The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the April 11 gubernatorial election in Lagos State, Jimi Agbaje is challenging the victory of Akinwunmi Ambode of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the poll.

Agbaje has filed a petition at the State Election Tribunal. The petition was filed on April 30 by Agbaje’s lawyers. Agbaje is contesting Ambode’s victory on three grounds.

Joined along with Ambode in the petition are the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the APC and INEC’s Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) for Lagos State, Akin Orebiyi. Agbaje had previously congratulated Ambode on his victory in the election.
