Police Arrest Father Who Chained Son For Weeks

Pastor Francis Taiwo, who chained his nine-year-old boy for several weeks to a wood in the premises of a church he heads, has been arrested by the police.
The news had earlier broken of the rescue of the nine-year-old by an official of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC from the Ajibawo area of Ado-Odo/Ota church where he was locked down.

The father had reportedly chained him inside the premises of the Key of Faith parish of the Celestial Church of Christ (CCC) at Ajibawo in the Ado-odo/ Ota area of Ogun about six weeks ago until relief came in the early hours of Saturday.
The NSCDC rescued the boy after a tip-off by neighbours. He was accused of stealing, especially soup from their cooking pot, by his stepmother named Kehinde, who had also been arrested, and was subsequently chained in his hand and legs and padlocked to a wood.
The father fled after the boy’s rescue, but luck ran out on him yesterday when the Police caught up with him, according to the Police spokesman, Muyiwa Adejobi, who revealed that Pastor Francis who hails from Benin Republic but born in Otta, Ogun State, into the same Celestial Church, was ordained as a pastor in 2012.
According to police investigation, the pastor confirmed that he chained Korede because he felt he’s possessed and he’s not comfortable  with his stealing habit.
