NFF Begs Super Falcons, Says They Will Get Their Entitlements Soon

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has pledged to pay players and officials of the Senior Women National Team, Super Falcons all their entitlements for winning the Women Africa Cup of Nations for the eighth time.

The federation craved the understanding of the team, noting that the money was not readily available at the moment.

NFF General Secretary, Dr. Mohammed Sanusi, who met with the players and officials at the Agura Hotel on Tuesday, said the Federation was not happy owing players and coaches.

“There is no gainsaying that there is severe economic challenges and all organizations, whether government or private, are feeling the pinch. It is not Government’s doing; it is not anybody’s doing,” he said. “We know we have financial commitment to you [players and officials of Super Falcons] and we have not at anytime stated otherwise. But the money is not readily available at the moment.”

Sanusi said: “I have come to appeal to you, to understand the situation of the Federation, to understand the situation of the country at the present and exercise patience. We will pay you all monies you are being owed as soon as we receive same from the Government, just as we paid the U17 boys who won the FIFA U17 World Cup in Chile last year, after the tournament. And just as we sorted out Coach Samson Siasia’s wages as soon as we had the funds, after the Olympics.”

Mimiko Rushes To Meets Buhari In Aso Rock, Says Ondo May Boil

President Muhammadu Buhari and Ondo State Governor Olusegun Mimiko  met behind closed-doors at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa in Abuja.

Governor Mimiko arrived the president’s office at about 11.00am.

It was gathered that Mimiko visited the Presidential Villa in respect of the Thursday’s declaration by the Independent National Electoral Commission of Jimoh Ibrahim as the candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the Ondo governorship election.

The INEC had removed the name of Eyitayo Jegede from the list of the candidates of the political parties that would participate in the November 26 governorship election and replaced it with Ibrahim.

The governor told State House reporters today shortly after meeting behind closed-doors with Buhari that the INEC’s action could cause a conflagration in the state.

The governor said there was no moral justification for what the INEC did describing Ibrahim’s declaration as injustice and mischief.

Mimiko said President Buhari promised him that he would look into the matter.

Chibok Girl’s Baby Not For Boko Haram, Report Says 21 Released Girls Were Not Sexually Abused

One of the Chibok schoolgirls that came back with a child was already pregnant before she was abducted along with 219 other girls by Boko Haram gunmen on 14 April 2014.

A source close to negotiations to free the remaining schoolgirls told newsmen that there was no truth whatsoever in stories making the rounds that the girl was impregnated by one of her Boko Haram abductors.

The informed source clarified that contrary to some media reports, the girl had conceived before her abduction after being properly married.

“The girl and her parents have confirmed this. The child is not a Boko Haram Child,’’he said. The source also debunked stories that one of the girls came back pregnant, with some reports specifically saying one was four months pregnant.

“None of the girls released was sexually harassed or abused while in captivity by their abductors,” he said. “The current state of the girls is a source of joy as they are receiving the best medical, psychological and other forms of support from the authorities as directed by the Federal Government “All groups including the families, The Bring Back Our Girls (BBOG) and Chibok Community are happy with their condition as medical experts work to address their health conditions.

“The girls have been visited by members of International Committee of the Red Cross, which played a great role in getting the girls freed. “It is obvious to everyone that having been in captivity, the girls were traumatised but since their release, they are showing signs of recovering well,’’he said.

Rumours, speculative reports about the state of the 21 released Boko Haram captives, are said to be creating stumbling blocks to further talks with the insurgents. The insurgents were said to be angry with Government for breaching some understanding reached with them when the 21 girls were being handed over 13 october.

However, government sources have denied any link with various speculative reports, especially in the social media.

HORROR: I Met My Victim On The Internet, Says Accused Murderer

British banker, Rurik Jutting, who is accused of murdering two Indonesian women in his upscale Hong Kong apartment, was a cocaine addict who had developed drug-induced fantasies, a court heard Wednesday.

The 31-year-old Cambridge graduate and former securities trader for Bank of America-Merrill Lynch has pleaded “not guilty” to two murder charges, on the grounds of diminished responsibility.

He pleaded guilty to manslaughter, which was rejected by the prosecution.

Since the trial started Monday, jurors have viewed harrowing iPhone footage of Jutting torturing his first victim, Sumarti Ningsih, 23, for three days before he killed her by cutting her neck with a serrated knife at his apartment two years ago.

Days later, he killed Seneng Mujiasih, 26, cutting her throat.

Mujiasih’s body was found in a pool of blood in Jutting’s living room on November 1, 2014, while Ningsih’s decaying body was discovered stuffed into a suitcase on his balcony.

In court Wednesday, prosecutor John Reading said Jutting had become increasingly withdrawn and “deeply addicted to cocaine”, citing a toxicologist’s report.

Footage from police interviews played in court showed Jutting saying he had started to take more cocaine at weekends for six weeks before the killings.

“I’ve had cocaine previously, but not in such a large amount,” he told police.

“When I started taking it, it started bringing out long and extended fantasies,” he said.
Speaking calmly, he told police what he had done. “Yes I did kill her,” he told two interviewing officers. “I cut her throat. These are the only two people who have been killed by me,” he added.

Jutting told police that he had met Ningsih on the website ViolentVV under the “casual encounters” section, storing her name in his phone as “Indo”. He said that initially, he had not planned to kill her.

When asked by the interviewing officers why he had killed her, he replied: “It’s a question which I think I’ll always asks myself.”

He said he had considered flying back to see his parents in Britain before handing himself in.

The jury was shown 20 photos recovered from Jutting’s phone, including pictures of Ningsih bound and gagged, and of her body in the shower.

Forensic pathologist Poon Wai-ming told the court Ningsih had been found in a suitcase in the foetal position, her neck severed.

Jutting said that when it came to his second victim, Mujiasih, he had spent a few minutes deliberating whether to change his plan and not attack her.

“For a period of time, a short period of time, the human side of me kicked in,” Jutting said.
“I did some more coke and that side of me just went,” he added.

Ambulance officer To Shing-fai described Jutting as talking to himself and crying in the hallway outside his apartment on the night the bodies were discovered.

Jutting faces a life sentence if convicted of the murders.

The killings shone a spotlight on the seedy underbelly of the finance hub. Jutting’s flat lay streets away from one of the city’s red light districts.

Indonesian migrant organisations in Hong Kong have called for justice for the women, and compensation for their families.

May Says Brexit Vote Will Not Undermine Northern Ireland Peace Deal

There is no reason Britain’s June vote to leave the European Union should undermine a 1998 Northern Irish peace deal, Prime Minister Theresa May said on Wednesday.

Northern Ireland voted to remain in the EU and Irish nationalist parties oppose Brexit, saying it could undermine the 1998 Belfast Agreement and reinstate a hard border with the Republic of Ireland.

“I don’t believe there’s any reason to believe that the outcome of the referendum will do anything to undermine the absolute rock-solid commitment of this government and the people of Northern Ireland to the settlement that was set out in the Belfast Agreement,” May told parliament.

“There is, and remains, a strong support for the entirely peaceful future for Northern Ireland that has been determined by democracy and consent … We remain committed to that.”

Nicki Minaj Speaks On Police Brutality, Says “Black Women Go Unnoticed”

Nicki Minaj recently covered Marie Claire’s October/November 2016 edition where she also spoke on police brutality as well as the double-standard women receive in the media.

Nicki says that when all is said and done, the black women are the ones who go unnoticed the most.

“We tend to not remember the black women who are mourning these men and who are thinking, ‘Oh, my God, what am I going to tell my child now about where his father is,’ and the struggle it is for black women to then move on after they lose their husband or their boyfriend. The strong women in these inner cities often go unnoticed … no one really ever puts a hand out to them,” she says.

Nicki makes a really good point!

Let’s talk about black women’s double-standard issue in the media! We know y’all caught on to the pattern of the public praising the Kim K’s of the game when they appear on Instagram, magazine spreads, or anywhere else for that matter, almost naked. Have y’all also caught on to what happens when the Nicki Minaj’s of the game try the same thing? A contradiction of opinion is what tends to happen and Nicki is not here for it!

“When Kim Kardashian’s naked picture came out, [Sharon Osbourne] praised it, and my fans attacked her for being such a hypocrite,” noted the 33-year-old rapper. “So it wasn’t trashy and raunchy when a white woman did it, but it was when a black woman did it? It’s quite pathetic and sad, but that is my reality, and I’ve gotten accustomed to just shutting it down.”

Alleged Rapist Says His Penis Is Too Small To Rape Anyone

Jacques “Porkchop” Rouschop of Canada is currently on trial for allegedly sexually assaulting and choking two sex workers in the back of his pick-up truck in 2013.

On Thursday, his lawyer, Natasha Calvinho, tried a new argument for the jury as Rouschop pleads not guilty: His physical measurements would have prevented him from committing these crimes.

Specifically, Calvinho argued that Rouschop’s hernia “makes it too painful to have sex from behind, his stomach is too large, and his penis is way, way too small,” according to crime reporter Gary Dimmock of the National Post.

The lawyer for the 44-year-old alleged choker-rapist also called a registered nurse to the stand to testify that she had measured Rouschop and that he stands at five feet six inches, with a 66-inch waist, 31-inch thighs, and a one-inch penis (two inches when erect).

Jury members were also given naked photographs of Rouschop during the trial. The Ottawa Citizen reports that according to one of Rouschop’s alleged victims, Rouschop had paid her for oral sex, and when she refused to do more, he flipped her over and choked her — repeatedly asking “Who’s in charge now?” — until she passed out.

Rouschop’s other alleged victim testifies that when she refused to do more than oral sex, Rouschop choked her and raped her from behind, leading her to lose consciousness.

In her arguments, Calvinho is also highlighting the fact that Rouschop, a registered sex offender since 2005, was a prime suspect in the unsolved 2013 murder of sex worker Amy Paul. While he was never charged, “He believes he is the subject of a witch hunt,” Calvinho told the jury.

Celine Dion Says That Her Late Husband Is The Only Man She’s Ever Kissed

Celine Dion has us feeling all of the feelings once again, talking about her late husband René Angélil, who died this last January after a long battle with throat cancer.

During an interview with CBS’s Mo Rocca, the singer shared that Angélil, her husband of 21 years, is the only man she has ever kissed in her entire life.

“Before he left, it was very, very difficult for all of us,” Dion said. “For me especially, and my children, to see the man of my life die a little bit more every day. And when he left, it was kind of a relief for me that the man that I love, the only man that I kissed, the only man that I loved. Yeah. I never kissed another man in my life. So the man of my life was my partner, and we were one. So when he stopped suffering, I said to myself, he’s okay. And he deserves not to suffer.”

The couple had been together since Dion was 19 years old. After several years of quietly dating, Dion eventually revealed her love for him in the liner notes of her 1993 album The Colour of My Love and they married in a lavish wedding in 1994.

When Rocca asked her if she hoped to fall in love again in the future, she said, “not now.”

“I’m still in love with him,” she explained. “And I have the love of my children. I have the love of my fans. I love the people that I work with. So my life is not empty of love.”

AMAZING! Find Out What The Chinese Zodiac Says About You

The Chinese zodiac is based on a 12-year cycle, with an animal representing each year. As 2016 is the year of the monkey, it is believed that those born under this sign will have a good year with plenty of luck and opportunities ahead.

The Chinese zodiacs are determined by birth year, and every zodiac gets the spotlight every 12 years. Chinese folklore says that their order was determined by a race, which the rat won, only by riding on the ox’s back until it was able to cross the finish line first.

According to Chinese zodiac, your birth year is telling of more than just your age. The Chinese believe that the animal ruling your birth year has a profound influence on personality, relationships and destiny. Which zodiac are you?

23 Life Lessons Learned by Age 23 #opesays

So this was supposed to have been written on my 23rd birthday some months back, but I was holed up planning the way ahead and reflecting on the past. So here I am. What better time than at the end of the year shey? So here goes, 23 life lessons I’ve gleaned by age 23.

  1. Only you must look out for you. No matter how many people you think love you, they have their own lives to live at the end of the day. So take care of you.
  2. Your mind is your most powerful weapon. Not money. Not influence or power. Your mind. Shield it, feed it and guard it with your life. Your mind can ruin you and it can create wonders for you.
  3. Bad news is what it is. Bad news. Be it people, a newspaper story or an event. Stay away from bad news as must as possible. A piece of your mind dies every time you’re exposed to bad news.
  4. Intelligence is overrated. What matters most is common sense. Sadly, it is not common.
  5. Nothing would be handed to you on a platter of gold. You will have to fight for it. Heck, you will have to bite, scratch, and fight dirty for it.
  6. Marriage is not your first purpose in life. It is good to fall in love and get married, but it is not your primary purpose. Your purpose is fulfilling destiny.
  7. Trust is overrated. Trust no one, not even yourself.
  8. Money comes and goes, men come and go, friends come and go, but family remains with you. Not always because they love you, but because they have no choice.
  9. Love is dangerous territory, even if it seems sweet. Tread carefully
  10. You will change. The ‘me’ from years ago won’t even recognize the ‘me’ now. Just make sure that the change is good.
  11. You may not be where you want to be yet, but trust that it will unfold in time.
  12. Your enemy is never your enemy. Your enemy is your friend. Have fun while he teaches you and helps you grow
  13. Sadly, you’ll always underestimate yourself; but let your estimation always be closer to the truth.
  14. Books are powerful agents of change. They pour into a man’s soul thousands of years of wisdom. Read frequently and easily.
  15. Listen to music and often too. Do it especially when you’re sad, it’s the best cure to lift your spirits.
  16. Love life. Live life with vigour and zest. No matter how small, make every moment count.
  17. Do not celebrate when you achieve small successes. Instead plan a way to maintain them and move to a higher level. It is always harder to stand at the apex of a pyramid, you can easily fall.
  18. Have very few friends and a million acquaintances. Many won’t care or even want your success.
  19. If anything makes you happy, do it. You may come back bruised and wounded, but you would have learnt your lesson. Life is ephemeral, so why choose sadness?
  20. Have your head in the cloud and your feet firmly planted on the ground. Dream and fantasize but work your a** off.
  21. People care only about themselves. To get ANYTHING from ANYONE; make them feel good about themselves.
  22. Move with the right people. If you want to fly with the eagles, do not swim with ducks. Force yourself into the circle of the right people ,if you have to.
  23. You need God. Scratch that, your passion should be an all-consuming, fiery flame that never abates. I don’t mean religion. I mean a personal relationship, so passionate, so beautiful, that it changes you and makes you become a better person. When you have this, life will be complete.

Oomph and peace,

Opemipo Adebanjo
