APGA Party Members To Defect To PDP ? Legal Adviser Reveals Stand On 2015 Elections

Mr Ifeanyi Mbaeri, the Legal Adviser to the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), said mass defection of persons from one party to another will not make the nation a one-party affair.

Mbaeri made the statement in an interview on Thursday in Abuja.

“It will not make the nation a one party affair, looking at the current environment defection that has become more pronounced in the build-up to the general elections.’’

He said just like people were moving from other parties to PDP, others from the party also moved to other parties including APGA.

He said this was caused basically by lack of political ideology in the country, “which we all know is the current trend.”

According to Mbaeri, “It is sad that APGA suffered it by losing lots of governors who went to another party with our mandate; same with some members of national assembly.’’

On why APGA was not presenting a presidential candidate for the 2015 election, he said the party wanted the incumbent president to complete another four years.

Why I Am #TeamBuhari By Osifeko Mark Olaniyi

I can’t carry guns to lead a revolution neither can I afford to continue to watch my dear country go down the drain due to massive looting, corruprtion or” mere stealing” as our dear president called it but in my little capacity I am constitutionally empowered to campaign, vote and be voted for so I am not infringing on any one’s right by declaring for Buhari. I voted for GEJ in 2011 based on sentiments though I now regret doing that. I am now 4 years older so I won’t repeat thesame mistake.

IS BUHARI TRULY CREDIBLE?
I was born in the mid 80s so I was not yet born when Buhari ruled this country as a Military president. Thank God for history because through it we have learnt about our past leaders in this country. History has shown that GMB had zero tolerance for corruption which is evident in the way he has lived his life since leaving office. He is the only past surviving ex- president of this country that has not been linked to any financial scandal which is very rare considering the amount of wealth at their disposal. He is also the only one that has not supported the 16 years nose-diving of our country since independence by sacrificially contesting againt the govt at the centre at the expense of the juicy contract his cohorts are getting.

IS GEJ NOT TRYING?
For those who are of this school of thought, I will like to ask you, will you give your house to a contractor who inflates the price exhorbitantly without an assurance of quality? This is the perfect scenario of what GEJ is doing with public funds. Wasting so much to get little. Is that the way to go? GEJ has successfully raised economic rats(looters) that are now immune to rat poison(EFCC and the Judiciary) at the expense of the growth and development of our dear nation Nigeria. Is this the type of leaders we need to move our nation from a developing country to a developed one? The sure answer is no. I don’t want to grow up to tell my children stories of why their country is still developing after over 50 years of independence.
Let’s have a rethink before we fall for another window dressed, sentimental and incompetent president in 2015.

Wike, Chukwu And Others Pick Governorship Forms

Three former ministers who served under the regime of President Goodluck Jonathan have picked the Peoples Democratic Party governorship forms to enable them to contest the party’s primaries in their respective states.

The former ministers are the former Minister of State for Niger Delta, Mr. Darius Ishaku; a former Minister of Health, Prof. Onyebuchi Chukwu, and a former Minister of State for Education, Mr. Nyesom Wike.

The ministers were among the seven who resigned their appointments on Monday to contest governorship seats of their respective states.

While Ishaku is aspiring to be the governor of Taraba State, Chukwu and Wike are contesting for the same position in Ebonyi and River states respectively.

Ishaku told journalists after paying the mandatory N11m nomination fee at the party’s national headquarters in Abuja that he remained the consensus candidate from the southern part of the state.

Buhari Will Serve Only One Term Like Mandela – APC Chieftain

An All Progressives Congress, APC, chieftain, Rotimi Fashakin, has disclosed a pledge made by former Head of State and presidential aspirant, General Muhammadu Buhari (rtd.) to serve only one term of four years if he emerges the nation’s President in 2015.

Fashakin, who served as the National Publicity Secretary of the now rested Congress for all Progressives Change, stated on Sunday that Buhari would do for Nigeria what the late Nelson Mandela did for South Africa.

He gave the reason behind Buhari’s fourth shot at the presidency as being to rescue Nigeria from corruption, stabilize it and then hand over to a younger person, who has the capacity to lead the country.

I Did Not Endorse Buhari For Presidential Ticket Saraki Says

Contrary to unconfirmed reports that he may have thrown his weight behind the aspiration of former head of state, General Muhammadu Buhari (rtd), Senator Bukola Saraki said he not endorsed any of the aspirants seeking the presidential ticket under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Senator Saraki’s clarification came on the heels of a newspaper report on Monday.

He was touted as possible director-general of General Buhari’s campaign in the report.

But Saraki, through his campaign office, has denied the report insisting that he was still consulting on his next line of action regarding the endorsement of any of the aspirants.

A statement from his media team said: “Our office will like to clear the air concerning the above. Senator Saraki, indeed, met with other aspirants as it relates to getting our country back on the right path.

“Senator Saraki is convinced that all candidates are committed to presenting candidates that will be acceptable by all. At this time, Senator Saraki has not endorsed any aspirant.

Buhari: I Will Run In 2015

Retired General Muhammadu Buhari yesterday said he will run in the 2015 presidential race on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

“With your support, I intend to offer myself for the position of the president of the republic on the platform of our great party,” Buhari told a group of supporters in Abuja yesterday.

This is the first time the former head of state will categorically say he will throw hit hat into the ring again—his fourth presidential bid since 2003.

Buhari, 71, had said in the run up to the 2011 elections that he would not be running for president again after that because age would not be on his side.

But it has been apparent over the past two years that he will backpedal, as he had been in the forefront of efforts to build the APC as a main challenger for the ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

His associates and supporters had also been persuading him to take another shot as they see him as the only candidate who can muster enough votes to successfully challenge the PDP in next year’s elections.
