Teenage boy defiles his 6-year-old sister.

Teenage ISIS member kills his entire family after his suicide belt accidentally goes off at home

A teenager who had been recruited by the Islamic State in Mosul killed the whole of his six-member family when his explosive belt went off inside their home east of the city.

Three children were reportedly among those killed by the unnamed boy’s explosive device.

The boy, who belonged to the so-called ‘Cubs of the Caliphate’ squad, had been given the suicide belt by other members of the terror group, Alsumaria News reports.

He put the device on and went back to his home in the al-Wehda district of Mosul, where it later exploded, a source told the news channel.

‘The teenager’s belt exploded inside his home. It appeared later that all of his family, including three children, were killed,’ said the source, on condition of anonymity.

The man said Islamic State regularly recruits teenagers to wear explosive devices, especially in eastern Mosul.

‘It comes as part of ISIS strategy to strengthen its grip on the ground and intimidate the people,’ he added.

The extremist group has a history of recruiting underage fighters, some of whom have appeared in the group’s propaganda videos, with children even taking on the role of executioner.

ISIS has been fighting to retain control of Mosul, which the terror group took over in June 2014.

It had been declared the capital of the self-proclaimed ‘Islamic Caliphate’ but the extremist group is being pushed out of the city after Iraqi troops and US-led air forces launched an operation to liberate the city last month.

Today, Iraqi special forces said Islamic State militants battling to regain control of Mosul have fired mortar rounds on government-controlled neighborhoods in the east of the city, killing at least seven civilians.

Army medic Bashir Jabar, in charge of a field clinic run by the special forces, said IS attacked the city’s eastern Tahrir neighborhood and nearby areas as civilians were fleeing to camps sheltering displaced families.

Mr Jabar said two children were among those killed, while 35 people were wounded, including 18 children.

On a donkey-drawn wood cart, a grieving family carried the body of their 18-year-old son, wrapped in a white plastic bag.

The slain teen’s uncle, Mohammed Ismael, said his nephew was in the street when a mortar shell landed nearby, wounding him fatally in the head.

Two teenage robbers nabbed with double-barrel guns in Delta

The Delta State Police Command has arrested two suspected criminals for allegedly being in possession of firearms.

The suspects, Godspower Peter, 18 and Voke Samuel, 15, were nabbed on Thursday by officials of the Safer High Way Patrol on Ekakpamre-Jeremi Road in Ughelli South Local Government Area, LGA, of the state.

The suspects, who are said to be armed robbers terrorizing the state, were nabbed with a fabricated single barrel gun with four rounds of cartridges and a double barrel cut-to-size gun.

The Assistant Commissioner of Police, ACP, in Ughelli Area Command, Mr. Usman Ndanbabo, who paraded the suspects before newsmen shortly after their arrest, said his men arrested the suspects on a motorcycle while carrying a black polythene bag.

“The polythene bag contained cut-to-size guns, with one of the bullets already used, indicating that they were coming from a robbery.

“There were four of them who jumped into a swamp but our men pursued them, and could only arrest two.

“The suspects made statements and the command will not relent in its efforts to make the area crime-free,” the ACP stated.

One of the suspects, Peter, in his statement to the police said, “I am a motorcycle rider. The three boys asked me to carry them from Agbarho in Ughelli North to Otujeremi in Ughelli South and I charged them N1, 000. They agreed.

“They appealed to me to tow their motorcycle, which was bad.

“On our way, we saw a police checkpoint. We were searched and two guns and bullets were found in the bags they carried.

“We fled into a nearby swamp and I was arrested.”

How Teenage Suicide Bomber Got Cold Feet, Refused To Kill

Nigerian officials have said that a teenage girl packed with explosives by Boko Haram ripped off her vest to avoid taking part in an attack on the refugee camp in Dikwa, Borno State.

Two others with her, however, walked into the middle of hundreds of people lining up for food before they blew themselves up in an attack Tuesday that killed 58 and wounded several others, reported the Associated Press (AP) on Thursday.
Self-defence fighter Modu Awami said on Thursday that the third bomber, looking about 14, has confessed. Awami, who helped question the girl, said she was scared because she knew she would kill people.
A rescue official said the girl gave officials information about other planned bombings.

Teenage Female Suicide Bomber Caught in Maiduguri Market

A teenage female suicide bomber was caught heading toward the Maiduguri market, which has already been hit twice recently by female suicide bombers, said witnesses.

The young woman was stopped at a roadblock run by a civilian defense group and when searched she reluctantly lifted her hijab to reveal explosives strapped to her abdomen, Muhammed Abbas, an official of the Nigeria Vigilante Group in Maiduguri told The Associated Press by phone.

Double suicide bombings at a bustling market in Maiduguri, capital of Borno state, killed at least 16 people, according to workers at two hospitals who spoke on condition of anonymity because they are not authorized to speak to reporters. The bodies included those of the two young women who set off the explosions.

Two other young women blew themselves up at the same market last week, killing at least 70 people.
