Free Man : Delta State Policemen Rescue Pastor From Kidnappers’ Den

A joint team of police operatives from Otu-Jeremi, Ughelli South Local Government Area and NNPC area in Warri have rescued a pastor of a new generation church in Effurun from kidnappers’ den after he had spent some days in captivity.

It was gathered that the victim was rescued from a bush along ECN road, Otu-Jeremi following a tip-off.

The victim, our correspondent also learnt, was kidnapped by unknown gunmen at about 8:30 pm, along Keme Lane, off Jakpa road in Effurun, Uvwie Local Government Area of the state.

It was reported that the victim was driven away in his ash-coloured Toyota Corolla and taken to an unknown destination.

State police commissioner, Mr. Alkali Baba Usman, said that based on intelligence report, detectives stormed the hideout of the hoodlums, and sensing that police were closing in on them, the suspects escaped into the bush and left the victim, who was rescued unhurt.

He said one white Mazda with registration number KMR216AA and five live cartridges were recovered from the hideout of the suspects.

CP Usman said efforts are being made to track down the suspects and to recover the victim’s vehicle which the suspects stole.
