The Archbishop of Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, on Thursday visited Nigeria’s president Muhammadu Buhari at the Abuja House in London.
Welby is the 105th Archbishop of Canterbury and the most senior bishop in the Church of England.
“Very pleased to welcome the Most Revd and Rt Hon @JustinWelby, Archbishop of Canterbury, to Abuja House this afternoon,” he said on Twitter.
Buhari left Nigeria in January for London to “undergo routine medical check-ups” during a short holiday. But there has been no definite answer from the presidency regarding the exact date of his expected return to the country after the expiration of the initial 10 days he sought to stay away.
But the president said in a statement on February 21 that there was no cause for worry and thanked Nigerians for the prayers.
