DPC Suspends Kogi Gov Candidate

The National Working Committee (NWC) of Democratic People’s Congress (DPC) has suspended the party’s governorship candidate in Kogi State, Hon. Philip Ezekiel Koleola indefinitely.

His suspension followed a petition from the party’s Kogi State Chapter against the governorship candidate who was accused of gross anti-party activities.

DPC National Chairman, Rev. Olusegun Peters, yesterday said the NWC had ratified his suspension by the Kogi State chapter of the party.
Rev.Peters said a disciplinary committee would be set up to look into his anti-party activities during the governorship election in the state.
He said the committee would also look into his purported decision to go to court in collaboration with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate, Idris Wada to challenge the INEC directive to All Progressives Congress (APC) to substitute the late Abubakar Audu, its candidate in the  inconclusive election.

“Having reviewed the political quagmire in Kogi State, DPC has resolved not to challenge INEC’s decision in court in the interest of the nation. The party disowns any legal action taken by its suspended governorship candidate, Hon. Philips Ezekiel Koleola.

“As a mass movement, DPC shall at all times promote democratic ideals and ethos that will deepen and strengthen our political process,” he added.
