Man Arrested For Playing Porn On Giant Video Billboard

Indonesian police have arrested a man who they say has confessed to broadcasting a pornographic film onto a large electronic billboard on a busy road in Jakarta.

The 24-year-old IT worker, identified by his initials S.A.R., was apprehended in a police raid at his company offices on Tuesday, Senior Adjunct Commissioner Roberto Pasaribu, of the Jakarta Police Special Crimes Unit said.
The suspect told police he approached the video billboard last week and saw the login name and password for the computer system that controls it displayed on the screen.
According to police, the suspect took a photo of the information with his mobile phone. When he got back to his office, he logged into the computer system, accessed a porn site and started playing a film.
About five minutes of the sex film was shown on the billboard before people in the area cut off electricity to it.
During the unscheduled show, passersby took photos and shared videos on social media that trended under the hashtag #videotron.
The suspect told police he played the film unintentionally, Pasaribu said.
If convicted, the suspect could face up to seven years in prison.

Indonesia has ordered police not to play Pokemon Go while on duty and will soon ban military personnel as well, officials said Wednesday, as the defence minister warned the smartphone game was a security threat.

Indonesians have joined the frenzy for the game, which has become a worldwide hit since launching two weeks ago and has has already been blamed for a wave of crimes, traffic violations and complaints in cities around the globe.

Despite Pokemon Go not yet being officially available in Indonesia, many have downloaded it illegally and taken to the streets to hunt for virtual “pocket monsters”.

But its popularity has caused concern among the security establishment’s top echelons, with officials suggesting its high-tech capabilities could be put to use in spying.

“Spying can come in different forms,” said hardline Defence Minister Ryamizard Ryacudu.

“At first, it (Pokemon Go) appears cute but the longer you see… it is just not right.”

The military will soon issue an order banning all personnel from playing Pokemon Go during work hours as it seeks to protect high-security sites, military spokesman Tatang Sulaiman told AFP.

The order will note concerns that devices being used to play the game can send data over the Internet to other countries.

The announcement came after a Frenchman was briefly detained this week when he accidentally wandered onto a military base on Java island as he played Pokemon Go.

Police officers across the country were already sent an order on Tuesday banning them from playing the game while on duty, a spokesman said.

“We are worried that police officers may become addicted and we don’t want that because a police officer’s duty is to serve the public. The job requires hard work and concentration,” said national police spokesman Boy Rafli Amar.

He also said police had been instructed to be on heightened alert for terror threats. Earlier this month, a suicide bomber attacked a police station in the city of Solo, injuring one officer.

Pokemon Go uses smartphone satellite location, graphics and camera capabilities to overlay cartoon monsters on real-world settings, challenging players to capture and train the creatures for battles.

Wada Visits Buhari, Seeks Level Playing Field

Kogi State governor and flag bearer of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, in the November governorship election of the state, Mr. Idris Wada has sued for a level playing field for all participating political parties, saying it was absolutely necessary in the interest of peace.

The governor who spoke to State House Correspondents Wednesday after a private meeting with president Mohammadu Buhari revealed that his performance would secure him a second term.

He stated that the flagging off of his campaign on Tuesday recorded an impressive turnout, an indication that he was in the good book of the people of the state.

“I thank God that I am the candidate of the PDP for the election. Yesterday, we had a tumultuous turnout of our supporters and members of our party when I launched my senatorial campaign at the Eastern Senatorial Zone of Kogi State at Ayingba. It was a very successful rally and the turnout of people.

“In terms of preparation, we are working hard. I am also working with security agencies to ensure that there is a secured and safe environment for our people in the course of the campaign and during the election…”
