Buhari Appoints New Post Master General Of NIPOST

Asiwaju Bisi Adegbuyi has been appointed as the new Post Master General/Chief Executive Office of Nigeria Postal Services (NIPOST).

His appointment was approved by President Muhammadu Buhari.

This was contained in a terse statement signed by Bolaji Adebiyi, the Director, Press, of the office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) Babachir David Lawal.

Adegbuyi, was the Deputy Director- General of Governor Ibikunle Amosun Campaign Organisation in the last general elections.

He is a legal practitioner, human rights activists and was also an Action Congress (AC) Ogun East senatorial candidate.

Recall that Mallam Ibrahim Mori Baba retired as the post master general of NIPOST in August last year. He has handed over to the deputy postmaster general (engineering and technical) Architect Enoch Ade Ogun, who is the most senior official in the postal agency.

In June, the President of the Senior Staff Association of NIPOST, Comrade Gabriel Imafidon, complained that the non-appointment of a substantive PMG had become a thing of concern.

According to him since the retirement of Baba, no serious decisions had been taken, although government had on two occasions made appointments in acting capacity.
