The Prelate of the Methodist Church of Nigeria, Reverend Samuel Chukwuemeka Uche, on Sunday urged President Goodluck Jonathan to prosecute the treasonous statements of some All Progressives Congress, APC, chieftains who said they would form a parallel government if it fails to win the presidential election next month.
The Reverend made the statement at the National Christian Centre, Abuja, during a special church service held to mark the 2015 Armed Forces Remembrance Day, which was attended by Jonathan and other senior government officials.
Rivers State governor and Director General of the Buhari/Osinbajo Campaign Organization, Rotimi Amaechi, was among the APC’s senior members who have made the threat of forming alternative government if their party is not satisfied with the conduct of the election.
“Votes must be counted and recorded and results written and there should be no forgery.
“Those saying they will form a parallel government or invite the military are committing felony; they should be in prison because they are committing treason,” the prelate stated.
