Kenneth Omeruo appointed Super Eagles’ vice-captain

Kenneth Omeruo has been named the vice-captain of the Super Eagles, for this weekend’s AFCON 2017 tie against Tanzania.

The team will be captained by Ahmed Musa, in the absence of goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama, who is bereaved and John Mikel Obi, who was dropped from the squad.

Omeruo, who now plays his football at Turkish club Kasimpasa on loan from Chelsea, is expected to partner William Troost-Ekong in defence as he has featured in all three games so far in the Turkish League.
