The Akwa Ibom State government have cleared the air on a reported disagreement between them and the construction company handling the Uyo Stadium edifice.
The local media in Uyo had sounded an alarm that the Akwa Ibom Governor Emmanuel Udom had cancelled the contract of Julius Berger who built the stadium and are saddled to maintain the edifice.
The development had elicited fears that the venue for Saturday’s game is under threat but that has now been dispelled by the Director of Sports in Akwa Ibom State Aniedi Disckson who spoke with FCNaija.com on Wednesday in Uyo.
“There is no truth in that, I can assure you that everything is on track” Mr Dickson stated.
Nigeria’s Super Eagles will walk onto the pitch of the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium on Saturday on superior ground against the Fennecs of Algeria.
Victory on Saturday will keep Nigeria in front in the race to qualify for Russia 2018.
