The All Progressives Congress (APC) will have to approves the list of ministers to be appointed into the Federal Executive Council (FEC) before presentation to the National Assembly. The party with the proposed approval seeks to restore its supremacy in the running of the affairs of the country.

The party is trying to avoid the pitfalls which led to the collapse of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). A prominent northern leader of the party, who disclosed this, said the party would not allow personal interests of individuals take  precedence over the general interest of the party and the people.

He noted that under the APC government, there is no way the First Lady would have the freedom to interfere in the party affairs to the level of dictating who got nominated and who did not.
