Finance Ministry, Others Summoned Over Budget

Members of the House of Representatives yesterday summoned Finance Ministry, Budget Office, Fiscal Responsibility Commission, National Planning Commission, Debt Management Office and Revenue Mobilisation, Allocation and Fiscal Commission to explain why the 2015 Appropriation Act is not being implemented.

Also, the ad-hoc committee set up by the 8th House of Assembly will today commence a public hearing over non-implementation of 2015 Budget. It was reliably gathered that officials of other agencies related to finance may also be summoned to appear before the ad-hoc committee headed by Rep. Ahmed Pategi, Kwara APC, at the public hearing.

Why Bello Isyaku was Summoned On Buhari’s Certificate

Contrary to reports that the principal of Government College, Katsina State, Bello Isyaku, has been questioned about the college’s release of Gen Muhammadu Buhari’s secondary school certificate results, the state’s commissioner of education, Professor Kado Kurfi, has explained what really happened.

According to Prof Kurfi, speaking with Daily Trust at the weekend, the principal was only invited to Katsina state Ministry of Education to verify the results he released.

“No query was issued; why do I have to do that? We invited him to verify if indeed he was the one that released it and to ensure that it is genuine,” the commissioner said.

It will be recalled that since the principal released Gen Buhari’s secondary school results, there have been mixed reactions as to whether the results are genuine or fake.
