Japanese Surgeon, Dr. Takasu Angry With Nigerian Officials Over His Donation

Japanese surgeon, Dr Katsuya Takasu is unhappy with Nigerian sports officials over their recent “grumblings” about the $390,000 donations he made to the Nigeria U-23 Men’s football team, Dream Team V1 at the just concluded Rio 2016 Olympic Games in Brazil.

 

The Japanese flew to Brazil to hand over the $390,000 cheques to Siasia and Mikel John Obi (Coach and captain of the team) after winning the soccer bronze of the Rio 2016 Olympics. But immediately after the donation, top Nigerian sports officials have called for investigations to the source of the money.

 

With the development, the Japanese surgeon revealed his displeasure with Nigerian officials especially the sports minister, Solomon Dalung; telling him to conduct an investigation on his foundation by checking the source of the money. “We support women and young people who keep on trying without giving up. I will recommend plastic surgeon of my competition to wear Red Beret,” he stated in a series of tweets.

ICPC Arraigns Surgeon For Demanding N320k Bribe Before Carrying Out A Surgery In Enugu

A former Consultant Cardio-thoracic Surgeon in the Department of Surgery, University Of Nigeria Teaching Hospital (UNTH), Enugu, Professor Martin Aghaji, has been arraigned before Justice R. O. Odugu of a Federal High Court sitting in Enugu by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) on a 4-count charge of allegedly demanding and receiving bribe in the course of his official duties.

The charges bordered on administrative corruption, extortion and conferring corrupt advantages on himself, which violate Sections 8 and 19 and are punishable under Section 19 of the Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Act, 2000. Professor Aghaji, had sometime in 2003, while being a public officer used his position as a Consultant Cardio-thoracic Surgeon at UNTH Enugu, demanded for N320, 000 and received N70, 000, before he could carry out a surgical operation on one late Francis Ebeogbodi, which he never did before the patient passed on.

Investigations have shown that although it is unethical for doctors in public service to demand and accept money before performing their official duties, the accused had allegedly done so. Professor Aghaji pleaded not guilty and was granted bail on self-recognition.

Lee’s specialty is facial feminization for male to female transgender patients.He told the Daily News that though honored to work with Jenner he was a little nervous

‘I entered with some trepidation of course,’ he said. ‘I figured it was gonna be very challenging because of her celebrity status and the fact that she’s going to finally expose herself for (who) she is, and it’ll be one of the most judged faces on the planet.’
