Who is Boko Haram? Is this a blame game on ‘terrorism’ in Nigeria? – Olaitan Ajiboye

Boko Haram has been a prominent topic of discussion lately; in fact, the news on Boko Haram has been drawing more attention than all other news. This has got me thinking and researching, and I feel that it would be nice to share some facts, based on the various events and my opinion, with you.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion; I know that not everyone will like it, but below is what different people have said at different times.

1. “Boko Haram is a fallout of the internal crisis in the PDP,” said the late general Andrew Owoye Azazi. He was Jonathan’s security adviser, and shortly after that speech he died in a “helicopter crash,” whose cause has not been released up to date.

2. “Boko Haram is sponsored by General Muhammadu Buhari,” says most people from east. Edwin Clark, and every other group or person that loves hearing and believing lies from the PDP Jonathan’s government has never bothered to expose any evidence linking to the man causing terrorism; he only gave him praise for the wonderful write-up he wrote recently.

3. “Vice President Namadi Sambo met with Boko Haram in Saudi Arabia in August 2012,” from news reports (easily verifiable on Google for those who don’t have the newspaper cuttings).
How did he know Boko Haram leaders such that he could meet with them? Who introduced them to him? Who facilitated their meetings?

September 2012 “Boko Haram” nominates General Buhari among the people to negotiate on their behalf. He refuted this, claiming that a ghost cannot nominate a living being, but obviously it was in obedience to what VP Namadi Sambo told them in Saudi Arabia. This was in a bid to ensure that the people who hate him and all other PDP affiliated groups and persons would continue the lie that General Buhari sponsors the group; it worked! Until today, some people are eating and drinking this heavy fraud!

4. “Vice President Namadi Sambo gave Boko Haram a phone number to call for peace process discussions,” said Senator Ali Ndume in his court affidavit sworn to on oath. Obviously the government set him up to deal with him because he strongly condemned the attempt to remove fuel subsidy at the end of 2011. The VP, Sambo, has not denied giving the number.
What does the VP and the PDP know about “Boko Haram”?

5. “A Boko Haram medical doctor named Dr. Isaac Okere from Bayelsa state has been arrested in Maiduguri, Borno state,” from news (verifiable on Google).

6. “The Directorate of Military Intelligence (DMI) has uncovered a plot by some Bayelsa and Adamawa states politicians to bomb the CBN, INEC and a luxury hotel in Abuja, in the name of Boko Haram,” page 3 of Daily Sun dated 20th January 2012.

7. “Boko Haram members that are Chadians and Niger Republic citizens have been arrested with bombs and heavy weapons in a Bayelsa state government building, in Lagos,” from news reports in January 2013.

What is the extent of the involvement of Bayelsa state in Boko Haram?

If Boko Haram destroys the northern towns and villages and makes the people of those areas unstable, will they be able to vote in 2015? Considering that those who survived may have lost their voter’s card in the destructions; who benefits? Even if they are fighting for their religion, will dead bodies and burnt houses worship with them?

Several persons have died of alleged chemical or biological weapons attack by “insurgents” in Benue state. How did the so called “insurgents” acquire such weapons? Bear in mind that even the al-Qaeda terrorist network has not yet acquired such weapons. Meanwhile, the blame game continues.

  1. “Boko Haram is sponsored by the opposition because Jonathan is from a minority tribe,” said Olisa Metuh, the PDP megaphone. This is a clever way of deflecting public attention from the crass incompetence and corruption perpetrated by Jonathan’s regime, and also a clever way of further dividing Nigerians. Furthermore, Jonathan isn’t the only minority to rule Nigeria. Olisa Metuh and his PDP didn’t tell Nigerians why the opposition is sponsoring Boko Haram to destroy their own voting strongholds.

9. “Boko Haram is being financed and promoted by Nigeria’s Presidency for political gains,” a group of Northern governors told the American government in March 2014. This assertion must have rattled the Presidency, which led to the issuing of contradictory statements on the same day; “Blame North-Eastern opposition governors for the insecurity ravaging their region,” said President Jonathan speaking at a “Boko Haram” rally, oh sorry, I mean a PDP rally in Bauchi city on Saturday, March 29, 2014.

10. “Boko Haram and other insurgents are sponsored by foreign countries to destroy Nigeria and Africa,” said President Jonathan, speaking in Abuja at the African Union Conference of Finance Ministers on Saturday, March 29, 2014. What a contradiction? Same day but different accusations on the same subject.

Is it foreign forces that command soldiers to mysteriously disappear from check points in the North-East for “Boko Haram” to pass freely, and even operate for up to six hours and then follow the same route and disappear?

Is it foreign forces that supply hardware and other provisions to the “terrorists” in their camps with helicopters without our Air Force and Intelligence Services intercepting them? How about our national radar coverage; is it operated by foreigners?

And if foreign forces were responsible for “Boko Haram” why was it that when the government of Benin Republic arrested Terrorist Asari Dokubo over “Boko Haram” activities, the government of Goodluck Jonathan pressured them to release him?

Several heavy weapons have been reportedly recovered or captured from captured “Boko Haram” suspects. Well, how come their sources of acquisition have not been tracked and traced through the serial numbers on the weapons?

Several suspects have been captured or killed; how come their identities are not released as is done in other places? Also, for the ones killed, how come their DNA details are not released to actually establish their identities and where they come from?

Why is it that “Boko Haram” strikes most whenever Jonathan’s government is facing serious issues of corruption? Should we even bother about the so called “Prison Break Season One” which purports that a chained “Boko Haram” suspect disarmed a SSS operative in a heavily fortified SSS national headquarters?

How come this drama is coming shortly after a very high profile “Boko Haram” leader was arrested along the Cameroon – Nigeria border and flown to Abuja? Definitely this “Boko Haram” leader knows a lot about VP Namadi Sambo and Bayelsa connection. In the series “Prison Break Season One” the SSS said it had killed 21 “Boko Haram” suspects that attempted to escape from detention in their headquarters building. This is very convenient; the names of some bigwigs will not be mentioned in court by the now dead “Boko Haram” leader that was captured. Meanwhile, the blame game will continue so that nice persons will continue to be blackmailed as sponsors of “Boko Haram.”

I refuse to be deceived because I clearly remember that the PDP had threatened to rule and enslave Nigerians for 60 years, and the only way they can achieve that is by making sure elections don’t run properly in areas they cannot win. This is the reason d’être for “Boko Haram.” Some will say nobody should put the blame on Mr. President, but I ask “who is the commander-in-chief of the Armed forces of the federal of Nigeria?” Remember, when soldiers win a war, the General takes credit. Mr. President should check his cabinet very well, I strongly believe something is fishy; or are all these anomalies a mere coincidence? Or are Boko Haram invisible beings as we’re made to believe?

May God save Nigeria!
