Kano State governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has declared tomorrow, Wednesday, 14th October, 2015, as a public holiday in Kano State in commemoration of the New Islamic Year 1437AH.
In a press release signed by his Director General, Media and Communications, Baba Halilu Dantiye, the governor congratulated the people of Kano and all the Muslim Umma for witnessing the New Year.
He also used the period to condole with the families of those who lost their lives in the two incidences in Saudi Arabia which led to the deaths of so many people and prayed for the quick recovery of those that sustained injuries.
Reassuring the people that the state government will continue to work hard towards improving the living standard of the people, the governor appealed that the public holiday be used in offering prayers, to God for peace and prosperity in the state and country as a whole.
