Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Alhaji Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri and his All Progressives Congress (APC) opponent for the October 11 governorship election in the state have picked their running mates.

While Fintiri picked Barrister Afremu Jingi, Bindo is said to have settled for Martin Babale in the bid to give their tickets balance in terms of the ethnic and geopolitical divides in the state.

 Both Fintiri and Bindo are Muslims from the North senatorial  zone of the state and have picked their running mates from the Central and South senatorial zones of the state to ensure balance.

The duo were said to have arrived at the decision after consultations with party stakeholders in their respective states.
A source close to Fintiri told our correspondent a lot of consideration went into the preparation for the election.
INEC had given the parties up to September 17, 2015 to present their candidates to the commission.
