Report that the sum of N150 million disappeared at the Government House, Minna, has been denied and described as “ignorant and malicious”. This was revealed in a statement signed by the Senior Special Assistant, ICT (Government House), Mr. Abdulbaqi Usman Ebbo.
This is coming as a result of a revelation credited to the Publicity Secretary of the state chapter of APC, Mr. Jonathan Vatsa in the online portal, The Eagle Online. According to Mr. Ebbo, “while one is still in doubt of Mr. Vatsa’s intention for such malicious sensationalism, the Office of the Chief of Staff, Hon. Mikhail Bmitosahi which it seeks to also undermine, was in no doubt taken aback and embarrassed by such show of indignity by the man on whom many depend for verifiable information about the course and direction of the APC in Niger State.”
Mr. Vatsa’s claim that Governor Bello was also aware of the missing money incident was also dismissed by the SSA who clarified that,
“no amount of money of that size has been allocated to any unit since Governor Abubakar Sani Bello assumed power as Governor of Niger State on May 29, 2015.” And then added, “The period between then and now was dedicated to clearing the mess of the past administration, in which all units and agencies within and outside Government House have been actively involved.”
As for whether the state chapter of the APC authorized Mr. Vatsa’s revelation which was meant to be a position of the party, the statement quoted the party chairman, Engr. Muhammad Jibril Imam as saying he was not in the know of the missing money incident and that the party did not issue any statement in reaction to that, as claimed by Mr. Vatsa.
