The Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association has commended the Federal Government in curtailing insurgency in the North east.
The National President of the association, Alhaji Kiruwa Zuru, made the commendation in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Birnin Kebbi on Wednesday.
Zuru hailed the federal government for curbing bomb attacks on the people and cattle rustling.
He stressed that cattle breeders had sustained a great loss in their businesses sequel to the reduction in cattle rustling.
He commended the commitment of President Muhammadu Buhari in efforts to ensure peace and unity nationwide that had encouraged social and economic activities of the people.
He also praised the federal government for efforts in establishing grazing areas that was aimed at ending the clash between farmers and cattle breeders.
Zuru said the association had commenced conduct of election of officials in state chapters.
“We have so far conducted elections in Kwara and Sokoto states and the elections would be conducted in each of the 36 states of the federation,” he said.
He called on members of the association to enrol their children into schools to acquire western education with Islamic education.
He also stressed that the association would support parents on the education of their children.
He appealed to state governors to encourage peaceful coexistence between farmers and cattle breeders by ending clashes between the two groups.
