The Chief of Defence Staff, Maj. Gen Gabriel Olonisakin on Sunday visited the site at the Nigerian Defence Academy, where a Dornier 228 light aircraft belonging to the Nigerian Air Force crashed on Saturday, killing all seven people on board.
The Defence Chief, who was accompanied to the crashed site by the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Defence, Aliyu Ismaila and other top military officers, described the incident as unfortunate.
Both the Permanent Secretary and the Defence Chief assured that efforts will be put in place to ensure that such an incident never occurs again.
The ill-fated plane took off from the Air Force base in Kaduna enroute Abuja, unfortunately, less than ten minutes in the air, it wobbled before crashing inside in a compound.
