Almakura has Set the Pace – Musa Tanko

Nasarawa state was created out of Plateau state by Gen. Sani Abacha in 1996 together with Bayelsa, Ebonyi, Ekiti, Gombe and Zamfara states.

The governors of this baby state from 96 to date are: Wing Comdr. Abdullahi Ibrahim who held sway to the death of Abacha. Then followed by Col. Bala Mande who handed over to the first executive Governor Sen. Abdullahi Adamu. Between 2007 and 2011 came Aliyu Akwe Doma who handed over to the present Umaru Tanko Almakura.

Since 1999 Nasarawa has been administered by the PDP until 2011 when the CPC was enthroned. Like most Nigerian states, Nasarawa state is a home to many tribes and ethnic groups numbering more than 20.
Lafia the state capital is a home to Kanuri, Mighili, Alago, Gwandara, Eggon among others.

Since the creation of the state Lafia , the state capital and indeed any other part of the state never had it fair share of attention from the previous governments as it has it now, courtesy CPC (now APC) government under the able stewardship of Almakura (TA’AL).

For the first time all the local government in the state are having a general hospital different from the make-shift ones managed by the previous administrations (PDP).

For the first time all the primary and secondary schools in the state renovated and upgraded with superior infrastructures.

For the first time, the three senatorial zones of Lafia, Akwanga and Keffi are homes to a modern and automated libraries to compliment the tertiary institutions located in these zones.

For the first time, Lafia the state capital and indeed the remaining LGAs are being networked with roads and drainages.

So it baffles me when I see people like Ibrahim K. Dallah (@ik_dallah) trying to discredit this people oriented Government of APC. It is unfortunate that some of our youth have found solace in indolence, with laughable tittles justifying their “Briefcase activism”. I therefore challenge Dallah and indeed any of his comrades to come forward with any atrocity committed by Almakura against not only the students any other person or persons.

It obvious that people like Dallah are blinded by sentiments that they are unable to reason beyond what they are meant to see.
