Akwa Ibom Oil Mogul, Dr. Friday Antai dumps PDP for APC.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Okobo Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State has lost a major pillar and financier, Dr. Friday Antai, to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Accordingly, he has been appointed into the APC State Caucus.

Speaking shortly after his inauguration into the caucus in Uyo on Friday, Dr. Antai promised to work assiduously for the victory of the APC in Okobo and Oro Nation as a whole.

To this end, the mogul, who was the PDP chief agent in Okobo in the 2015 governorship and House of Assembly elections, said he has started a massive grassroots mobilization for the APC.

He commended President Muhammadu Buhari for the appointments given prominent APC leaders including Obong Umana Umana, the Managing Director of Oil and Gas Free Zones Authority, Obong Nsima Ekere, the Managing Director of Niger Delta Development Commission and Engr. Ben Ukpong, Akwa Ibom’s representative in the National Population Commission.

Dr. Antai, a pastor, served as the Board Chairman of Akwa Ibom Rural Water and Sanitation Agency (AKRUWATSAN) and Chairman of the Governing Council of the Akwa Ibom State College of Education, Afaha Nsit, in the government of former Governor Victor Attah.

Before establishing his own company, Basam Global Resources Limited, he had worked as Head of Operations at Ocean and Oil (now Oando) and Deputy Head of Operations in Nigeria for Intels Nigeria Limited.
