World dance day has been celebrated on the 29th of April every year through promotion by the International Dance Council (CID), an organisation within UNESCO for all Genres of dance. Among the goals of the World Dance Day are to increase the awareness of the importance of dance among the general public as well as provide a proper place for dance in all system of education from primary to higher levels and that is why The Lagos Based Soft Gang Empire has decided to introduce *Dirty-Dance* in the country and the entertainment industry to give Dance a new face and also to make dance an integral part of the country’s/entertainment system.
Dance as we all know is an old time skill that is inbuilt in individuals. This old time skill has won many laurels of people in the past and present and has different forms ranging from Hip hop, Tango , cha cha, ball room etc. Dance as a form of art has put people on the map of History in Different times of the Human Existence and different new modern day styles are created and are being Marketed By Massive companies around the world using dance as a publicity tool for Pushing their Brands and Products. It is in this light that we see dance as a profession and a means of livelihood.
It is in this backdrop, that dirty dance which is a baby of the dance industry emanated to let people know dancers have a future and dance is a means of livelihood for many in Developed nations.
The essence is firstly to correct the impression of people that the art of dancing is for Those who can’t have successful professional careers and touts.
Secondly, it is to clean the rout associated with the dance industry which has put a bad light that is evident to the psyche of people. In doing this, we intend to let people know that dancing is for responsible individuals with goals or vision.
In addition, we intend to use “Dirty Dance” as a medium to affect the society as part of our social responsibility input as we team up with LAWMA to clean our environment and also use it is as a premise to clean the rubbish in dance industry which are numerous and must be cleaned up so as to give the dance industry the honour it deserves.
This will give the youths(dancers) the opportunity to arrive at the various goals they have been willing to achieve as dancers.
DirtyDance is here to affect the public positively and we vow to keep up to your expectations. This can only be achieved by your cooperation as we know that is the only way forward
Soft gang intends using this medium to send message to our youths who are tilting to dance, that they can make a living out of dance going by the passion they have for it.
So the philosophy behind this is why not use your passion to make a living than waste around without nothing to show for it.
We therefore crave the support of all and sundry to make it happen.
