The Election petition tribunal sitting in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital, has upheld the election of Senate President, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, as the duly elected Senator representing Kwara Central constituency.

Abdulrahman Abdulrasak of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) had challenged Saraki’s victory at the tribunal.

The Justice Josiah Majebi-led three-man tribunal said the petition by the PDP candidate was baseless and that the evidence provided lacked merit.
