The National President of APC Youth League, Comrade Atir Solomon Faeren has condemned the wanton and unwarranted killing of APC members in Rivers State. Responding to news men in Abuja, the National President condemned the assassination of Hon.Boris Neenwi and three others, all APC members on the 3rd of October, 2016, in Ogoni,Rivers State.
In a Press Statement by the Chief Press Secretary/Information Officer, Hon.Marshall Israel, the National President described the killing as barbaric, gruesome and demonic. Comrade Atir Solomon called on the Inspector General Of Police(IGP), Director General Of The State Security Services(DSS) and other security agencies to investigate the incidents and bring the culprits to book.
The heinous and crude killing of APC members in Rivers State is politically motivated and driven by the insidious objectives of instilling fear in the rank of the opposition, silence every voice of reason and stifle opposition in Rivers State. The murder of Hon.Boris Neenwi and three others is perhaps the height of impunity which is now an everyday way of life in Rivers State. The current government in Rivers State has a primary responsibility of protecting lives and properties no matter the political persuasion of who is involved.
Also, the National President urged President Muhammadu Buhari and the National leadership of The All Progressives Congress not to abandon Rivers APC members. Our members are being killed, beheaded and roasted alive in Rivers State. Some have been jailed and incarcerated by Governor Nyesom Wike-led government. We must not keep quiet and watch them die for nothing but their belief in Change. We have lost enough members; enough of this nonsense, we felt hundred of our members who lost their lives during 2015 election was enough for the needed sacrifice but can’t understand why our members are been chase around like rats under the very APC controlled government. The National President warned that henceforth APC Youth League will not condone any assassination of any of our members again.
