Nollywood Actor, Femi Adebayo Appointed SA To Kwara Governor

Femi Adebayo, a lawyer, actor, producer, and trophy ambassador has been appointed Special Assistant(SA) on Arts, Culture, and Tourism to the Kwara Governor, Abdulfatah Ahmed.


In a statement issued to newsmen on Tuesday in Abuja, Adebayo expressed joy over the new appointment and urged his fans to continue to support him.


“I was appointed as Special Assistant (SA) to the Kwara state governor, on Arts, Culture and Tourism. I thank God for an opportunity to transform my state into a foremost tourist state that will attract foreign and domestic tourists. My fans, I need your support; leave me not”. Adebayo said.


Following his new appointment, Adebayo has joined the league of Nollywood stars, who have held and still holding political offices.


The Nollywood stars included; Richard Mofe-Damijo, Kate Henshaw, Desmond Eliot, and Ini Edo who was recently appointed SA Tourism to Akwa Ibom governor.

President Buhari Appoints New DG (Budget), Special Adviser (Planning)

President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of Tijjani Mohammed Abdullahi as the Director-General (Budget).

 

Notice of the appointment is contained in a statement issued in Abuja on Monday by Mr Femi Adesina, the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the president.

 

It stated that Abdullahi, a fellow of the Certified National Accountants of Nigeria and a banker with experience in managing public finance, would replace the current Director-General (Budget), Yahaya Gusau.

 

According to the statement, the new Director-General (Budget) is expected to work with the Minister of Budget and National Planning to efficiently deliver on the mandates of the Budget Office of the Federation.

 

The President had also approved the appointment of Mr Ben Ifeanyi Akabueze as Special Adviser on Planning to the Minister of Budget and National Planning.

 

Akabueze, the immediate past Commissioner for Economic Planning and Budget in Lagos State, had worked in senior management positions in Citi Bank, Fidelity Bank, United Bank for Africa, NAL Merchant Bank, Sterling Bank and BIA Consulting Limited, among others.

 

He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Bankers; Fellow, Institute of Credit Administrators and Honorary Fellow, Chartered Institute of Bankers.

El-Rufa’i Saves Over N1.2b In Three Months, Says Special Adviser

Less than three months of his assumption, Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State has saved over N1.2billion for the government. This was made possible by his the policies of blocking leakages and cutting cost of running government, embarked upon within the period in review.

The Special Adviser on Politics to the governor, Alhaji Uba Sani, who made this disclosure in a chat with journalists, explained that the money was recovered from the free essential commodities, like rice millets, maize, sugar, groundnut oil etc, which were being shared to some wealthy people in the state during every Ramadan Fasting, Sallah and Christmas.

According to him, over N500m each was recovered from both festivity gifts, sponsorship to Hajj and Jerusalem pilgrimages annually by the state government, while the rest was recovered from the bio-metric exercise of government workers, as well as the voluntary cutting of salaries to half.
