29-year-old Real Madrid defender, Sergio Ramos, has shut down speculations of moving to Manchester United this summer  after signing a deal to stay with the club until 2020.

In a statement,  he said…

“I know this renewal has taken a while but my heart and head have always been with Real Madrid so I couldn’t be happier,” explained Ramos at a press conference on Monday, standing alongside Perez.

“Whatever the press want to say I respect but the reality is a bit different.

“I have never said I wanted to leave Real Madrid, my idea was to always be here and I always wanted to retire here.

“Honestly, if it was an economic decision I wouldn’t have stayed. It wasn’t a question of money.

“I was quiet. I never said anything out of respect for my team-mates. I want to stay here for the rest of my career.”

Ramos joined Madrid from Sevilla in 2005 and has won La Liga three times, the Copa del Rey twice and the 2014 Champions League during his time at the Bernabeu.
