Minister of Niger Delta affairs, Usani Uguru Usani, has said the public expectation on President Muhammadu Buhari is high.
Usani said this when he received a pressure group, Save Nigeria-Buhari Ambassadors, who came to offer solution to the crises in Niger Delta to the Minister.
Earlier presenting a blueprint for curbing Niger Delta Crises to the Minister the Save Nigeria-Buhari Ambassadors, led by its national coordinator, Hon. Jazeel Jamil Ibrahim, said the group was interested in preventing further deterioration of law, peace and order in the Niger Delta region.
“Save Nigeria-Buhari Ambassadors (SNBAs) seeks a creative and critical synergy with the Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs, towards creating a constituency of peace agents for Niger Delta,” the group stated.
In his remarks, the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Usani Uguru Usani, disclosed that the expectations of the people and all party men from the present administration was high. He assured that the current hardship caused by the activities of oil and gas pipeline vandals in the country would not last.
“There is a rescue that has come to Nigeria, despite the hardship. In no distant time, everyone will appreciate why the foundation being laid by this administration is taking a longer time,” he stressed.
The Minister reiterated that the blueprint submitted by the Save Nigeria-Buhari Ambassadors would be looked into by the appropriate authorities, for possible collaboration with the Pressure Group, towards ending the crises in the oil rich Niger Delta region.
Usani enjoined all Nigerians to support the Federal Government in its bid to bring the country to a more appreciable economic success.
Highlights of the Blueprint submitted by the SNBAs to the Minister includes, the promotion of an attitudinal change in favour of a peaceful coexistence between the youth of various ethnic, political and religious groups; and encouraging the youth to see themselves as part of national development agenda, rather than taking to social vices.
