Suspected Herdsmen Kill 3, Raze Houses In Kaduna Villages

Suspected herdsmen have killed three persons in Dogon Daji community and torched part of Antang Village, near Godogodo in Jema’a Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

The  Godogodo axis has been under intense siege of alleged herdsmen since July.

According to the residents of the affected villages, the itinerant herdsmen  have been forcing them out of their communities, claiming that their farmlands have been designated as Grazing Reserves by the government.

The council’s Acting  Chairman Humble Katuka who confirmed the raids, said that only two were killed in Dogon Daji and two houses burnt in Antang.

He said: “Report reaching me said that two people were killed in Dogon Daji, and then they burnt two houses in Atang.

“They diverted the attention of the police and soldiers stationed in Godogodo and sneaked to these areas to wreak havoc. But, security have been beefed up and I shall personally go there later to inspect what has happened.”

However, a source from Dogon Daji said: “This morning (yesterday), a group of herdsmen attacked our village (Dogon Daji). They killed three people. And injured about six others. I am not sure, because we have to move out women and children. Then, the armed herdsmen moved to Antang and burnt part of the village and injured some people.”

Boko Haram Suicide Bombers Kill 3 Nigerian Refugees In Cameroon

Two female suicide bombers, suspected of belonging to militant group Boko Haram?,? have killed three Nigerians in a truck full of refugees in a town in Cameroon’s far north region, a local government source, said.

Military sources had said earlier that they suspected the bombers’ target was a nearby mosque in Fotokol.

The first bomb went off during a security check and it was unclear if the second bomber had detonated her bomb or whether she had been killed first by Cameroonian forces.

Boko Haram insurgents had waged a six-year campaign of violence, killing thousands of people and displacing many from their communities in north eastern part of Nigeria.

Neighbouring countries, including Cameroon, joined forces against the group in 2014, as its offensive spread beyond Nigeria’s borders.

Women Suicide Bombers Kill 3 In Cameroon Mosque Attack

Three people died in a fresh attack on a mosque by two women suicide bombers Monday in northern Cameroon, a region repeatedly targeted by Boko Haram Islamists, residents and security sources said.

“A (woman) kamikaze blew herself up near a mosque in Fotokol. A second one was neutralised and killed. It was obvious the two suicide bombers were targeting the mosque,” a local source told AFP.

“Three civilians also died,” added a security source who asked not to be named.

The attack was similar to others in the remote region bordering Lake Chad claimed by Nigerian Islamist group Boko Haram, and occurred 24 hours after two suicide bombers left two dead and 14 injured across the border in Chadian town Ngouboua on Sunday.

Both Ngouboua and Fotokol have come under attack several times from Boko Haram fighters in the past.
