Democratic Peoples Party (DPP), has endorsed the incumbent President Goodluck Jonathan as its presidential candidate in the upcoming March 28 elections.

According to the report, the DPP also cautioned the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to be realistic in the outcome of its test run of the card reader machine for permanent voters’ cards (PVCs).

It stated that the party also urged INEC not to go ahead with using the card readers in the coming elections if hitches were noticed during the test run.

Also speaking during a press briefing held in Abuja to make the announcement, the former presidential candidate of the DPP, Otunba Owolabi Odebudo, who had to step down for President Jonathan, also called on the INEC to assure Nigerians that the process of accrediting voters with the card reader machine would be completed in a shorter time than the manual method in order to justify its use.
