police inspector, said the accused came home drunk and forcefully raped the victim.

The offence contravened Section 259 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2011.

The accused, however, pleaded not guilty.

The Chief Magistrate, Taiwo Akanni, granted the accused bail in the sum of N250,000 with two sureties in like sum.

Mr. Akanni adjourned the case till March 15 for mention.

My in-law forcibly had sex with me, my 2 sisters, witness tells court

A 17-year-old school dropout, on Friday, told a Jikwonyi Customary Court, Abuja, that her sister’s husband forcibly had sexual intercourse with her, and two other sisters.

The teenager, who resides in Minna, gave the testimony as a witness in a divorce petition filed by her elder sister, Janet Suleman, against her husband, Philip Ogho.

“When I was living with my sister, her husband attempted to sleep with me but I never agreed. Whenever I refused, he beat me.

“One day he asked me who I am, that he can’t have sex with me, that he has sexed my other two sisters living with them,” she testified.

The witness said that her sister’s husband kept on maltreating her until she gave in to his request.

“He kept on beating me, then one day I could not bear it again, so I allowed him to sleep with me.

“He threatened to deal with me if I tell my sister. I didn’t tell my sister but I told the other two he had sex with,” she told the court.

She told the court that she left her sister’s house because her sister’s husband kept coming to have sex with her every night.

The Court’s President, Everyman Eleanya, however, ordered that a hearing notice be placed at the Ogho’s residence because of his continued absence in court since the commencement of hearing in the case.

Mr. Eleanya adjourned the case till January 31 for hearing.

Buhari’s new son-in-law under probe over alleged N3bn fraud.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has intensified investigations into N3bn fraud allegedly committed by Malam Gimba Ya’u Kumo, who recently got married to the second daughter of President Muhammadu Buhari, SaharaReporters reports.

According to the news platfrom, Malam Kumo allegedly committed the crime while he was Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria.

It was learnt that the new son-in-law to the president had been under probe before his marriage but has now fallen into the spotlight of the anti-graft agency recently.

Sources also revealed that the President has vowed not to get involved in the case as the EFCC continues to find incriminating evidences against him.
