Moses Doing Great Job For Chelsea – Alonso

Chelsea wing-back Marcos Alonso has paid tribute to Super Eagles forward Victor Moses for his impact for the English Premier League leaders so far this term.

Moses has been a regular in the Chelsea team this term and has been one of the key performers in Antonio Conte’s 3-4-3 formation.

The Nigeria international had previously struggled to make much of an impact at Stamford Bridge but seems to have blossomed under the former Juventus manager, scoring three goals in 21 league appearances from his wing-back position.

Speaking to Chelsea’s website, Alonso said: “I think it is a good balance for the team (Moses’ right wing-back role).

“There was no need for us to talk to each other before about what we were going to do. A lot of games he goes more forward and I maybe stay more at the back, but that also depends on how the other team plays and it’s good to have variation and different options.

“Victor is doing a great job and hopefully we can keep helping the team as we have been doing in the previous games.”

“Give me any role, I will deliver”, Victor Moses tells Rohr.

Victor Moses says he will play any position on the field to help the Super Eagles to victory over Algeria’s Desert Foxes in their Russia 2018 World Cup Group B qualifier in Uyo on Saturday.

Moses has nailed down a regular first-team role at Chelsea after the Blues’ Italian manager Antonio Conte made him an integral part of his plans, deploying the 25-year-old Nigeria winger in his 3-4-3 system as a wing-back. The system has seen the 2012 UEFA Champions League champions picking up maximum points in five Premier League games on the spin.

Moses, who represented Nigeria at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, said on Thursday he would play any role given him by Nigeria manager Gernot Rohr in the tricky Uyo clash.

“I can’t say I’m not happy playing as a wing-back, I’m the type who gives his all to his team regardless of where I’m playing from,” the South Africa 2013 Africa Cup of Nations winner told reporters.

“I’m a forward minded player but I don’t mind playing anywhere to help my team.”

The former Wigan player added, “Club side and national team are not the same. I can’t say where the manager will play me but I’m ready to give my best in any role.”

On his part, Nigeria midfielder Ogenyi Onazi predicted a tough game against Algeria.

“Any side playing against Nigeria these days tend to raise their game so we know the task ahead of us,” the Turkey-based player said.

“We don’t want to talk too much in the press but just focus on what we have to do.”

He added, “We don’t need to speak too much but we will try to concentrate on ourselves.

“We also want Nigerians to know that the game against Algeria on Saturday is not going to be easy.”

Meanwhile, Algeria forward Riyad Mahrez says the Desert Foxes will run out winners at the Uyo Stadium on Saturday.

“We will make the necessary efforts to snatch this qualification and it will pass by a victory against Nigeria. We are determined more than ever to go home with victory because we have a team of brother warriors and we will prove it on the field to make our people proud of Algeria,” the Leicester City winger wrote on his Facebook page.

The PFA Player of the Year award winner, who is on the 30-man shortlist for the 2016 Ballon d’Or after scoring 17 goals and claiming 11 assists on Leicester’s way to the Premier League title last season, is expected to give Nigeria defenders a torrid time.

Is Atiku Our Moses?

It’s no longer news that the former Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Alh. Atiku Abubakar is aiming to govern this country. There have been campaigns in all nooks and cranny of the country.

Personally, I never thought Atiku could be our ‘Moses’ but recent events has proved otherwise, the way his campaign is being structured both online and offline has been very impressive and he has won so many people with him.

WHAT DOES THE THE AVERAGE NIGERIAN THINK OF ATIKU?

  • He is corrupt.
  • He embezzled billions while in office.
  • He unethically privatized public institutions, sold them to himself and his allies.
  • He is CORRUPT.
  • HE IS CORRUPT

HOW CAN WE BE SO SURE HE IS CORRUPT?

  • How else can you explain his immense wealth? (Meaning every wealthy Nigerian is corrupt? Dangote, Abiola, Adenuga?) SMH
  • Well, he has to be corrupt, he was in Customs. (Meaning everyone in Customs is/was corrupt?)
  • He was Vice President for 8 years and he enriched himself. (He declared his assets when he ran for presidency in 1993. He was a multi-millionare (in dollars) then.)

And when they have nothing else to say;

  • Well, Obasanjo said he is corrupt. (And OBJ said that just because Atiku refused to support his 3rd term bid)

MEANWHILE

  • Atiku has always had a nose for business. He became a very wealthy man when he started Intels with an Italian business man named Volpi. His only crime was starting it while he was still a Customs officer. But is that a crime? In this Nigeria where everyone is advised to get a Side Hustle, to add to one’s income?
  • In his Customs days, Atiku had one of the highest records of revenue returns to the government
  • When Atiku exposed Buhari’s 53 suitcases issue, and the junta ordered that he be fired, the minister of finance, Dr Soleye, found he had such a good record at the customs, there was no ground to even order an official query.
  • Atiku, through the various businesses he created BEFORE he joined Politics is responsible for over 50,000 jobs, nationwide
  • Atiku started, and has been sponsoring the Adamawa Peace Initiative (API), an interfaith initiative working to ensure that peace is maintained in the state. This API is the reason the (religious) uprising and riots in most northern states never get to Adamawa.
  • Atiku has awarded over 10,000 scholarships to Nigerians from all ethnicities. 10% of the students in the AUN, his group of schools, are on Scholarships. Only recently, 15 of the Chibok girls who escaped from Boko Haram were admitted and are being rehabilitated there.
  • Atiku has refused to play dirty politics. Rather than hit the opposition below the belt by exposing their many deficiencies and inefficiencies, he is focusing his campaign on his strengths, groundbreaking ideas, innovative policies, etc

Alhaji Abubakar’s declaration speech got me drenched in tears, I was amazed with the passion, he clearly stated the problems and gave his short and long-term solutions. He addressed the issues without sentiments. Of recent , Alh Atiku Abubakar called a world press conference as regards the recent capture of Mubi ( the President has not responded to it till date), he focused on the issues, he propagated solutions, I was taken aback with the way the press conference went.

Mr President is on his way to Burkinafaso at the moment while Bokoharam members are renaming a town in Adamawa state, I don’t know whether to start to weeping but I won’t, the future is bright.

I AM NOT A POLITICIAN! I WANT THE BEST FOR MY COUNTRY!! I WANT A ‘MOSES’ THAT WILL LEAD US TO THE PROMISED LAND AND I BELIEVE ATIKU ABUBAKAR IS THE MAN.
