Reports say that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has dropped the former governor of the state, Ali Modu Sheriff as its senatorial candidate for Borno Central zone.

Sheriff’s name was noticeably absent from the final list of senatorial candidates released by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on its website after PDP had initially adopted him as its candidate ahead of February general election. The ex-governor’s name was reportedly replaced by Muhammad Baba Kachalla, 49, for Borno Central senatorial district.
