President Muhammadu Buhari has ordered the mass retirement of permanent secretaries. Reports have it that no fewer than 17 permanent secretaries were asked to go.

Mr. Buhari made the decision known to the permanent secretaries during a meeting in his office at the presidential villa a few minutes ago.

At the meeting were Chief of Staff to the President Abba Kyari and the Head of Civil Service of the Federation.

This is coming ahead of the swearing-in of the ministers-designate scheduled for tomorrow.
