Buhari, Abdusalami Meet In Aso Rock

President Muhammadu Buhari and former military Head of State Gen. Abdusalami Abubakar met yesterday in a closed-door meeting at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Abdusalami arrived at the State House at 3.30p.m for the meeting, which lasted for about 30 minutes.

He declined to speak with State House correspondents at the end of the meeting.

Mu’azu Begs IBB, Abdusalami To Intervene

The embattled Niger State governor, Dr Muazu Babangida Aliyu has prevailed on former military President General Ibrahim Babangida and former Head of State, General Abdulsalami Abubakar to save him from the threat to impeach him from office.

The governor decided to seek the intervention of the two elder statesmen from the state after attempts to pacify the lawmakers failed.

The governor has equally reached out to the state traditional council led by its chairman, Etsu Nupe Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar to save him from the imminent disgrace.

The state House of Assembly has issued a notice of impeachment on the governor for not carrying the lawmakers along in the running of the state.

LEAKED: Jonathan Sends Mbeki, Abdusalami To Beg Buhari

Former South African President, Thabo Mbeki and Former Nigerian Military Head of State, General Abdulsalami Abubakar Monday, stormed Kaduna to meet with the Presidential Candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC), General Muhammadu Buhari over the forth coming general elections.

At the end of the meeting which was held behind closed doors at General Buhari’s office along Jabi Road in an eyebrow area of Kaduna metropolis Monday morning, neither the visitors, nor General Buhari spoke with newsmen.

Mbeki and Abdulsalami left to the Kaduna International Airport to fly back to Abuja after a photo session which marked the end of the over one hour meeting.

However, a source close to General Buhari told our Correspondent that, the meeting was unconnected with the Presidential election rescheduled for March 28.

According to the source who spoke unofficially said, “They are here to prevail on General Buhari not to probe Jonathan after emerging President in the coming election.”
