Captain Idris Wada, has decided to run for second a term, following, “several months of persuasion and pressure mounted” by the elders of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and other relevant stakeholders in the state.
The governor yesterday, formally declared his ambition to contest the state governorship election slated for November 21, this year.
Captain Wada in his acceptance speech said he had appreciated in the last few weeks that, “before elders speak, they must have employed experience, patience, candour and courage.”
He pledged to surpass the people’s expectations, “God helping me,” if re-elected.
The governor, who addressed a well-attended meeting comprising notable PDP leaders in the state, commended the elders for their support for his administration.
