JUST IN: Femi Fani-Kayode’s corruption trial stalled due to health condition.

The trial of a former Aviation Minister, Femi Fani-Kayode was on Wednesday stalled due to the inability of the defendant to attend trial.

Mr. Fani-Kayode was charged on November 10 at an Abuja division of the Federal High Court for alleged diversion of N26 million. He was charged by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.

Apart from the five-count charge at the Abuja Division, Mr. Fani-Kayode is also facing separate charges at another court in Lagos.

At the Lagos Court, Mr. Fani-Kayode is charged alongside a former minister of finance, Nenadi Usman, and Danjuma Yusuf.

They were charged by the EFCC on 17 counts bordering on money laundering to the tune of over N4 billion.

That trial had been stalled in November following the detention of Mr. Fani-Kayode.

The trial in Abuja was billed to continue on Wednesday, but was also stalled following the defendant’s health situation.

Mr. Fani-Kayode’s lawyer, Wale Balogun, informed the court that his client was ill and therefore could not attend the trial.

Mr. Balogun presented a medical report to the trial judge, John Tsoho, and asked for an adjournment to allow his client attend to his health, before proceeding with the trial.

The prosecution made no counter application, so the matter was adjourned till February 6, 2017.

Fani-Kayode Released After 24days In Detention

Former spokesperson of ex- President Goodluck Jonathan’s campaign organisation, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode has been released from detention at the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC cell and Kuje prison after spending twenty four days in these places. Fani-Kayode who was released Monday said he gave thanks to God and Nigerians who were with him during the travail.

A statement in Abuja Monday by his Media Advisor, Jude Ndukwe read thus, “After 24 days in detention at the EFCC and Kuje prison and after meeting all the conditions of bail that was granted to him by the Federal High Court in Abuja, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode has been released.

“He gives thanks to God for everything and he has asked me to convey his heartfelt appreciation and love to all those that prayed for and encouraged him and his family at this difficult time and indeed throughout this ordeal.

“He will now focus on getting the medical attention that he needs. He wishes to let all those that have offered him support and that have stood by him throughout this period know that his resolve to help build a better Nigeria and stand up for righteousness and truth remains strong.

“No matter what comes our way we trust the Lord and we believe that we shall prevail”

Continued detention stalls Fani-Kayode’s trial.

The trial of a former Minister of Aviation, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode for money laundering before a Federal High Court sitting in Lagos was stalled on Monday following his continued Defence in June prison.

Fani-Kayode, who was the former director of media and publicity of the campaign committee of ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, is charged alongside a former minister of finance, Nenadi Usman, and Danjuma Yusuf by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on a 17-count bordering on money laundering.

At the resumed hearing on Monday, Fani-Kayode’s counsel, Wale Balogun, informed the court that his client was not in court due to his arrest at the last sitting on October 21 by operatives of EFCC.

He said EFCC had since then incarcerated him in Kuje prison.

“My lord, I recall that on October 21, I informed this court that the EFCC were planning an arrest of the second accused.

“And I remember that my lord advised that in view of his pending trial before the court, he should be invited here whenever the need arises.

“My lord, on the said day, after the court had risen, the second accused was arrested within the court’s premises.

“I requested for an arrest warrant from the leader who informed me that there was none to that effect but told me that the order was `from above’.

“The second accused was taken to the EFCC Lagos and kept till 5 p.m. when another order came from `above’ to move him to Abuja immediately.

“My lord, the second accused was kept in custody of the prosecution for 21 days without any word,’’ he told the court.

“He was finally arraigned on November 10 before your learned brother Justice John Tsoho in Abuja, on a five-count charge bordering on N26 million.

“He was subsequently remanded at the Kuje prisons and in view of this, we are helpless, as his bail conditions have not been perfected in spite of frantic efforts by family and friends.’’

In his response, the prosecutor, Rotimi Oyedepo, told the court that he was aware of the arraignment of the second accused but added that his arraignment before the Abuja division of the court had nothing to do with the instant case.

He argued that the subsequent arrest of the accused was with a view to serving him with the charge and not to disrespect the court.

Mr. Oyedepo urged the court to grant an adjournment so as to allow the accused appear and stand trial.

Justice Muslim Hassan then ruled that “I will refrain from making any comment in relation to the arrest of the second accused in the court’s premises in spite of being granted bail.

“This case is adjourned at the instance of the prosecution to December 12, while the earlier date of November 15 is hereby vacated,’’ he ruled.

Fani-Kayode Must Not Die In Detention– PDP

The Peoples Democratic Party has said a former Minister of Aviation, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, must not be allowed to die in the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.

The PDP said the arrest of the former Spokesperson for the PDP Presidential Campaign Organisation was what it described as the latest in a series of plans designed to further harass and intimidate its members and supporters using the security and intelligence apparatus of the Nigerian State.

Spokesperson for the former ruling party, Prince Dayo Adeyeye, stated this in a statement in Abuja on Tuesday.

Adeyeye alleged that since his arrest, the former minister had not been able to take his medication.

He said, “What is not common knowledge is that at the time of his arrest, Fani-Kayode was ill and taking medication.

“Since his arrest, he has been denied access to his medication and medical doctors who are
conversant with his medical history.

“As of the time of writing this statement, officials of the EFCC have continued to deny Fani-Kayode access to his medication.

“The only conclusion that can be reached is that the All Progressives Congress- led Federal Government and EFCC want Fani-Kayode to die in detention.”

Adeyeye accused the EFCC of detaining “an obviously weak and ill man.”

He alleged that the the action of the commission violates the constitutional rights and freedoms of the Nigerian people, and called on the government to halt such action.

“The Federal Government cannot, and must not, be allowed to continually infringe on the rights of the very people it swore to uphold,” he added.

The former minister of works called on all well meaning Nigerians to urge the Federal Government to desist from what he described as “its path of human rights abuses.”

Fani-Kayode ‘Slumps’ In EFCC Custody– Aide

Former Aviation Minister, Femi Fani-Kayode, slumped while in the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Saturday, his aide has said.

Mr. Fani-Kayode was promptly revived by a team at the EFCC’s medical facility, the minister’s spokesperson, Jude Ndukwe, said in a statement Tuesday.

“But for the quick and professional intervention of the medical team in the EFCC medical facilities, the story could have been different, it could have been fatal!” he said.

“We must commend the medical staff at the Commission’s medical facility. They were prompt in their response, and very impressive in their care. It is very heartwarming to know that some professionals have not allowed the political witch hunt and persecution of political opponents and perceived enemies taint their professional calling. We hope this extends to all facets of the Nigerian society.”

Mr. Fani-Kayode, who served as the director of media and publicity for the Goodluck Jonathan presidential election campaign team in 2015, was arrested on Friday by the EFCC on allegations of corruption. He had earlier been released after being held for 67 days.

The outspoken former minister is currently standing trial for allegedly receiving illicit funds from former National Security Adviser.

He denies wrongdoing, and accuses the Buhari administration of targeting him as part of a wider campaign to silence opposition politicians.

Mr. Ndukwe said Mr. Fani-Kayode’s health condition had been communicated to the EFCC, and blasted the commission for re-arresting him.

Fani-Kayode Talks Tough After Prison Release

Fresh out of prisons where he was remanded for two months as he faced corruption trial before a Federal High Court, a former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, came out swinging Friday night, using his first press statement since his release to lob scathing assaults against Muhammadu Buhari’s administration.

Mr. Fani-Kayode, who was announced released only a few hours ago after spending 67 days in Ikoyi Prisons, said his arrest and ongoing trial were a handiwork of Mr. Buhari’s government that aimed to “silence me, break me, discredit me and destroy.”

Until Friday, Mr. Fani-Kayode had remained detained since he was first arrested on May 9, 2016, after honouring an invitation from Nigeria’s flagship anti-corruption agency, the EFCC.

Mr. Fani-Kayode was later transferred to Lagos where authorities slammed a 17-count charge on him, mostly bothering on allegations that the one-time Minister of Culture and Tourism benefitted from stolen public funds during the 2015 general elections.

After weeks in detention, Mr. Fani-Kayode was granted a N250 million bail on July 4, but he was still kept in custody pending his meeting the requirements for his bail.

“I give thanks to God that I am free after 67 days in detention,” Mr. Fani-Kayode said. “I thank my wife, lawyers, children and friends for all their support.”

Mr. Fani-Kayode said his ordeal behind bars marked the worst moment of his life and emphasised his innocence.

“This was the worst experience of my life but God was with me all the way. I suffered immeasurably but I count it all as joy.  I am innocent of all charges and I look forward to defending myself vigorously in court.

“These charges are politically motivated and I have been severely punished for my political views and criticisms of the government,” Mr. Fani-Kayode said.

EFCC Arraigns Ex-Ministers, Fani-Kayode, Nenadi-Usman For Allegedly Laundering N4.9 billion

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on Tuesday arraigned a former aviation minister, Femi Fani-Kayode, accusing him and three others of laundering N4.9 billion.

A planned arraignment of Mr. Fani-Kayode was stalled last Tuesday by the absence of the trial judge.

Judge Sule Hassan’s absence was said to be due to an “official function”.

Mr. Fani-Kayode, who served as director of media and publicity during the campaign of former President Goodluck Jonathan, is facing a 17-count charge bordering on unlawful retention, use, and payment of money in the tune of about N4.9 billion.

Others charged alongside the former minister are Nenadi Usman, former finance minister; Danjuma Yusuf; and a company, Joint Trust Dimension Nig. Ltd.

According to the EFCC’s charge, the accused were alleged to have committed the offences between January and March 2015.

In counts one to seven, they were alleged to have unlawfully retained over N3.8 billion which they “reasonably ought to have known” formed part of the proceeds of an unlawful act of stealing and corruption.

EFCC Wants Me To Refund N840m Without Trial- Fani-Kayode

Former Aviation Minister, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, has asked the Federal High Court, Lagos, to admit him to bail 24 hours after he was arraigned on a 17-count charged by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). He also alleged that he is being pressured by EFCC to refund N84o million without trial.

In the motion for bail filed on his behalf by his counsel, Mr. Ahmed Raji (SAN), Fani-Kayode told the court that he would be ready and willing to provide a responsible surety(ies) as may be required by the court as a condition(s) for the grant of his application.

He argued that under the Administration of Criminal Justice Act (ACJA), bail is more relaxed as all offences are bailable “and in the class of offences charged, it is the prosecution that has a burden to show why bail should be refused. More so, under the Act, all offences can be compounded by plea bargain. So, it is not about imprisonment any longer.”

He further argued that one of the co-accused in the charge, a former Minister of Finance, Senator Nenadi Usman, who allegedly received the money from government and paid Fani-Kayode, wrote that she did not know the money was from government. So, how would Fani- Kayode know?

EFCC slammed Fani- Kayode and Usman with a 17-count charge for fraud and money laundering.

Fani-Kayode was arrested for allegedly receiving N840 million during the presidential campaign of former president Goodluck Jonathan.

In the motion dated June 15, 2016, Raji argued that the offences, for which his client is charged, are bailable.

“The Defendant/Applicant has never been convicted of any offence in Nigeria or any other jurisdiction.

By Section 36 (5) of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 (as amended), the Defendant/Applicant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.

“The reputation and past credible record of the Defendant/Applicant attest to the fact that he will not jump bail if he is granted same. The Defendant/ Applicant will not interfere with the investigation or further investigation of the charges preferred against him.”

EFCC Detaining Fani-Kayode After Meeting Bail Conditions, Silencing Of Opposition- Aide

Jude Ndukwe, aide to erstwhile Aviation Minister, Femi Fani-Kayode, on Tuesday, decried that despite meeting the bail conditions set by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Fani-Kayode was still being held by the anti-graft agency.

Ndukwe in a statement condemned the continued detention of the former minister by the EFCC, describing it as a tactics to keeping key and vocal members of the opposition out of circulation without due regard to Nigerian laws.

The statement read: “This tactics of keeping key and vocal members of the opposition out of circulation without due regard to our laws and or harass them with charges that cannot stand the test of judicial requirements has got to stop. The sweet smelling savour of democracy will be polluted when the opposition is stifled.

“The continued detention of Chief Femi Fani-Kayode in EFCC custody for this long, despite meeting his bail conditions goes a long way to show that this fight is not about corruption after all, but all about silencing the opposition.

“We condemn in very strong terms these acts of intimidation and harassment and request that he (Chief Fani-Kayode) be released forthwith, even as we call on all well-meaning Nigerians to know who to hold responsible should anything untoward happen to Chief Femi Fani-Kayode!

“This act of executive rascality, at a time when Nigerians are groaning more than ever before over the economic hardship inflicted on them by this administration, is needless. It will achieve nothing but will only lead to a puerile end.”

EFCC Searches Fani-Kayode’s House, Arrests Domestic Help

Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on Thursday stormed the Abuja home of a former Minister of Aviation, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, and arrested a domestic servant.
It was learnt that the operatives stormed the house located at 5 Zuma Close, Aso Drive, Abuja in the afternoon and searched the compound.
However, the detectives could not gain access to the main building as it was said to have been locked.
The spokesman for Fani-Kayode, Mr. Jude Ndukwe, told our correspondent on the telephone that the operatives stormed the compound without a search warrant.
Ndukwe said, “Operatives of the EFCC invaded the home again. They did not even have a search warrant but harassed everyone in the compound.
“They could not gain access to the main building so they decided to search the quarters where the domestic servants reside. They arrested the laundry man and took him to their office but later released him.
“Chief Fani-Kayode is already in their custody. I wonder why they are still behaving this way even though he has been cooperating with them. This executive rascality must stop.”
The ex-minister was on Monday arrested by the EFCC for allegedly receiving N840m in February 2015 when he was the spokesman for the Goodluck Jonathan Campaign Organisation.
The money which Fani-Kayode admitted to receiving was said to have emanated from the account of the Central Bank of Nigeria.
The ex-minister, however, said he did not know that the money emanated from the account of the CBN.

Fani- Kayode, Falae, Others Named In Alleged N3.145bn Fraud

Investigators at the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, said Monday they have uncovered evidence showing how prominent politicians, mostly from the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, allegedly shared N3.145billion in the build up to the last presidential election.
Named in the alleged bazaar are a former aviation minister and director of media for the Goodluck Jonathan Campaign organization, Femi Fani-kayode; former Secretary to the Government of the Federation and leader of the Social Democratic Party, Olu Falae; a former finance minister, Nenadi Usman; a former Imo state governor, Achike Udenwa; former minister of state for foreign affairs, Viola Onwuliri and politician Okey Ezenwa
A source at the anti-graft agency, who pleaded not to be named because he was not authorized to speak on the matter, said the money was paid by the Central Bank Nigeria into the account of the Ministry of External Affairs Library, from where it was moved into the account of a private firm, Joint Trust Dimension Nigeria Limited.
“It was from the Joint Dimension’s account with Zenith Bank that the money was shared to various individuals and organizations for purposes that are not stated,” the source said.
The sources described Mr. Fani-Kayode was the chief beneficiary of the disbursement as he allegedly received a whooping N840million, paid in three tranches into his Zenith Bank, Maitama branch, with number 1004735721.
The first tranche of payment involving N350million allegedly hit the account on February 19, 2015.

‘If Sheriff Is A Goliath, Then He Has Met His David’- Fani-Kayode

Chief Femi Fani-Kayode has reacted to Senator Ali Modu Sheriff’s threat that he will be dealt with.

The former Aviation Minister, in a statement, said he is amused by the Senator’s threat and he is waiting with baited breath for his actions.

Mr Fani-Kayode who is a member of the PDP and one of the party leaders who are unhappy with the process which brought Senator Ali Modu Sheriff as the new PDP national chairman, criticised the emergence of the former governor of Borno State as the new PDP Chairman, raising allegations of a link of the new party leader with the Boko Haram sect, a terrorist group which has killed hundreds of innocent Nigerians since it began its operations few years ago.

The former minister says “we are more than ready to meet Senator Ali Modu Sheriff in court. It would be a pleasure to expose him for what he is. The days of intimidating, silencing and threatening others are long over.

“If sheriff is a Goliath, let him be rest assured that he has finally met his David. Needless to say we stand by everything that we have said,”he added.

Fani-Kayode: Modu Sheriff; Who Has Bewitched The PDP?

On 16th of February, 2016, the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) adopted Senator Ali Modu Sheriff (aka SAS), a two-time ANPP Governor of Borno state, a former ANPP senator, the former Chairman of the All Peoples Congress (APC) Board of Trustees and the indisputable founder of Boko Haram as its Acting National Chairman.Modu-Sheriff is also the erstwhile godfather and sponsor of Governor Shettima Ali, the present APC Governor of Borno State (until they fell out), he is a man that has a very deep and profound relationship and association with Idris Deby, the President of Chad and he is a man whose son is married to the daughter of President Muhammadu Buhari. Many have argued that his allegiance is more to the Republic of Chad than it is to Nigeria, that he is an agent of the Chadian intelligence agencies and that he is a Chadian citizen who often flaunts his Chadian passport.

I cannot confirm the veracity of these assertions but one thing that I know is that most of Modu Sheriff’s funding and stupendous wealth emanates primarily from the Republic of Chad and that that country is as much a home to him as is Nigeria. Yet it is not his connection with Chad that give me cause for concern. Rather it is his role in the establishment of Boko Haram. The truth is that appointing him as our National Chairman is like appointing Jack the Ripper as the leader of the Conservative party in Victorian England. Kudos must go to the elders in the PDP Board of Trustees, a number of State Party Chairmen and a number of key individuals in the PDP Ministers Forum for taking a courageous and noble stand by rejecting and resisting the imposition of this abominable monstrosity. What Ali Modu Sheriff stands for and represents is utterly repugnant to every fiber of my being. Yet I have no objection to his being a member of the PDP simply because politics is a game of numbers. It is a game in which everyone, no matter how big or small, counts. If you want your party to grow and make progress you must accept the good, the bad and the ugly.

To this end when he left the APC and joined the PDP sometime back, I was one of those that gladly welcomed him into our ranks and defended him in the public realm. This was at a time when others criticized the party for accepting him. There is however a world of difference between accepting him as one of the many leaders of the PDP and appointing him as the National Chairman. Others may seek to justify such a course of action but I cannot, in good conscience, do so. To me it is a matter of principle. If we accept this then on what moral grounds did we condemn or oppose the APC or the APC-led Federal Government during the course of the last Presidential election? If we are comfortable with the likes of Ali Modu Sheriff leading us then on what basis did we criticize and oppose President Muhammadu Buhari for appearing to support Boko Haram when he said ”an attack on Boko Haram is an attack on the north”?

If we insist on Ali Modu Sheriff being our National Chairman then we may as well go and apologize to the APC for all our past criticisms and condemnations and join them. On what basis can we accept as our National Chairman a man who established, encouraged, supported and nurtured an organisation that later metamorphosised into Boko Haram? This is a terrorist organisation whose ultimate objective is to turn Nigeria into an Islamic fundamentalist state by the use of terror and the force of arms? On what basis can we accept a man to lead us whose Commissioner of Religious Affairs when he was Governor of Borno state, one Alhaji Buji Foi, was the de facto operational commander of Boko Haram. The man was later murdered by those closest to him after investigations into who and how Boko Haram was founded commenced. On what basis can we accept as our National Chairman a man who helped to create an organisation that wishes to establish sharia as the norm in our country, repeal all our criminal and civil laws, ban all our civil liberties and human rights, proscribe the teaching of western education in our schools, turn our women into 6th century sex slaves and abrogate the secularity of our state.

On what basis can we accept as our leader a man who supported a group that wishes to suspend our constitution, wipe out the Christian faith and the practice of moderate Islam in our country and create an evil ISIL-type empire in our nation? I really do wonder whether those that made this decision have lost all sense of rationality? I wonder whether they have lost their ability to see reason properly and to exercise their discretion in a logical, responsible and lucid manner? I wonder whether they have lost their fear of God? I wonder whether they have forgotten the evil that was visited on our people, and is still being visited on them, over the last seven years by Boko Haram? I wonder whether they know at whose instance it was that Mohammed Yusuf, the erstwhile leader of Boko Haram, was killed by our security forces whilst in police custody in 2009 just so that he wouldn’t live to tell the whole world who gave him the funds to set up his murderous cult? I wonder whether they have forgotten the terrible havoc that Boko Haram unleashed on our citizens? I wonder whether they have forgotten the tears, wailing and suffering of the bereaved. I wonder whether they have forgotten the slaughter of the innocents. I wonder whether they have forgotten those that were beheaded, those that were chopped to pieces and thrown down wells like dog meat and those that were burnt alive? I wonder whether they have forgotten the savage and bestial rape, murder and abduction of the Chibok girls and all the other little girls that suffered a similar fate in recent times? I wonder whether they have forgotten that our nation is still at war with the bloodthirsty barbarians that committed these atrocities? Since when did we, as a political party, lose our memories and jettison our moral compass in this way?

Since when did we become so callous, shameless and insensitive? Since when did greed and the lust for power and money determine and motivate our every course of action? Since when did we throw away caution, decency and principle? Since when did we become so barbarous and uncivilized? Since when did so few make a decision that will affect the lives and fortunes of so many in a profoundly negative way? Have we forgotten about the priests and servants of the Living God that were crucified by Boko Haram at their own church alters? Have we forgotten those that had their homes, schools, churches, mosques and properties pillaged, robbed and burnt to the ground by this group of godless Phillistines? Have we forgotten that the international community, through the International Terror Index, has rightly described Boko Haram as the ”most deadly terrorist organization in the world”? Have we forgotten those gallant young military officers that were killed at the war front whilst fighting this evil plague, all in their quest to keep us safe, to secure our borders and to protect our property and people? Does all that count for nothing? Is this the way to pay them back for their great sacrifice and their noble courage? Are we prepared to throw away all decency and morality just to seek favor with a handful of misguided mortals and in a futile attempt to win political power?

Simply put has the leadership of the PDP gone completely mad or are they working for elements outside the PDP? Are they suggesting that you need a godless Haramite to run the affairs of the party before we can ever win power at the center again? Where is the patience and fortitude that is required from true leaders? Where is their faith in God? Where is their sincerity of purpose? Does the leadership of the PDP really believe that it has kept faith with the founding fathers of the party, those that trusted them with power and those that bestowed them with leadership? There were so many other people that they could have chosen to lead our party from the north-east. There were people like Mohammed Wakil, Nuhu Ribadu, Bala Mohammed, Wilberforce Juta, Aliyu Modibbo, Ahmed Gulak and so many others that could have been appointed. These are all committed people with impeccable records of public service, high moral standing and good character. Instead of doing so the leadership of the party chose to impose the most controversial, intellectually-challenged, morally-depraved and despicable character that they possibly could to lead us and when asked why they did so we were told that it was because ”he has plenty of money to spend on the party” and no less than ”5 private jets” to lend out to those who needed a free plane ride. Evidently we have sold our birthright and heritage, not just for a mess of pottage like Esau, but rather for a free ride on a private jet. This is what a party that was once led by successive groups of seasoned and formidable intellectuals and great men of power, vision, courage and good character has been reduced to.

This is what the party that was founded and once led by giants like President Olusegun Obasanjo, Chief Tony Anenih, General Ibrahim Babangida, General Aliyu Gusau, Alhaji Adamu Ciroma, General T.Y. Danjuma, Vice President Abubakar Atiku, President Umaru Yar’adua, President Goodluck Jonathan, Chief Bode George, Col. Ahmadu Alli, Chief E.K. Clark, Professor Jerry Gana, Dr. Chuba Okadigbo, Chief Ken Nnamani and so many others has degenerated to? What a pity! What a monumental tragedy! This is a party that once boasted of having in its ranks many promising and dynamic bright young stars that were collectively capable of shaking the very foundation of the civilized world and creating new frontiers and greater hope for the future of our people and our beleaguered nation. How are the mighty fallen. What on earth has happened to us? As the Book of Galatians in the Holy Bible asks, ”who has bewitched us”?

Over the the course of the last 17 years, in terms of the quality of party leadership, the PDP has gradually descended into the unceremonious cesspit of mediocrity. Worst still, with the recent appointment of Ali Modu Sheriff as our National Chairman, we have chosen to spit in the wind, sleep with the dogs, dance on the graves of our fallen heroes, piss on the blood and bones of the slaughtered innocents and wallow in the filthy pool of compromise, deceit, doublespeak and shame. As a consequence of this calamitous decision we have, literally overnight, become a shell, nay a shadow, of what we used to be. Unfolding events will prove my assertion true. I have no doubt that time will eventually prove me right and vindicate me. The bitter truth is that this arrangement is an affront against the Living God and it cannot stand. Yet if it does stand the party will pay a heavy price for it because it will inevitably lead to the end of the PDP as we know it.

Imposing Ali Modu-Sheriff is an insult to all those that have fought for, led, served, defended, supported and risked everything for the party, at every level, over the last 17 years. Only the deeply malevolent can be comfortable with such an arrangement. It is evil. It is godless. It is indefensible. It is shameful and as long as it stands the PDP does not have the moral standing or authority to criticize or condemn others. Those that made this decision behind closed doors and without proper or wide consultations have murdered sleep. They have not only betrayed the confidence that the rest of us bestowed upon them but they have also prepared the coffin for our great party and dug its grave. It is a tragedy of monumental proportions and I have little doubt that God will judge them for what they have done. Ali Modu-Sheriffs long-term plan to hijack the leadership of the party for as long as possible, remain as National Chairman indefinitely and emerge as the Party’s presidential candidate in 2019 will fail because it does not have the blessing of God. Time will prove me right.

The Carnage, Tyranny Of Fulani Herdsmen May Not End Soon – Fani-Kayode

”I heard the voice of the fourth living creature say, “come!” I looked, and there before me was a pale horse! Its rider was named Death and Hades was following close behind him”- Revelations 6 v.8.
With recent events, it is clear that the biblical ”four horses of the Apocalypse” may well have been unleashed on Nigeria.
I support the call by Afenifere that all Fulani herdsmen should be banned from the south-west. Actually, I believe that they should be banned from the entire south and not just the south west.

I also stand by every word that I wrote in my widely published essay titled ”The Herdsmen From Hell.” This contribution serves as a follow up to that essay.
The bottom line is this: we do not want those that slaughter innocent people, including women and children, in our midst.
Those that say that we must remain silent when aliens and vandals invade our land, rape our women
and kill our people are, at best, misinformed and misuguided and, at worse, insensitive and wicked.
How can they expect us to remain silent when our elders and leaders are being terrorised and brutalised on a regular basis. Those that harbor such views and that have such misgivings are suffering from a callous and diseased state of mind and they shall be put to shame.
No matter what they say, we will continue to expose and resist this barbarity and we shall continue to call it precisely what it is: pure and unadulterated evil. We shall not be intimidated by those that seek to silence us and neither shall we cowered into silence.
I have no regrets for describing those murderous Fulani herdsmen as tsetse flies. Actually, they are worse than that because, like Satan, they only come to kill, steal and destroy.
It is obvious to any discerning mind that this categorization is limited to those Fulani herdsmen that indulge in barbaric and criminal activities and not the entire Fulani race.
Like any other ethnic group there are good Fulanis and there are bad ones. For someone to suggest that we ought to spare the bad ones simply because we are scared of offending the sensibilities of the good ones makes no sense to me.
I have many Fulani friends and the last thing on my mind would be to demonise an entire ethnic group. For anyone to suggest that a literary attack and a verbal assault on a bunch murderers and killers who happen to be of Fulani extraction is an attack on the entire Fulani race is absurd.
Worse still to describe such an attack as ”hate speech against the Fulani tribe” is simply asinine: it is nothing more than the gross manifestation of a subterranean slave mentality and an attempt at sucking up to those that believe that they own Nigeria.
Those that have voiced such puerile nonsense ought to provide an answer to the following question: should we remain silent when we see some wicked and uneducated cattle rearers committing atrocities which may, if not properly checked, result in a full scale ethnic war.
If the herdsmen had been Yoruba or Igbo I would have condemned them in similar terms and labelled them in precisely the same way. I may even have gone further because I would have expected far better from my own people.
I also happen to know that if Yoruba or Igbo traders or farmers went to the core north and singled-out the elders, leaders, traditional rulers and women and children of the Fulani tribe for murder, pillage, torture and rape all hell would have broken loose by now and their reaction would not have been limited to harsh words, strongly-worded essays and uncomplimentary categorizations.
The bottom line is this: the days of us keeping quiet and suffering in silence in the name of political correctness are long over. If we don’t want trouble and we don’t want matters to escalate we must speak out against evil very clearly and very quickly and we must condemn and correctly label those that like to shed human blood at the drop of a hat.
This is especially so when they prey on the weak, the elderly and the more vulnerable in our society. It is the gutless cowards that live amongst us that seek to play down the pillage, murder and rape of others that are guilty of hate crimes and collusion with genocidal maniacs and not those of us that have the courage to call a spade a spade.
Those that support the atrocities of the herdsmen are insensitive to the feelings and sufferings of others and that is the biggest crime of all. They hate the victims of these terrible atrocities and they love and make excuses for the perpetrators.
They are completely incapable of any form of empathy with those that have been violated and slaughtered and in their heart of hearts they relish the atrocities and they consider them fair game and fair sport.
A good example of such people is the individual who leads an organisation which is supposed to protect the rights of the less fortunate in our society.
This individual apparently does not deem it appropriate to stand up against the evil that the herdsmen have been indulging in for the last few years and he prefers to pamper them. Why am I not surprised?
Instead of speaking up for the human rights and civil liberties of those that have been maimed, killed and persecuted as he has been charged to do, the man is busy trying to say things that are politically correct.
Whilst he is attempting to please and impress his new paymasters people are being killed by his cattle-rearing friends on a daily basis.
I say shame on him and those that think like him and I honestly believe that the blood of those innocent people that have been maimed and slaughtered by the herdsman are partly on his hands because he has encouraged them with his complicit silence and his veiled support.
Given the attitude of men like that, coupled with the apparent indifference of the Federal Government to the whole issue, it is clear that the carnage and tyranny of the Fulani herdsmen may not end any time soon.
I say this because barely ten days after the abduction and matcheting (yes matcheting) of Chief Olu Falae and on October 1st 2015, which is Nigeria’s independence day, the Fulani herdsmen struck again.
On that day they abducted a traditional ruler from the Yoruba-speaking area of Kogi state. His name is Oba Adebisi Obademi and they abducted him from his palace in Apa-Bunu in the Kabba-Bunu area of his state. They have asked the family to pay a ransom for his release.
On the same day, they released a 70 year old Yoruba cleric by the name of Pastor Japhet Obafemi who is from Ilepa, Ikare Akoko in Ondo state. They had abducted him and kept him in tortuous captivity for 11 grueling days. Sadly a number of others whose homes were invaded by the herdsmen were not so lucky.
Mr. Agbaose Sowetan from Oja-Odan, Ogun state and Mrs. Ayeshi Balogun from Asa village, Ogun state, both of whom were farmers, were not allowed to go home to their families but instead they were murdered in cold blood.
According to press reports Mrs. Balogun, who was a mother of three, was gang-raped before being hacked to death.
Can there be any greater evil than this? Who will tame these wicked and hard-hearted herdsmen and who will clip the wings of these bloodthirsty cattle-rearers?
Who will deliver us from these sadists and terrorists that have no sense of restraint or remorse and that have no mercy or compassion? Who will stand up to them boldly and say “let my people go”?
Permit me to conclude this intervention by repeating an interesting and relevant contribution from the famous British historian, writer and educationalist Dr. T.R. Batten.
He wrote: “The Fulani were at their most influential in Gobir. Then a dispute broke out between their Imam, Usman Dan Fodiyo and Sarkin Gobir Yunfa. The Fulani rallied behind their leader who encouraged them to defy their Hausa Chief. He began a jihad and fighting broke out. Thus the Fulani seized the country by force against the will of those who lived there. The enmity had nothing to do with religion for among those who fought (against the Fulani) were many Muslims. It was about the Fulani’s wish to seize power from the Hausas.”
It follows that the herdsman and those that they represent conquer by infiltration, assimilation and guile. Those that doubt this should find out what became of the ancient Hausa kingdoms.
They should also find out about the terrible fate that befell the famous Yoruba general, the Aare Ona Kakanfo of the old Oyo empire, Afonja, at the hands of Abdulsalami, the son of his erstwhile “ally” and friend the Fulani Salih Janta (A.K.A Shehu Alimi).
After Afonja died, Abdulsalami killed his son and took over his throne in Ilorin.
Since that time a Fulani Emir, with a flag from the Sultan of Sokoto, has ruled Ilorin whilst the Yoruba descendants of Afonja have been denied the throne in a predominantly Yoruba town that was founded and established by Aare Afonja, their illustrious Yoruba forefather.
It is better to learn from the mistakes of history rather than to allow them to be repeated.

You’re A joker, M.I Abaga Tells Fani-Kayode Over His Chief Olu Falae’s Statement

Chocolate City rapper, Jude Abaga popularly called (M.I), yesterday, took a swipe at erstwhile Minister of Aviation, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, over his statement that should anything happen to the abducted former Secretary to Government of the Federation (SGF), and Afenifere chieftain, Chief Olu Falae, the Federal Government will be held responsible and there will be consequences.

MI Abaga2

The Nigerian hip hop recording artist, who took to his verified Twitter handle@MI_Abaga said: “Mr. Femi Fani-Kayode (FFK), you are a joker… Instead of being prayerful and hopeful for a statesman’s life, you are making threats against our government… Please!”

Recall that following Monday’s abduction of Chief Falae from his farm, in Ilado village, Akure North area of Ondo state, by suspected Fulani herdsmen numbering over 20, Fani-Kayode had condemned the abduction in a statement, calling on the Federal Government and security agencies to as a matter of urgency fish out perpetrators of the act.

The statement of Fani-Kayode read in part: “The abduction of Chief Olu Falae is not only unacceptable but it also an exceptionally dangerous development. I say this because he is not only an elder-statesman of our country but he is also one of the most revered leaders of Afenifere and the south-west.

*Fani-Kayode

“We cannot sit by idly and watch our leaders and elders being endangered, shamed and humiliated in this way. It is the governments job to keep us all safe and secure and they are failing in that duty. I call on the President and our security agencies to effect the expeditious and immediate release of Chief Olu Falae.

“They must rescue him from these vagabonds and vandals as soon as possible before things get out of hand. Let it be clearly understood that if anything happens to him and if he doesn’t come home hale and hearty we will hold the Federal Government responsible and there will be consequences. Those that are in power would do well to take what I have said very seriously.”

Nigeria Is Built On Satanic Foundation- Fani-Kayode

Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, says Nigeria has refused to develop because it was built on a ‘satanic’ foundation.

Fani-Kayode said, “It is generally agreed though not commonly admitted that both Lugard and Flora Shaw were Luciferians who practised the black arts and all manner of satanic rituals.

“He (Lugard) was a ‘High Priest of the Freemasons’ whilst they were both avid followers of Aleister Crowley, the leading satanist of his day and the self-styled ‘world’s most wicked man.’”

“This explains a lot. It also explains why Shaw gave us the name Nigeria – a name which has questionable roots. Anyone that doubts this should consider the literal translation of Nigeria into Latin: it means “the area of darkness” and there is a deep spiritual and mystical reason why she gave us that name.

“It comes with a lot of baggage because not much good can come out of an area of darkness.”

Fani-Kayode Bares His Mind On PMB’s New Appointments, Mocks Nigerians

Femi Fani-Kayode has reacted to the latest appointments made by President Muhammadu Buhari, which favoured only the North.

Reacting to the development, he posted this on his Facebook page:

“NIGERIANS WANTED ‘CHANGE’ AND NOW WE HAVE GOT IT. NO-ONE SHOULD COMPLAIN BECAUSE THIS IS WHAT OUR PEOPLE WANTED. THOSE OF US THAT WARNED THE COUNTRY THAT THIS WOULD HAPPEN WERE INSULTED AND LAMPOONED. NOW WE HAVE TO LIVE WITH THE CONSEQUENCES OF OUR CHOICE FOR THE NEXT FOUR YEARS. WELCOME TO THE NEW NIGERIA. WELCOME TO ‘CHANGE’

We Warned Tinubu That ‘Northern Allies’ Will Betray Him, Says Fani-Kayode

Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, has stated that former governor of Lagos state and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Ahmed Tinubu was warned that ‘northern allies in APC’ will betray him.

“Another is the destruction and demystification of Bola Tinubu and his Yoruba loyalists by his erstwhile northern allies in the APC. Only a fool did not see that one coming and I am rather surprised that Tinubu’s followers are now crying foul and alleging that there is a northern conspiracy. Didnt they know that before? Were they not warned over and over again?,” the spokesperson of the Peoples Democratic Party 2015 Presidential Campaign Organisation posted on his Facebook account.

Fani-Kayode also warned that “there are many other grave consequences which the Nigerian people will witness, in a most harrowing and frightful manner, in the next few months and years. May God deliver our people and our nation and may we learn to make the right choices”.

Fani-Kayode Denies Saying ‘For Rejecting Jonathan, Nigerians Deserve Boko Haram’

Press statement from Femi Fani-Kayode. Read below…

It has been brought to our attention that Premium Times, a popular Nigerian online magazine, has alleged that Chief Femi Fani-Kayode wrote the following words on his Facebook page- ”For rejecting Jonathan, Nigerians deserve Boko Haram”. This is false and, needless to say, Chief Fani-Kayode has never and would never say such a thing or harbor such a horrendous and heartless view.

For the last few years Chief Fani-Kayode has been one of the loudest and most strident voices against Boko Haram in Nigeria and he has continously and courageously condemned them. He has also continuously expressed his grave concerns about the barbarity and sheer evil that they have unleashed on the Nigerian people and he has constantly expressed his condolences to and support for the families whose loved ones have been murdered by them over the years.
For Premium Times or anyone else to allege that Chief Fani-Kayode wrote that the Nigerian people ”deserve Boko Haram” under any circumstances is not just mischievous but it is also irresponsible and malicious. It is a wicked lie which is designed to endanger the life and reputation of Chief Fani-Kayode and to subject him to public odium, ridicule, outrage and opprobium. We challenge anyone that doubts the veracity of our contention to go and read Chief Fani-Kayode’s write-up on his Facebook wall because it is still there.
They should point out where President Jonathan’s name was mentioned and they should also point out where he wrote that ”Nigerians deserve Boko Haram”. We urge our friends in the media to please check their sources properly before going to press and to quote people accurately.
They should also treat such matters in a thoroughly honest and professional manner and with the greatest sensitivity. Since yesterday night we have been inundated with calls from concerned Nigerians about this fake headline and we have had to go to great lengths to set the record straight. We appreciate the fact that the overwhelming majority of Nigerian media practitioners always adhere to the highest standards of ethics and practice but when things go wrong, for the sake of posterity, it is important to set the record straight.
Thank you”- Jude Ndukwe (Special Assistant to Chief Femi Fani-Kayode)
My original text on Boko Haram published on my facebook page
Anyone that honestly believed that a man who secretly shares the same vision and core principles of Boko Haram and who spent many years defending them can do anything but give them a free hand when he comes to power is living in cuckoo land.
I am not surprised by all the recent bombings and killings. I am not surprised by the resurgence of BH and their new found barbarity, courage and zeal. Military checkpoints have been removed from our roads so what do you expect?
Boko Haram suspects are now being kept in prisons in the eastern part of the country in order to ”spread the word” and no less than 182 Boko Haram suspects were released on the Presidents orders just a few days ago. Is all this just a coincidence or is something that is dark and sinister now afoot in our country?
Whatever each of us may or may not believe, one thing is clear- that Boko Haram now have powerful friends and secret allies right at the epicenter of power and those friends and allies are running the affairs of the country.
There is a much wider picture unfolding here which the Nigerian people have yet to see and which they find difficult to accept, understand or comprehend. There is a hideous and frightful hidden agenda which is slowly manifesting before our very eyes. Though we warned them, the Nigerian people wanted “change” so they must live with the consequences of their choice.
One of those consequences is the new-found audacity, courage, growing power and rising strength of Boko Haram. Another is the resurgence of a clearly ethnic agenda which is designed to leave no-one in doubt about who really owns Nigeria and who the slaves are.
Another is the destruction and demystification of Bola Tinubu and his yoruba loyalists by his erstwhile northern allies in the APC. Only a fool did not see that one coming and I am rather surprised that Tinubu’s followers are now crying foul and alleging that there is a northern conspiracy. Didnt they know that before? Were they not warned over and over again?
There are many other grave consequences which the Nigerian people will witness, in a most harrowing and frightful manner, in the next few months and years. May God deliver our people and our nation and may we learn to make the right choices.

EFCC To Challenge Fani-Kayode’s Acquittal

As Fani Kayode celebrates his court victory today, the EFCC has said it will challenge his acquittal  by a federal high court..The former aviation minister was discharged and acquitted of laundering  almost N100 million while he was the minister of aviation in 2006.The EFCC had filed the suit against him in 2013..Discharging Kayode,Justice Rita Ofili-Ajumogobia said

”It is apparent that the prosecution’s case is feeble and has failed to establish that the accused person paid or accepted cash deposits exceeding the authorised limit and did not do so through a financial institution,” the judge said.
“The prosecution has therefore failed to prove beyond reasonable doubt that an offence had been committed under Section 15(1) of the Money Laundering Prohibition Act (2004).

“I am of the considered view that the accused person, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, ?in the absence of copious evidence connecting him to the offence charged ought to be discharged and acquitted of the two surviving counts of the amended charge and I so hold.?”

Fani-Kayode’s Acquittal a Shock, Says EFCC

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has said it was shocked by Wednesday’s acquittal of former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode.

A Federal High Court in Lagos acquitted Mr. Fani-Kayode of corruption charges, saying the EFCC failed to prove its “feeble case” against Mr. Fani-Kayode beyond reasonable doubt.

The spokesperson for the commission, Wilson Uwujaren, in a statement, said the ruling by the judge, Rita Ofili- Ajumogobia, was shocking.

Mr. Uwujaren said, “The Commission is making effort to obtain a Certified True Copy of the ruling, to enable it respond appropriately after careful review of the judgment.”

A former Minister of Aviation in Nigeria, Mr Femi Fani-Kayode, says the dismissal of a case filed against him on money laundering charges was the “doing of the lord” and an end to a nightmare.

A Federal High Court in Lagos on Wednesday morning dismissed the case against Mr Fani-Kayode, saying the prosecution’s case was “feeble” and failed to provide “copious evidence” linking Mr Fani-Kayode to money laundering.

In a statement issued after the judgement was delivered, the former Aviation Minister said that he had, in the last seven years, been subjected to the “most malicious, vicious, sinister, well-orchestrated, insidious and devastating form of political persecution and wickedness”.

“The whole process almost destroyed my life, my family, my reputation, my health and my career.

“I thank God for His goodness, His mercy and for the fact that today, the whole nightmare has finally come to an end,” he said.

“Marvellous In Our Sight”

Recounting the entire processes, he said: “Initially, I was accused of stealing 19.5 billion Naira of the public funds when I was Minister of Aviation. It was thrown out by the courts. Then I was accused of stealing 6.5 billion Naira. It was thrown out by the courts. Then I was accused of laundering 200 million Naira, it was thrown out by the courts.

“Then I was accused of laundering 99 million Naira. It was thrown out by the courts. Finally, I was accused of laundering one million Naira and 1.1 million Naira respectively and today, both of these charges have also been thrown out by the courts”.

Mr Fani-Kayode further said that the verdict “is the doing of the lord and it is marvellous in our sight”, stressing that it was a prove of God’s faithfulness and honour for His word.

Jail Or Freedom? Fani-Kayode To Know Fate July 1

A Federal High Court in Lagos on Thursday fixed July 1 for judgment in the money laundering trial of a former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode.
Justice Rita Ofili-Ajumogobia adjourned the case to July 1 following the absence of the lead prosecuting counsel, Festus Keyamo.

When a lawyer announced appearance for Mr. Keyamo, the judge said she would prefer Mr. Keyamo, who had been prosecuting the case.

Ms. Ofili-Ajumogobia had on May 5 fixed June 18 for judgment following adoption of final written addresses and summary arguments by lawyers to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) as well as that of the accused.

Mr. Fani-Kayode, whose trial began in 2008 before Justice Ramat Mohammed, was arraigned by the EFCC for allegedly laundering about N100 million while he was minister of culture and tourism and subsequently, aviation minister.

The allegedly laundered sum was, however, reduced to N2.1million on Nov. 17, 2014 after Ms. Ofili-Ajumogobia dismissed 38 of the 40-count charge levelled against Mr. Fani-Kayode for want of proof.

The EFCC prosecutor, Mr. Keyamo, while urging the court to uphold the remaining two counts and to accordingly convict Mr. Fani-Kayode, said the former minister failed to exonerate himself of the allegations.

Stop Victimizing Fani-Kayode, Ile-Ife PDP Warns NWC

Read the press statement below…

The leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ile-Ife, home town of the Director of Media and Publicity of the party’s Presidential Campaign Committee, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode has risen in strong defence of Fani-Kayode declaring that he remains a loyal member of the party in the town.

The chairman of the party in ward 05, Iremo, Ile-Ife, Rasheed Ojikuti while addressing a press conference in Ile-Ife yesterday said the party at the ward level was in support of Fani-Kayode, who he described as a committed and financial member of the party.

Also, the PDP leader warned members of the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party to
stop victimizing the former Aviation Minister and allow him to remain in the party.

The PDP Leader noted that Fani-Kayode has contributed financially to the party at both the ward, local, state and national level, stressing that the commitment of the former Aviation Minister to the sustenance of the party in Ile-Ife and Osun state at large was unequivocal. It would be recalled that the National Working Committee of the PDP had through the National Secretary of the party, Professor Wale Oladipo directed the Osun state chairman of the party, Alhaji Ganiyu Olaoluwa to authenticate the membership status of Fani-Kayode.

However, Ojikutu recalled that Fani-Kayode was issued the party’s membership card in Iremo ward 05 ward, Ile-Ife when he defected from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the PDP, stressing that he has since been contributing well to the party at all levels. According to him “Chief Femi Fani-Kayode is a loyal and bona-fide member of the PDP.

He was issued a membership card of the party in our ward here in Ile-Ife, his home town when he returned to the party following relentless and intense pressure from us, and since then he has been contributing immensely and generously far above the statutory required levies, both in cash and in kind to the continued growth of our party at all levels.”

He described the former Minister as a great pillar of support and beacon of light to the party in Ile-Ife and Osun state at large, adding that the contributions of Fani-Kayode to the PDP at national levels can also not be under-estimated. He added that “it came to us as a surprise that despite the immense and contributions of Chief Fani-Kayode to the PDP at all levels, the National Working Committee of the party is seeking disciplinary action against him just because he joined other great party leaders like Governor Ayo Fayose of Ekiti state in calling for NWC members to go home after leading the party to its worst election in its 16 years of history.”

“We wonder why among all the people that raised similar issue, only Chief Fani-Kayode has been singled out for a planned sanction. Could this be a deliberate plan to victimize this great man and force him out of the party he labored so much for? If it is so, we assure Nigerians that we shall stand by Chief Femi Fani-Kayode and his likes to the end no matter the cost to our persons and offices. We abhor victimization, injustice and tyranny, and we shall prove this with all our strength and everything at our disposal in the coming days unless those concerned retrace their steps,” he added.

The PDP stalwart maintained that “anyone from Ile-Ife who tries to embarrass our leaders, be it Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, Chief Iyiola Omisore or any other leader is a traitor and shall be treated as such.” Meanwhile, a chieftain of the party in the South West, Mr Dare Adeleke has warned the NWC members of the party not to make Fani-Kayode a scape goat for challenging them, saying the statement made by the erstwhile Aviation Minister was in the interest of the party.

He noted that Fani-Kayode should be applauded for his courage rather than being victimized by the NWC. Adeleke who is a former Chairman, Caretaker Management committee of the party in Ondo state said “if Adamu Muazu could resign as the National Chairman of the party, and Chief Tony Anenihe could also resign as the Chairman, Board of Trustees of the party, there is nothing that stops other NWC members from resigning.” He cautioned the leadership of the party against victimization of members, stressing that “this is not the best time for the PDP to victimize any of its members or witch hunt them.”

PDP At Ward Level Confirms Fani-Kayode’s Membership

Leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at the ward level in Ife Central Senatorial District in Osun State have finally spoken, authenticating the membership of ?the Director, Media ?and Publicity, Goodluck Jonathan Campaign organisation during the 2015 general elections, Femi Fani-Kayode in the party.

Addressing newsmen in Ile-Ife town in Osun State, Chairman of the Party in Iremo Ward 5 Ile-ife, Rasheed Ojikutu said that Fani-Kayode is not only a bonafide member of PDP but also a forthright leader of the party.

The Ward Chairman confirmed that Femi Fani Kayode was issued a PDP membership card from Ward 5 Iremo, ?Ife Central Local Government Area of Osun State in April 2014, following his defection from the APC.

Ojikutu and other party leaders expressed dismay that despite the contributions of Fani-Kayode during the presidential race, the National Working Committee of the party is seeking disciplinary action against him, for joining others in calling for the resignation of the NWC.

Mr Ojikutu assured other party members at the ward and national level of their readiness to stand by Mr Fani-Kayode in proving the authenticity of his membership.

The National Secretary of PDP, Prof. Wale Oladipupo, had earlier in the week sent a letter to the Osun State chapter of the party, requesting that the authenticity of the membership and the financial status of Mr Fani-Kayode be confirmed.

I Cannot Be Intimidated, Fani- Kayode Tells NWC Of PDP

Mr Femi Fani-Kayode says he cannot be intimidated by threat of the National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)? to discipline him for calling for their sack.

Fani-Kayode, the Director of Media and Publicity of the PDP Presidential Campaign Organisation, stated this while speaking to newsmen in Abuja on Wednesday.

He spoke shortly after the resignation of the National Chairman of PDP, Alhaji Adamu Mu’azu.
According to him, I am vindicated by Mu`azu`s resignation.
He, however, insisted on total overhauling of the party with the resignation of other members of the NWC for the party to return to its former glory.
“I am glad that about seven hours after I said somebody should resign, somebody listened and stepped down. Every single one of them should go’’, Fani-Kayode said.

“I was a special adviser to ?President Olusegun Obasanjo for three years under PDP and I served as a Minister too.

“I served as Director, Media and Publicity of PDP Presidential Campaign Organisation. In a sane clime, party members should be able to criticise their colleagues when they go wrong.

“Did they ask for Gov. Ayo Fayose to be disciplined, ?did they query Gov. Babangida Aliyu and Gov. Sule Lamido?”

According to him, these persons have at different occasions asked for the resignation of the PDP NWC members but they are not reprimanded. He wondered why they want him reprimanded.

He said as a citizen, he had the right to freely express himself, adding that he would never be cowed or intimidated by the threats from the NWC.

Prof. Wale Oladipo, National Secretary of PDP, announced Mu`azu`s resignation to newsmen the end of the 399th NWC meeting.

Mr Olisa Metuh, National Publicity of the PDP, also confirmed Mu`azu`s resignation at a separate briefing.

“I can confirm that we have received the resignation of the party’s national chairman.

“The national chairman, who had health challenge, stayed on for the party’s primaries, the campaigns and the elections after which he travelled abroad for medical treatment.

“Mu`azu, after consultations with his family members and on personal interest, has decided to resign as national chairman of PDP.

“This party commends him for the sacrifice he made during the campaigns in spite of his health. We commend him for the love, dedication and commitment he has for PDP”, Metuh said.

He said that the party wished Mu’azu well and would not forget his services, stressing that he would be celebrated accordingly.

He, however, added that Uche Secondus, the Deputy National Chairman of PDP, would immediately step in as its Acting National Chairman in accordance with its Constitution.

He said the acting chairman would be in the position pending when another chairman would be elected from the South-East.

PDP Orders Probe Of Fani- Kayode

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has ordered the immediate probe of one of its members, and former minister, Femi Fani-Kayode, for criticising the party’s leadership and calling for its resignation.

The party said Mr. Fani-Kayode should be sanctioned for launching a media war against its leadership.

Mr. Fani-Kayode, alongside the Ekiti State governor, Ayo Fayose, and some other PDP members, have blamed the leadership of the party for PDP’s defeat in the recent national elections.

Mr. Fani-Kayode, who was the spokesperson for President Goodluck Jonathan’s presidential campaign team, on Tuesday accused two unnamed members of the party’s National Working Committee of working for the opposition All Progressives Congress.

In a dramatic response Wednesday, the party ordered the PDP in Osun State, Mr. Fani-Kayode’s home state, to immediately investigate and punish the former minister.

In a letter signed by its National Secretary, Wale Oladipo, the party mandated the PDP in Osun to first establish whether Mr. Fani-Kayode has been a “registered and financial member”.

If Mr. Fani-Kayode is a member, the party said, he should be punished severely, otherwise, he should be treated as a usurper.

The party also summoned its deputy national organizing secretary, Okey Nnadozie, to explain the whereabouts of the party’s money which was supposed to be paid to state chairmen of the party at the last national convention.

The party said Mr. Nnadozie should appear at the party’s office in Abuja on Thursday. The NWC also said it has set up a seven-man disciplinary committee headed by Micheal Abdul. Tony Okeke, former acting National Publicity Secretary of the party is to serve as Secretary of the committee.

Jonathan Would Have Suffered Worse Defeat If We Didn’t Help- Fani-Kayode

Former minister and spokesperson for President Goodluck Jonathan’s campaign, Femi Fani-Kayode, has debunked claims that hate campaign by some members of PDP Presidential Campaign Organisation caused the party’s defeat at the March 28 presidential election.

Mr. Fani-kayode, who served as Director of Media and Publicity of the organisation, spoke with newsmen in Abuja on Tuesday.

He said President Goodluck Jonathan would have lost the presidential election by at least 10 million votes but for the intervention of his campaign team.

Mr. Jonathan lost the election by less than 3 million votes.

He was reacting to recent accusation by the PDP National Working Committee (NWC) that the electoral misfortune that hit the party after the 2015 elections was due to hate campaigns by the party’s campaign organisation.

Mr. Fani-kayode, who described some members of the party’s NWC as “enemy within us”, alleged that two members of the committee were working for the opposition in the course of the election.

He described most members of the NWC as ignorant of party campaigns, adding that the campaign organisation “stood up for the party, fought for the President and did not betray the cause”.

While calling for the resignation of the NWC, Mr. Fani-Kayode defended the media strategy used by the PDP Presidential Campaign Organisation.

He also exonerated the First Lady, Patience Jonathan, Gov. Ayo Fayose of Ekiti State of blame in the loss of the party.

Mr. Fani-kayode said while President Jonathan was constantly under serious hostile pressure during the campaigns, the First Lady encouraged the organisation and inspired its members more than anyone else.

“I do not want to rock the boat out of respect for our President and our party elders; otherwise I would say a lot more that will shock the nation and the party faithful.

“I have a whole file on it which we compiled during the campaign. Two members of the NWC specifically were actually working for the APC and were on their payroll,” he said.

Their job, he added, was to destroy the PDP fortunes, expose its secrets, create discord in its ranks and undermine the efforts of the campaign organisation in the media campaign.

“That is just one shocker and there are plenty more. The time to talk is not now. That time will come.
“You will be shocked by what we know about these people and their sordid efforts to stop Jonathan and betray their own party.

“The truth is that the NWC has to go and I add my voice to that of Govs. Aliyu Babaginda, Sule Lamido, Ayodele Fayose and that of so many other people,” he said.

He added that there was need for a change at the top if the PDP was serious about forging party unity.
“This is critical to restoring its fortunes, redeeming it and winning the election in 2019.’’

Mr. Fani-Kayode, who described the APC media machine as awesome, maintained that for the first time since the establishment of APC, they were put on the defensive by the PDP presidential campaign organisation.

He, however, added that the PDP “must remain free of acrimony, united and focused”, saying the party must “throw out the bad eggs in the NWC”.

“In order to survive over the next four years as a party, we must make the necessary changes at the top; otherwise we will be utterly decimated.

“The present leadership of the party, particularly its information organ, has no chance of standing against an APC Federal Government because they are weak and lack understanding and courage.

“They will be savaged beyond belief and torn apart if they try it because they do not have the stomach, the grit, the appetite or the wherewithal for a long drawn fight”, he said.

He held that instead of preparing to defend the party faithful and fortunes of its members over the next four years, they were making allegations and alienating many party leaders.

PDP Dominated By Patience, Fani-Kayode, Fayose, Says Tsav As Jonathan Calls For Party Crisis Ceasefire

President Goodluck Jonathan has intervened in the open war between his aides and the National Working Committee, NWC, of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

The President’s intervention during a closed-door meeting with the NWC members followed strident calls for the resignation of the national chairman of the party, Alhaji Adamu Mu‘azu and other NWC members for purportedly leading the party to its first defeat in a presidential election.

The president’s intervention was, yesterday, matched by calls from senior party members who also called on the warring members to pull away from the acrimony that has seen NWC members openly blame the President’s handpicked campaign managers for causing the defeat of the President in the election.

The call for ceasefire nonetheless, the crisis continued to smoulder with Chief Bode George, a former deputy national chairman of the party calling for the resignation of Mu‘azu from office.

Besides, Governor Ayo Fayose of Ekiti State stuck to his guns on the demand for the resignation of the NWC members, an assertion that drew the sharp response of a senior official of the NWC who reproached Fayose for biting the very fingers that fed him in his time of need.

Money Laundering: Fani-Kayode Knows Fate On June 18

A Federal High Court in Lagos on Monday fixed June 18 for judgment in the trial of a former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, charged with money laundering.

Justice Rita Ofili-Ajumogobia fixed the judgment following the adoption of final written addresses and arguments by the counsel to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the accused.

Fani-Kayode, whose trial began in 2008 before Justice Ramat Mohammed, was accused by the EFCC of laundering about N100 million while he was the Minister of Culture and Tourism and later, the Minister of Aviation.

The laundered sum was, however, reduced to N2.1 million on Nov. 17, 2014 after Ofili-Ajumogobia had dismissed 38 of the 40 counts leveled against Fani-Kayode by the EFCC for want of proof.

At the resumed trial of the case on Monday, the EFCC prosecutor, Mr Festus Keyamo, urged the court to uphold the remaining two counts and to, accordingly, convict Fani-Kayode. He said the former minister had failed to exonerate himself of the allegations.

Keyamo pointed out that the object of the charge was that Fani-Kayode transacted in cash sums above N500,000 which was the threshold stipulated by the Money Laundering Act.

He said that Fani-Kayode had personally admitted making such transactions in his confessional statement of Dec. 22, 2008 to the EFCC.

Keyamo said:”In this statement, he admitted that he transacted in cash above N500,000. My Lord, this statement went in without objection by the accused and the statement was voluntary.

“With the combination of this confessional statement and the statement of the nvestigating police officer that investigated the allegations, we rely on all of these to submit that we have discharged our burden that monies were received by the accused in cash and were not done through any financial institution.”

Keyamo argued that the prosecution had discharged its duty once it established that Fani-Kayode transacted large sums above the Money Laundering threshold, adding that it was left for Fani-Kayode to explain the source of the money.

“Once you cannot explain the source of the large sums of money found on you, you are guilty of money laundering.

“If the prosecution must show where the money is coming from, then the whole essence of the money laundering law is defeated.

“It is not in all cases that the burden of proof lies on the prosecution; the burden at this point shifts to the accused,” Keyamo added.

He further argued that the court could not simply believe that the large sums that Fani-Kayode allegedly transacted were proceeds from his father’s estate.

According to him, the accused should have called the tenant who paid in the money to testify in court and also back it up with his bank’s statement.

But Fani-Kayode’s counsel, Mr Adedayo Adedipe (SAN), in his summary argument, maintained that Fani-Kayode made no confession to the EFCC, adding that the anti-graft agency had failed to show that Fani-Kayode actually accepted cash amounting to N1million as alleged in one of the counts.

Adedipe said the EFCC also failed to show to the court the person who handed over the money to the accused persons.

He said for the case of the prosecution to succeed it must be proved beyond reasonable doubts.

“My Lord, it is our submission that the accused does not have to prove his innocence; it is the prosecution that must prove its case beyond all reasonable doubts.

“In this particular case, the prosecution has failed to give the evidence of acceptance of N1 million in the entire trial, and none of the witnesses brought by the prosecution gave evidence of giving the accused cash,” Adedipe said.

The lawyer said the defence had raised doubts in the mind of the court regarding the veracity of the testimony of the EFCC’s witness, Supo Agbaje.

He said that Agbaje had earlier been declared wanted by the EFCC and subsequently listed as a prosecution witness.

Adedipe added:”My Lord, reasonable doubt exists as to what happened and that doubt should be resolved in favour of the accused.

“Do we believe Agbaje, a man fighting for his liberty, for his life, who was remanded? Reasonable doubt exists in the testimony given by Supo Agbaje, who was declared wanted by the EFCC and later used as a witness.”

Adedipe, while urging the court to discharge and acquit Fani-Kayode, said the EFCC had no case against him, but it was only striving to “show to the world that we have caught a big fish; but My Lord, there is no big fish here.”

Ofili-Ajumogobia, while fixing judgment for June 18, also granted an application to substitute Wale Ajisebutu with Ogbor Elliota as surety for Fani-Kayode.

‘Thank Your Lucky Stars Jonathan Conceded Victory’ – Fani Kayode Tells APC

PDP has also slammed the allegation by APC that president Jonathan came to Lagos to ensure saturday’s governorship/national assembly elections were rigged ..
In a statement, Friday,  by the  Director of  Media and Publicy, PDPPCO,  Chief Femi Fani-Kayode   said,

“They should thank their lucky stars that we have a President who saw fit to concede victory and behave like a gentleman rather than cause a stir by rejecting the results and going to court.”“Once again the APC has degenerated into a party of liars who have little or no shame. It is not true that the President has any rigging plan for Lagos and neither do we need any such plan because our party is very strong there.
“The problem that the APC has and the reason that they make such asinine and stupid allegations is because they actually believe that they own Lagos state and all those that live there.
“They are now in a state of panic because for the first time in 16 years they are facing a formidable challenge and they know that Jimi Agbaje of the PDP is likely to win. The truth is that there was no secret meeting in which rigging was planned by the President and neither is it true that materials were smuggled in to rig Lagos state.
“The only people that are interested in rigging and in milking any cash cows are the APC themselves and they can rest assured that we will resist them at all levels. We will not only keep them on their toes at the Federal level by being eternally vigilant but we will also provide them with the most aggressive, relentless, focused and assertive opposition that Nigeria has ever known.

“President Jonathan simply conceded defeat in the Presidential election but this does not in any way mean that we have lost our nerve and neither does it represent a capitulation of our convictions or a collapse of our firm resolve.

Our Biggest Mistake Was To Appoint Fani-Kayode As Jonathan’s Campaign Manager – PDP Member

PDP Regret appointing Fani-Kayode as Jonathan campaign manager

Ben Onyechere spoke unwell of Mr Femi Fani-Kayode During a live program on Channels TV, after the presenter put Mr Ben Onyechere, a member of PDP on phone in discussing what is next for PDP.

During the interview, the presenter asked Mr Onyechere if PDP would be able to be a strong opposition party against APC government after May 29 as President Jonathan has accepted defeat.

In response to the question, he said it was the party’s mistakes that caused them the loss. He went on to say that someone like Fani-Kayode shouldn’t have been appointed as Chairman of President Jonathan’s Media and Publicity campaign team.

Mr Onyechere condemned Fani-Kayode’s approaches before the election, stressing that he went too far in attacking and abusing General Muhammadu Buhari, and this cost them a lot. Fani-kayode was using the bad experience he had while in APC to campaign and it damaged a lot and you don’t expect to win such election.

The angry Mr. Onyechere further said that even the chairman of the party Adamu Mu’azu should be discharge of his position for losing presidential election in his state.

In all, there are many politicians who failed Jonathan, some by mistake but a lot of them intentionally.

Fani-Kayode in a swift reaction to Mohammed on the issue said, “Lai Mohammed has told yet another dirty lie. What on earth is our business with Buhari’s court case?”

He said: “We know that he does not have a certificate and that he was not eligible to contest but we have moved on from there and we are ready to meet him in the field. The truth is that the APC are suffering from all manner of paranoia and they have lost touch with reality.

APC Not Happy With Jonathan’s Victory Over Terrorism- Fani-Kayode

Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, said yesterday that the All Progressives Congress (APC) is apparently unhappy with the victory of the nation’s military and the Federal Government over Boko Haram insurgents.

Fani-Kayode, in a statement he issued in Abuja, said “what is really giving the APC a headache is their failed expectation that President Jonathan’s government would be unable to subdue the deadly activities of the Boko Haram insurgents in the north-eastern part of the federation.

“The APC had field days attacking the government on the issue of insurgency, hardly aware of the determination by our Presidential candidate, President Jonathan to end the problem once and for all…”

Follow Due Process In Suit Over My Certificate – Buhari

Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the March 28 election, Gen Muhammadu Buhari has told Justice Adeniyi Ademola to follow due process in the determination of a suit challenging the propriety of his academic qualification.

Buhari had through his lawyer, Chief Wole Olanipekun (SAN), informed the court on the need to follow due process.

Buhari was dragged before the court by a lawyer, Chinwuike Okafor, challenging the legality of the general’s academic qualification for the presidential election.

At the resumed hearing of the case yesterday, lawyer to the plaintiff, Chief Mike Ozekhome (SAN) told the court of the need for expeditious hearing of the matter.

He added that time was of the essence since the crux of the suit deals with disqualification of Buhari, whom the plaintiff alleged, is not qualified to contest the presidential election slated for March 28.

Ozekhome had invited the court to consolidate the originating summons and all pending applications over the jurisdiction of the court on the grounds that, “the presidential election wherein we demand Buhari’s disqualification will hold on March 28”.

Lawyer to the APC, (the 2nd defendant in the matter), Chief Lateef Fagbemi (SAN), while objecting to the application of the plaintiff, said, “I have never seen where the issue of challenge to service by substituted means is lumped up with the originating summons.

“The Issue of service is factual and legal. We have to thrash it out first before talking about the originating summons.”

But Ozekhome took exception to the arguement of the defendants, saying he has always advocated that the general elections should hold on March 28 as scheduled.

He said,“I am for election holding on March 28. I never said the court should decide the suit before election nor have intention to scuttle the democratic process.

“Our application has to do with disqualification of Buhari; deciding the case on time and having one candidate disqualified out of 16 flag bearers cannot scuttle the presidential election of March 28 as scheduled.

APC’s Allegations Against PDP, FG Baseless Over Card Readers – Fani-Kayode

Director of media and publicity of the Peoples Democratic Party Presidential Campaign Organisation (PDPPCO), Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, has described the allegation by All Progressives Congress (APC) that the PDP-led federal government is planning to render the card readers ineffective on election days as wild and baseless.

Fani-Kayode, who said this in a statement while reacting to the APC’s allegation, said the federal government and the PDP did not have any plans to sabotage the card readers and did not need to indulge in such shady, sinister and tardy practices.

He said, “We view this wild and baseless allegation with amusement. Frankly, the APC deserves to be pitied. So desperate are they for power that their latest strategy is to come up with a different lie for every day of the week.

“They have lost control of their senses; their imagination has gone wild and they see things that are simply not there.

“This latest allegation is absurd; it is not rooted in truth; it is irrational and illogical. It is clear that the opposition are already preparing the grounds and making excuses for their own defeat.

“Instead of saying something tangible and attempting to ginger up and encourage their supporters, all they indulge in is giving them a daily dose of sub-standard fairy tales and dirty lies. They should stop all these nonsense and desist from making these wild and baseless allegations.

“President Goodluck Jonathan and the PDP do not have any plans to sabotage the card readers, neither do we need to indulge in such shady, sinister and tardy practices.

“We look forward to the elections which will commence in two weeks time and we have no doubt that the overwhelming number of the Nigerian people will vote for our candidates and support our party.”

Corruption: ‘Jonathan Has Plugged All Loopholes’

The Peoples Democratic Party Presidential Campaign Organisation (PDPPCO) yesterday declared that President Goodluck Jonathan is better ranked than his predecessors in office in the fight against corruption.

The PDP campaign team added that Jonathan has successfully plugged all loopholes which corrupt persons take advantage of to operate freely in the country.

Director of media and publicity of the PDPPCO, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, who made those declarations in a statement issued yesterday in Abuja, said the APC presidential candidate, General Muhammadu Buhari, cannot fight corruption because he is not only surrounded by corrupt men but also unable to give what he does not have.

Fani-Kayode said, “More than any other president in the history of Nigeria, President Goodluck Jonathan has fought corruption and has successfully plugged all the loopholes that allow corrupt persons to operate freely and with impunity in our country.

“His reforms in the agricultural sector with special reference to the new system for the procurement of fertiliser, his reforms in NNPC and the whole area of oil subsidies prove this. Millions of dollars have been saved in these areas alone as a consequence of Mr President’s innovative initiatives.”

PDP Campaign Dismisses APC’s Claims on Sponsorship of Ethnic Militias To Disrupt Polls

The Peoples Democratic Party Presidential Campaign Organisation has dismissed as false, the claims by the All Progressives Congress that the Goodluck Jonathan administration is sponsoring ethnic militias to disrupt the scheduled March 28 and April 11 general elections.

The Director of Media and Publicity of the President’s campaign office, Femi Fani-Kayode, who reacted in Abuja on Sunday, also justified the employment and compensation given to families of the victims of the Nigerian Immigration Service employment tragedy, saying that the APC’s criticism of the gesture was unfortunate.

“Once again, Lai Mohammed has indulged in lies on behalf of his lying party, the APC. It is not true that the PDP or the Federal Government is sponsoring ethnic militias. It is also not true that N9 billion has been allocated for that purpose”, he said.

Speaking further, Mr. Fani-Kayode said “It is rather the APC that has consistently supported and sponsored the Boko Haram both in substance and in their utterances over the last few years. This recourse to telling a lie every day by the opposition party will not in any way assist them in achieving their objectives.

“We will remain focused on the issues. We will talk about their weaknesses and we will also talk about the achievements of President Goodluck Jonathan on why it is that it is important that he is re-elected back into power on March 28. That is our focus.

“We have said it before and we will say it again: these people have become prisoners of their own delusions; they have become victims of their own hallucinations and fantasies. They have become paranoid such that they are sleeping and hiding under their beds. They are running from their own shadows and what we are witnessing is simply the judgment of God on them. They have lost their peace. They are running when nobody is chasing them and that is why they are saying these things.

“It is really is a pity that it has degenerated to this point. But the fact of the matter is that no serious-minded persons will take them seriously when they talk like this”.

On the APC claim that the PDP and the Federal Government were trying to garner cheap political profit from the calamity that befell some young Nigerians with the employment and compensations to the families of the affected victims of the NIS employment tragedy, Mr. Fani-Kayode said “It is not the PDP that feeds off the blood of other individuals; it is not the PDP that is a party of ritualists and cultists; it is not the PDP that encourages and supports terrorist organisations that have slaughtered about 35,000 people over the last three years.

“It was the APC that did that when Lai Mohammed said that it was unconstitutional and unjust for the Federal Government to proscribe Boko Haram. We do not feed off calamity; they are the ones that do that and they consistently do that and they will continue to do that and that is why we are saying they are not fit to take power in this country.

“Mr. President’s gesture concerning the victims of the calamity that took place last year when all those young people were killed was a noble gesture and was simply an acknowledgment of the fact that these people died under very, very sad circumstances.

“It was simply an attempt to alleviate the suffering and pain of the families of those that were killed and no right-thinking person will read any other meaning to that.

“It was a reflection of the compassion and the inherent goodness that reside in Mr. President’s heart and I think every patriotic and right-thinking Nigerian should commend him for that and not talk about feeding off people’s calamity. We are not cultists in the PDP. It is the APC that is filled with cultists and ritualists”, he said.

Questions Buhari Must Answer- Fani-Kayode

The People’s Democratic Party Presidential Campaign Organisation, PDPPCO, yesterday, alleged that leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) are planning to attack President Goodluck Jonathan’s private life through a video documentary.

He also enumerated a litany of questions the APC Presidential Candidate, Major-General Muhammadu Buhari (retd) has to answer, which said were enough to disqualify him from the presidential race.

Addressing Journalists in Abuja, Director, Media and Publicity of PDP Presidential Campaign Organisation, Chief Femi Fani- Kayode said the APC leaders with the financial support of two serving governors and a former state governor are planning to put in place a documentary about the private lives of President Goodluck Jonathan, First Lady, Dame Patience Jonathan and Minister of Petroleum Resources, Mrs. Diezani Alison- Madueke.

Fani- Kayode described the move to air the documentary as despicable, wicked, with the sole aim of scandalising, undermining and bringing into disrepute, President Jonathan, his wife and Diezani- Madueke, adding, “The documentary is riddled with falsehood and it is vulgar, smutty, cheap, shameful and salacious.’’

Court Orders AIT,NTA From Airing Damaging Documentary On Osibanjo

The Federal High Court in Lagos has restrained Daar Communications Plc (AIT) from broadcasting any video documentaries against All Progressives Congress (APC) Vice-Presidential candidate Prof Yemi Osinbajo (SAN).

According to Thisday, the order by Justice James Tsoho was made on Wednesday has been extended to all other broadcast stations under the control of the Broadcasting Organisation of Nigeria including NTA

The application was brought before the court by Osinbajo through his lawyer, Mr. Femi Falana (SAN)..

The Senior Advocate of Nigeria had complained to the court that the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, having adjudged him a threat, sponsored the documentaries to cause him disaffection in the eye of the public.

AIT and NTA had, for weeks running, aired a documentary detailing the “atrocious” past of the All Progressives Congress presidential candidate, Maj. Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd.). AIT also had a similar documentary on a national leader of the APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, chronicling his series of alleged financial misconduct.

Osinbajo maintained that the said documentaries, which allegedly contained untrue information and injurious falsehoods, constitute a personal attack on his person.

He argued that the videos were being aired in violation of his fundamental human right to dignity of human person, right to privacy and family virtue and right to life and/or livelihood, as protected by sections 33, 34 and 37 of the 1999 Constitution.

Gov. Shettima Is Culpable For Chibok Girls’ Abduction, Says Fani-Kayode

PDP Presidential Campaign Organisation on Tuesday insisted that Governor Kashim Shettima of Borno State is culpable in the April 2014 abduction of over 200 girls from Government Secondary School, Chibok, by Boko Haram insurgents.

The Director of Media and Publicity of the campaign organisation, Femi Fani-Kayode, alleged that the governor, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Muhammadu Buhari and the party’s spokesperson, Lai Mohammed knew the whereabouts of the missing girls.

Mr. Shettima, however, denied the allegation, saying no one should take Mr. Fani-Kayode serious as he “is one Nigerian that is physically an adult but mentally an infant. We all know that going into exchange with an infant is like having a dialogue with the blind, deaf and dumb.”

Account For Your Role In Killing Of 300 Igbo People In 1969, Fani-Kayode Tells Buhari

Director of Media of the Peoples Democratic Party Presidential Campaign Organisation (PDPPCO), Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, has asked the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Major-General Muhammadu Buhari (retd) to account for his role in January 29, 1969 coup d ‘etat, during which about 300 Igbo people were slaughtered.

Fani-Kayode made the demand during a press conference he addressed in Umuahia, the Abia State capital, where he called on the South-East voters to shun the APC presidential candidate at the polls.

According to him, the role played in the massacre of defenceless Igbos by the army division in which Buhari served, was part of the questions that was to have been put to Buhari during the sitting of the Justice Chukwudufu Oputa-led panel which he shunned. However, he said it was important that Buhari addressed the issues now that he is seeking to become the president of the country.

“We attended caucus meetings with them and the questions that kept coming up on the issue of the presidential election centred on the role Buhari played in the very sad events of the night of January 29, 1966, when a coup d’état took place in our country, during which no fewer than 300 Igbo army officers, a sitting head of state, General Aguiyi-Ironsi and a serving governor of the old Western Region, Colonel Fajuyi, were killed in the most brutal fashion in less than 24 hours.

“It is important for us to look into this today, considering the fact that Buhari is aspiring to be the next president of Nigeria.

“The Nigerian people have a right to know the truth about Buhari’s role in the tragic events of that night, as they do not deserve to be kept in the dark. We deserve to know who did what, who to and how many times. That is the message I got from most of the Igbo leaders I met on this tour and that is certainly the feeling of most Nigerians. The days of feeding our people with half-truth and telling them not to discuss the ugly events of the past which were long over. It does not stop there.

“The other issues that were raised centred on the role Buhari allegedly played during the very tragic events in the core north in the mid 60s just before the Civil War, when no fewer than 100,000 innocent and defenceless Igbo civilians, mainly women and children, were killed within a period of three months by irate and armed local mobs.

“Many have asked and wondered whether it was true that Buhari was amongst those that covertly orchestrated and encouraged those killings, as well as supported the slaughter of those innocent and helpless citizens. We consider this issue most relevant today, because this same man, who some people have alleged was involved in this carnage and genocide, is desperate to become the next president of Nigeria.

“We give thanks to God that Igboland is now a vital and integral part of a united and indivisible Nigeria and that the pains of the Civil War are many years behind us, yet the wounds inflicted on our minds must be healed and completely too.

“This can only be done by the exposition and enunciation of truth and when those who committed the most heinous atrocities against innocent civilians, women and children, even many years ago, are brought to justice. This can only be done after the souls of the innocents that were slaughtered are appeased by ensuring that anyone, no matter how highly placed, who committed or encouraged any crime against humanity at any point in time in our history against fellow Nigerians is brought to book.

“The best way to do this is not to dismiss these grave and serious questions, because this man was accused of participating in the terrible atrocities against the Igbo, both on January 29, 1966 and during the course of the massacre of innocent civilians in the North in September, October and November 1966.

“At this juncture, we must ask this painful, yet pertinent question: Is it true that the blood of the Igbo people ran up to the knees of Buhari on the night of July 29, 1966? This question, among others were put to Buhari during the sitting of the late Oputa-led panel in 2001 and instead of him answering them accordingly, for attendant matters to be settled once and for all and, if these allegations were indeed true, for him to ask for forgiveness, Buhari refused to turn up. Instead of coming clean and making use of this historic opportunity to settle the matter once and for all and make peace, Buhari went to court to ask for an injunction to restrain the panel from compelling him to come and give answers.

“This is very unfortunate and it is nothing but a sad and graphic reflection of his unrepentant and vicious mindset. The truth is that it is because he failed to face the Oputa-led panel and answer those questions 14 years ago, that we are still asking those questions today,” he said.

Fani-Kayode Backs First Lady Over Comment On Buhari

The Peoples Democratic Party Presidential Campaign Organisation has commended the First Lady, Patience Jonathan, for describing the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Muhammadu Buhari as “brain-dead.”

Mrs. Jonathan had on Wednesday at the PDP Women Presidential Campaign Rally in Lokoja, the Kogi state capital, stated that Buhari’s brain was dead.

“Wetin him (Buhari) dey find again? Him dey drag with him pickin mate. Old man wey no get brain, him brain don die pata pata,” she said in pidgin English.

The Director of Media and Publicity of the PDPPCO, Femi Fani-Kayode, in a response to the APC Presidential Campaign Organisation on Thursday in Abuja, said, “The First Lady, Dame Patience Jonathan, was absolutely right.”

“To say that General Buhari is ”brain dead” is an understatement and to suggest that he is suffering from dementia is nothing new.

“The First Lady has spoken in a courageous and forthright manner and, most important of all, she has spoken the bitter truth. Instead of crying like little brats and complaining, the APC and the Buhari Campaign Organisation should live with that bitter truth and leave her alone.

“She has every right to express herself in any way that she deems fit and she is entitled to her opinion. This is especially so given the fact that her husband, President Goodluck Jonathan, is in the presidential race”.

Lamenting Buhari’s alleged disdain for women, Fani-Kayode noted that “This is a man that said that he would scrap the office of the First Lady if he is elected President.

“If he is not ready to face public scrutiny and criticism for his often times irresponsible, retrogressive, nonsensical and asinine views, he should quit the presidential race and consider retiring from politics.

Osinbajo Demands N2bn Damages from Fani-Kayode

The vice presidential candidate of APC, Professor Yemi Osinbajo has demanded N2 billion as damages from the presidential spokesman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Femi Fani-Kayode for alleged publication and dissemination of defamatory statements against him.

Professor Osinbajo is also asking for immediate retraction within seven days of the offensive and derogatory publication as well as apology on four TV channels and four national newspapers circulating in all parts of Nigeria.

In a letter addressed to Fani-Kayode by Lagos lawyer, Femi Falana, SAN, on behalf of Osinbajo, he is complaining of a statement made by the PDP presidential spokesman which was broadcast on Channels TV and published in several newspapers alleging that “Osinbajo made a secret oath with Senator Bola Tinubu to be his surrogate as Vice President for a period of six months to be followed by his resignation.”

According to the statement, “the direct meaning of the false defamatory statements is that Professor Osinbajo is deceitful and that his characterisation of Osinbajo as a “stooge”suggests that he is complicit in a fraud against the Nigerian people.

“Professor Osinbajo is participating in a device that constitutes subterfuge and lacks integrity, in concert with others who you also characterise as evil, insensitive, wicked, selfish and desperate.

“Professor Osinbajo, who is a pastor, professor of law and Senior Advocate of Nigeria has engaged in conduct that is incompatible with his faith, role/ethics as a senior and respected lawyer

“We therefore demand immediate retraction of the offensive and derogatory publication and apology on four TV channels and four national newspapers circulating in all parts of Nigeria and damages in the sum of N2 billion.

Fani-Kayode Demands N5billion & Apology From Lai Mohammed Over Mental Disorder Comment

Femi Fani-Kayode, has issued a letter demanding an apology and N5billion damages ?from the Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, Lai Mohammed, ?for questioning his “mental state?”?.

Mr. Femi-Kayode’s letter dated March 3, through Whyte Prekunomaa of Ahmed Raji and Co, quoted Mr. Mohammed as saying, “We are seriously concerned that Mr. Fani-Kayode may have unhinged, perhaps as a result of a relapse into an unhealthy lifestyle of substance abuse. Our concern stems from the series of incoherent statements, outlandish claims and inconsistent behaviours exhibited by Mr. Fani-Kayode in recent times, which call into question his state of mental health.”

Fani-Kayode in a letter, addressed to Mr. Mohammed, denied he ever made such a statement. The letter titled, Re: Femi Fani-Kayode: We’re Concerned About Fani Kayode’s Mental Status, read in part: “Our client denies in its entirety the contents of the above publication and innuendoes therein, and further states that every allegation against him in the said publication is false and defamatory of his person and character…”

Chief Femi Fani-Kayode: The Naked Dance Of A Madman By Lanre Shadiya

Chief Femi Fani-Kayode is known in the Nigerian Political community in different ways depending on who you ask. Very few politicians and indeed popular Nigerians can challenge him to an oratory contest – he knows how to captivate people’s attention.
It is not everything that captivates attention that are true, valid or even make sense. As a boy, I was fascinated by the popular Ajantala fable each and every time the story was being told. Ajantala, as the story said, was a baby who on his 8th day, started talking clearly, ate one basket of Eko and also one basket of Akara, beat up the local priest who had come to name him (he named himself Ajantala!) mercilessly before eventually running away into the forest to rule the animals. All on his eighth day!
Like the story of Ajantala, Chief Fani-Kayode’s comments, analysis and public briefings have always received popular attention by both sides of the Nigerian political parties as well as the indifferent. Interestingly, just like the fable, his attention deriving outings have usually failed to make any sense. As a matter of fact, his utterances have demonstrated how emptily loaded his sense of judgment is. Chief Fani-Kayode has made a lot of comments that have been found to be either untrue, inflammatory, unpatriotic or all added together. I do not plan to enlist all of such here as I will be writing for years to fully capture all. The essence of this write up is Fani-Kayode’s recent claim or comment that a pact was signed by Prof. Yemi Osinbajo (APC VP) to hand over to Chief Bola Ahmed Tinubu after the former has won the March 28, 2015 election as the Vice President to General Mohammadu Buhari (Rtd).
I will like to clear some points here. I am a tenacious and unapologetic Buharist. I also believe in the competence and capability of Prof. Osinbajo. I do not see the APC as a political party of saints or angels. As far as I am concerned, there is no clear separation between it and the PDP. Chief Bola Ahmed Tinubu is perhaps Nigerians most maverick political gladiator and I have deep respect for him for the part he played in providing a strong opposition to PDP. However, I do not pray Asiwaju becomes the President or Vice President of Federal Republic of Nigeria.
According to Fani-Kayode “Tinubu, according to our information, has compelled Osinbajo to swear to an oath that after six months in office, he would resign as the vice president, in the unlikely event that their party wins. Credible pieces of information at our disposal indicate that Tinubu has perfected plans to come to power through the back door. The ultimate objective of this plot is to ensure that Tinubu becomes president”
I cannot even begin to imagine that this is a man that once occupied the office of a Minister in this country. Is it that Fani-Kayode is this shallow or is he so desperate to convince his principals? How a supposedly learned, 54 year old conjured such intellectually handicapped statement beats my imagination. It is unfortunate, catastrophic and totally insane that Chief Femi Fani-Kayode can utter such a combination of filthy, fallacious, befuddling and illusory sentence. The constitution of Nigeria section 146 subsection 3 states that;
Where the office of Vice-President becomes vacant:-
by reason of death or resignation, impeachment, permanent incapacity or removal in accordance with section 143 or 144 of this Constitution;
by his assumption of the office of President in accordance with subsection (1) of this section; or
for any other reason
the President shall nominate and, with the approval of each House of the National Assembly, appoint a new Vice-President.
It is safe to conclude that either Fani-Kayode has no knowledge about Nigeria’s constitution or he chose to formulate and communicate an illusion that is not only impossible but also lack the signature of a functional human mind. Neither of these two befits any logical thinking man. Alas! It is now obvious that Chief Femi Fani-Kayode does not read as vast as he always claim he does on national media. With the likes of Chief Femi Fani-Kayode around the corridors of power in Nigeria, it is little wonder that Nigeria, having only gained independence 15 days before Chief Fani-Kayode’s birth, is as confused as this author of “The Bitter Truth About The Igbo”

Tinubu Knows About Funsho Williams Murder And He Is A Vampire – Fani Kayode

Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, Director of Media and Publicity, PDP Presidential Campaign Organisation, has again attacked the APC and its national leader, Bola Tinubu, calling them ‘vampires’.

In a statement on Monday, Fani-Kayode said “whether the APC wishes me well or not, I shall live long and prosper. What they think about me is neither here nor there and I lose no sleep over it. It is only what God thinks about me that matters and they are not God. They do not like me and I do not like them and that is fine by me. We do not need to like each other and all we need to do is to meet in the field”.

Continuing he said, “rather than continuously talking about me and making infantile and primitive statements, they should spend their time praying for the soul of the late and great PDP leader, Chief Funso Williams, who would have been governor of Lagos state, who was mysteriously murdered a few years ago by a group of evil, power-hungry and callous men, and who was a formidable political adversary of Tinubu. We pray every day that God should avenge Funso Williams and bring those that killed him to justice.

“We suggest that the APC purge themselves of their obvious obsession with me and instead pray for the fortunes of their candidate, General Muhammadu Buhari because he is in trouble and he is surrounded by snakes and vampires. They should pray that God will keep General Buhari safe from the enemy within. The problem with the Tinubu wing of the APC is that they are so used to dishing out rubbish about other people that it has affected their minds and their ability to say anything reasonable or rational.

“The truth is that their leader, Tinubu belongs in a sanatorium for the mentally unbalanced and a maximum security prison for the power obsessed rather than in any political party. As for the quisling and minion called Lai Mohammed I refuse to respond to him unless and until he starts talking sense, cures himself of his chronic bad breath and desists from wearing pampers.

“The only people that are caving in under pressure here are the APC, their presidential candidate, General Buhari and their de facto leader Tinubu. The closer we get to March 28, the more they panic and the more falsehood and rubbish that they spew out. As I have said before, they have become prisoners of their own delusions and fantasies and victims of their own hallucinations. Tinubu, their de facto leader, should tell Nigerians why they should take him seriously after he was arrested on no less than two occasions by the American authorities for money laundering.

“On the first occasion, the arrest was for drug-related money laundering issues in Chicago and, on the second occasion, he was arrested for money laundering-related matters in Seattle, Washington whilst Tinubu was Governor of Lagos state. On both occasions he begged the authorities like a baby and was eventually forced to settle out of court with the American Justice Department by forfeiting a percentage of the money after a successful plea bargain.

APC Gives PDP 72 Hours to Retract Oath Taking Claim

The All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Organisation (APCPCO) has given the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and Femi Fani-Kayode 72 hours to show oath-taking evidence by its vice-presidential candidate to relinquish his position.

Alternatively, the organisation said that PDP and Fani-Kayode, who is its Presidential Campaign Organisation’s Director of Media and Publicity, should retract the libelous claim within the deadline.

This is contained in a statement issued by Mr Garba Shehu, Director of Media and Publicity of APCPCO on Monday in Abuja.

It stated that PDP, through Fani-Kayode, publicly announced that APC vice-presidential candidate in the forthcoming election, who is a learned professor of law and Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), swore an oath to vacate his seat after victory.

It stated that if PDP failed to show evidence of the oath-taking, it would be charged to a court of law.

According to the statement, PDP had claimed that the APC took an oath that Professor Yemi Osinbajo would resign for the National Leader of APC, Senator Bola Tinubu, to become vice-president if General Muhammadu Buhari wins the presidential election.

“This is an attack on the hard-won integrity and the reputations of these great Nigerians and APC stalwarts.

“We view this as both slanderous and libelous; therefore we will not leave the matter to chance. To this effect, we hereby give Femi Fani-Kayode and the PDP 72 hours to produce evidence.

“In the alternative, they should issue public apology to Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, Tinubu and our party, the APC or be prepared to be charged to the court of law,” the party said.

Fani Kayode Left APC Because We Refused To Protect Him From EFCC-Tinubu

Former Governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, has slammed former Minister of Aviation, Mr. Femi Fani-Kayode,accusing him of leaving the All Progressives Congress because the party refused to influence the EFCC to drop alleged money laundering charges against him.

Reacting to Kayode’s claims that Tinubu would take over from Osibanjo as vice president ,if they win,the former governor said in a statement…

“Bola Tinubu helped build the great platform for change; he wholeheartedly supports the APC ticket because he believes it is the last best hope to rescue Nigeria from the disaster Fani-Kayode and his ilk will want to continue.
“I pray Nigerians will not allow them to misgovern us a day past May 29. If Fani-Kayode pretends not to know of Tinubu’s efforts to build and support the APC, it comes as no surprise. Fani-Kayode tried before to be part of the party but left when he found out there was no room for his games. Because the APC could not help to free him from the EFCC and the aviation fraud, he ran away to the party that blocked the EFCC on his behalf.”

“That Fani-Kayode is the best a ruling party can present as a spokesman speaks volumes about the PDP. They are bereft of talent and character. They are filled with lies and chicanery. Fani-Kayode is simply the worst and most outspoken of a bad lot. However, we welcome his interventions. They are of such low quality and base character. His utterances frighten people but not in the way Fani-Kayode intended.

“Instead of scaring people away from the APC, his work scares people that someone so unfit is so close to the seat of power, someone so unhinged is given free rein to spit bile and call that public discourse. One must wonder who is unbalanced, the misfit or he who hires him. Keep at it Fani-Kayode. Continue!”

“Fani-Kayode is not as smart as he thinks. If you read between the lines of his hysteria, you see another extreme sentiment: that of surging desperation. His statement indicates that even he now realises that his paymaster has lost to Buhari/Osinbajo.

“The game is over. The whistle has blown. What the fantasy man seeks to do is change the game. He seeks to run against Tinubu in hopes the outcome will be better. Fani-Kayode now grasps at straws in the night wind.”

Group Offers To Sponsor Presidential Debate At Chatham House

A group, Wind of Hope, has offered a fresh platform for a presidential debate between the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Muhammadu Buhari, and President Goodluck Jonathan of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) on the political situation in the country, at Chatham House, London, United Kingdom.

National Coordinator of the group, Onoriode Akpe, in an open letter of invitation to Buhari, noted that the speech delivered in London by Buhari shows that he is more comfortable in London, hence, the need to take the debate there and give Nigerians the opportunity to watch the front runners in the forthcoming presidential election talk about their plans for the country.

“We wish to congratulate you on your recent visit to the United Kingdom where you delivered a speech at Chatham House, London on February 26, 2015. Your speech at the event is clearly a source of motivation for your supporters who in recent times seem to have lost steam in their aggressive marketing of your candidacy for the office of President,” the group wrote.

“In our quest to deepen democracy which thrives on robust and constructive deliberations that aid the electorate in making informed decisions, Wind of Hope hereby challenges or offers you a platform to debate with the incumbent, President Jonathan, before the forthcoming elections, at Chatham House, where you were so obviously at ease before your supporters and the international media.”

While offering full sponsorship, the group asked Buhari to “state your preferred date and time. Again, we wish to reiterate the import of such a debate in this election which you appropriately described as ‘Nigeria’s landmark election’ in your speech at Chatham House.”

Your Game is Over, Tinubu Tells Fani- Kayode

APC national leader, Bola Tinubu, has described Femi Fani-Kayode as a peddler of falsehood hired for a smear campaign against the party, its leader, and presidential candidates.

“Fani-Kayode is not as smart as he thinks. If you read between the lines of his hysteria you see another extreme sentiment: that of surging desperation,” Mr. Tinubu said in a statement issued on Sunday by his Special Adviser on Media, Sunday Dare.

“His statement indicates that even he now realizes that his pay master has lost to Buhari/Osinbajo. The game is over. The whistle has blown. What the fantasy man seeks to do is change the game. He seeks to run against Tinubu in hopes the outcome will be better. Fani now grasps at straw in the night wind.”

Fani-Kayode Suffering From “Substance Abuse”- Lai Mohammed

APC has said contrary to the information being peddled by the spokesman of the Jonathan Campaign Organization, Femi Fani-Kayode, the party does not wish him any ill health, even though it is seriously concerned about his mental state.

“No, we have never and will never wish anyone any ill health. However, we are seriously concerned that Mr. Fani-Kayode may have unhinged, perhaps as a result of a relapse into an unhealthy lifestyle of substance abuse,” the party said in a statement issued in Dubai on Monday by its National Publicity Secretary, Lai Mohammed.

“Our concern stems from the series of incoherent statements, outlandish claims and inconsistent behaviours exhibited by Mr. Fani-Kayode in recent times, which call into question his state of mental health.

“We wish Mr. Fani-Kayode well and call on him to tell Nigerians that he remains clean, despite the massive pressure of work, and that he will not do anything that will see him needing a prolonged reformation in a foreign land,” it said.

Tinubu Plots To Become President If APC Wins – PDP

The Peoples Democratic Party Presidential Campaign Organisation on Friday alleged that former Governor of Lagos State and national leader of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, forced the party’s vice presidential candidate, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, to swear to an oath to resign after six months in office, in the event the party wins the presidential election.

The PDPPCO stated that the move was part of the sinister plot by Tinubu to become the nation’s president through the back door.

The Director of Media and Publicity of the PDPPCO, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, while addressing a press conference in Abuja on Friday, said investigations have shown that Tinubu has sinister motives for the emergence of Osinbajo as the running mate of the party’s presidential candidate, General Muhammadu Buhari.

Fani-Kayode noted that, “The wicked plot, as laid out by them, is to force Prof. Osinbajo to resign for Senator Tinubu to be nominated by General Buhari as his replacement.

“The ultimate objective of this plot is to ensure that Tinubu becomes President.

“The script is simple: given the questionable health of General Buhari, Senator Tinubu who is desperate to be president for his own selfish reasons will simply bid his time in the evil expectation that General Buhari will not be able to go the whole hog.”

He stated that the reason the alliance between the defunct Action Congress of Nigeria and the Congress for Progressive Change could not work was the refusal of Pastor Tunde Bakare to resign as vice president for Tinubu to takeover from him.

OBJ Disowns Social Media Accounts, Denies Calling Fani-Kayode Democracy Wrecker

Former President, Olusegun Obasanjo, has dissociated himself from any socio-media account in his name, saying he does not operate any.

The former President was reacting to a twitter account, @newsvergeonline, which had posted a tweet on Sunday, claiming that Obasanjo had described the Director of Media and Publicity of the Peoples Democratic Party Presidential Campaign Organisation, Femi Fani-Kayode, as a “democracy wrecker.”

He said the fake tweet account with his name, Olusegun A. Obasanjo posted the story with the caption, “Fani-Kayode is a democracy wrecker, who’s very fluent in stupidity. Give him food, and he will sing and do “shoki” dance for you.”

Dismissing the twitter account, he explained that all his previous accounts on either Facebook or Twitter had long been blocked.

Soludo, Fayemi and Fani-Kayode: My Takeaway By Iyabo Obasanjo

Professor Soludo’s article on the elections in Nigeria is the best writing I have read recently on the real situation politically and economically in Nigeria.

The well-articulated response from Dr. Fayemi compared to the abuse infused response from Femi Fani-Kayode on the PDP side is a great example of the contrast of the status-quo compared to the alternative.

Whatever the case and I don’t expect miracles form APC but right now they have more thinking people than the PDP.  As a Yoruba person, Dr. Fayemi’s response is how we expect our educated elite to take up issues and not the mad rantings of Fani-Kayode.

I agree with most of his premise but I do not think they (APC) can take up a massive public works program in a period of “famine” i.e. low oil prices.

During the great depression when Roosevelt used public works to help provide jobs, it was the stock market that failed i.e. Government revenue was affected from tax income but income from exportation which was then mainly agricultural goods was not affected.

The best part of Dr. Fayemi’s response is that it is not elite focused.  Nigerian governance as I saw it was not a democracy but an elitocracy.  Govt of the elite by the elite for the elite and even if you grew up in near death poverty once you left those circumstances you forgot where you came from and concentrated on your immediate family and matters affecting the wellbeing of the elite. The government could use money from its coffers to create jobs and provide skills and training, which people could then use in the private sector.

Changing this perspective to make the elite understand that their wellbeing was in fact dependent on the wellbeing of the masses will be APC’s challenge.

They are sourcing from the same pool of elite talent that every Nigerian government has to source from and it is this pool that essentially has to be different or we will find ourselves again at precipice as usual.

Gusau Did Not Attend Katsina College With Buhari- PDP

Presidential Campaign Organisation, PCO of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Sunday, declared as false media report that the Minister of Defence, General Aliyu Gusau said that General Muhammadu Buhari passed his Cambridge/WASCE examination in 1961 and that they attended Katsina College together.

In a statement by the Director of Media and Publicity of PDP Presidential Campaign Organisation, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, the report was part of what he described as opposition propaganda and desperate bid to cover “the wrongdoing of their presidential candidate whose integrity they have so much flaunted.

“It has been brought to our attention that a number of online publications and newspapers have published a false story suggesting that General Aliyu Gusau, the Minister of Defence, has defended General Buhari on the certificate issue and has said that they attended Katsina College together. “This is pure falsehood and crass disinformation, and it is indicative of the type of shameless desperation and propaganda that the opposition are now indulging in.

“Not only did General Gusau not attend any school with General Buhari or go to Katsina College but he has also never sought to defend or absolve him in the ongoing controversy about his school certificate.

“We urge the Nigerian people to be very wary of the antics of the opposition when it comes to this and virtually all other matters; and, we encourage them to continue to insist that General Buhari should stop clutching at straws and prove that he is the man of integrity that he claims to be by producing his school certificate.

“Anything less than that is simply unacceptable and all the filthy lies, tricks and dirty tactics in the world cannot help him.”

We will not Respond to Fani-Kayode’s Provocative Statements – APC

The All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Organisation (APCPCO) has said that it prefers not to respond to the provocations of the director of media and publicity of the PDP Presidential Campaign, Mr Femi Fani-Kayode.

A statement by the director of media and publicity of the APCPCO, Mallam Garba Shehu, yesterday said it was laughable that the PDP would not let-go of the educational qualifications of the APC presidential candidate, General Muhammadu Buhari, even when the matter has been exhaustively laid to rest. “It is not our desire in the APC presidential campaign organisation to join an individual who has a record of talking to please the moment on any petty issue.

Warn Your Supporters, we will Hold you Responsible if Any Thing Happens to Jonathan, Fani- Kayode to Buhari

Following attack on the Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, President Goodluck Jonathan, the party’s Campaign Organisation has accused the Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, General Muhammadu Buhari, rtd as the mastermind of the act, just as it urged him to call his supporters to order.

Addressing Journalists in Abuja yesterday, Director, Media and Publicity, PDP Presidential Campaign Organisation, PCO, Chief Femi Fani- Kayode who described the act in Katsina, Buhari’s home state as despicable, barbaric, shameful and highly reprehensible, warned that Buhari would be held responsible if anything untoward happens to the President, adding that a repeat of such an act, the consequences would be grave.

Fani- Kayode warned, “Let us take this opportunity to also serve them notice that if anything untoward happens to our candidate or his supporters during the course of this campaign we shall hold Buhari and his party responsible and the consequences would be grave, And unimaginable and far-reaching. Meanwhile we call on our millions of supporters all over the country to remain calm and not to indulge in any form of violence or revenge attacks despite this massive and unwarranted provocation.”
