In 2013, Anulika was diagnosed with breast cancer, the same year that she got married and was preparing for her finals in medical school. chemotherapy seasions started immediately.She was determined to graduate with her class and even went for some of her final exams straight from the ward, IV line and all. The chemo was concluded followed by a course of radiation in order to shrink the tumour for it to be taken out. Before scheduled surgery, it was discovered that the tumour had disssapeared.

The cancer was gone. She was in the clear.
On February 2016 she noticed a lump in her neck, her doctor suggested a full work up in India to be sure of what it was . The PET scan showed the cancer was back and has spread to her brain, bones and liver. she had surgery to take out the one in her neck and breast and was put on chemotherapy again. Her treatment has just been reviewed again this month in India, The doctors have now changed her medication as they are not happy with the progress of the previous one.

This chemotherapy medication cost $92,250 ($15,375 per session) and she needs a total of six sessions for complete treatment. 
All this time kika has been strong, she has never let this illness bring her down. She still has a lot to achieve , a whole life ahead of her and she’s yet to start her family. Her Husband has done so much and has been strong for her too. Cancer has been in the way for too long.
