As Kogi State chapter of the All Progress Congress, APC crisis deepened and vote of no confidence was passed on Governor Yahaya Bello by the 34 executive members of APC in the State, a party stalwart, Hon. Ben Adaji has called on the state governor to resign immediately.
However source closed to the state Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello said the government was not aware of such move by the party faithful in the state, noting that there was no justification for the governor to resign his position. Adaji who made this call while addressing Journalists in Lokoja yesterday, stated that since the platform on which he rode to power had disowned him , there is no other option for him than to tender his resignation letter along his Deputy, Chief Simon Achuba.
He lamented that the current problem in Kogi State is very disheartening and that every right thinking man must pass vote of no confidence on the governor, Yahaya Bello. Adaji who was APC House Representatives aspirant for Ankpa/Omala/ Olamaboro Federal Constituency , noted that it is evident that the governor has nothing to offer the people of the state with his performance in last three months.
“Yahaya Bello should resign honourably. Since the platform on which he rode to power has passed vote of no confidence on him. He kept on collecting federal allocations without payment of salary to workers in the state and has not initiated any project”, he stated. The APC chieftain called on President Muhammadu Buhari to ask Governor Yahaya Bello to account for how he has spent the allocations he has collected so far .
Shedding more lights on the vote of no confidence on Yahaya Bello, Adaji explained that the 34 executive members of the party had met and passed vote of no confidence on Governor Yahaya Bello.
