Forty-eight hours after the presiding officer of the rescheduled House of Assembly poll in Bayelsa State gave victory to the candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in the Brass Constituency II election, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has upturned the verdict.
The commission on Tuesday declared the election as inconclusive.
Timidi Wariowe, the Public Relations Officer of INEC in the state, said the suspension of the result was due to the conflicting declarations by the Returning Officer and the circumstances surrounding the declaration.
In the declared result, the All Progressives Congress (APC) came second and the Labour Party third. The ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state was declared a distance fourth.
