Baby wakes from coma as doctors were about to turn off life-support machine

A miracle baby came out of a coma the moment doctors were ready to turn off her life support machine.

According to MirrorUK, one-year-old Marwa was hospitalized in September, in an induced coma after suffering from a virus that caused severe neurological disorders.
Against parent’s wishes, the doctors, citing “aggressive therapy”, wanted to disconnect the device that was keeping her alive.

The parents, from Algeria, started a petition on Facebook , “Not without my Marwa”, to help raise funds to challenge their decision.
With over 70,000 signatures, the court ruled in favour of an “extension of care” at La Timone hopsital, Marseille, for two months.
But doctors were insistent that they would fight to turn off the respirator sooner – terminating her life – arguing that she will never walk, eat, or breathe independently.
Just ten days later, Marwa woke.

The footage, shared by her dad on Facebook , shows the baby react to his voice and even smile.

“Her treatment continues, but we see daily progress, and it gives us great hope.
“When I talk to her, she hears my voice, she reacts, sometimes she smiles,” he told a local news site .

Marwa Leads Supporters Back To APC

A week after his formal resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party, a former military administrator of Lagos and Borno States and Nigeria’s ex-Envoy to South Africa, Gen. Mohammed Buba Marwa (retd), on Wednesday returned to the All Progressives Congress with thousands of his supporters across Adamawa state.

A statement issued in Abuja by Marwa’s media aide, Bello Zubairu, said,  “the decision to return to the APC was jointly reached at a well attended meeting today (Wednesday) between Marwa and his supporters under the aegis of ‘The Marwa Organization.’”

He quoted Marwa as reminding the gathering that they had no reason to leave APC before but for the fact that thousands of TMO members were denied registration into APC in Adamawa State when the party was newly formed.

Marwa told his supporters that, “All efforts to seek redress through the appropriate channels were to no avail, thus leaving thousands of you, TMO members, without a party. I therefore  urge you all to forgo your grievances and let bygones be bygones because with President
Muhammadu Buhari in the saddle, such impunity won’t happen again.

“Nigerians and all elected and appointed officials across the country should support President Buhari and work for positive change in Nigeria.”

Marwa Dumps PDP

In what can best be described as a big blow to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), former military governor of Lagos State, Gen Mohammed Buba Marwa, has resigned from the party.

A statement issued on Monday in Abuja by his media aide, Bello Zubairu, said “the former military governor decided to quit the PDP on personal grounds.”

It would be recalled that before the emergence of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Gen Marwa was the governorship candidate of the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) in Adamawa State and after the merger of CPC and other opposition parties to form the APC, thousands of his supporters from several local government areas of the state were technically allegedly denied the opportunity to register in the new party then.

Though the statement was silent on whether Marwa will be returning to the APC, it however stated that “the retired general will be making public, his next line of action in the coming days.”

He appealed to his numerous supporters and well-wishers who have been calling him for direction from across the country to await his next move, the statement added.
