Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, on Friday, reaffirmed Federal Government’s commitment to end Boko Haram insurgency while paying a visit to the families and victims of Gombe central market double bomb explosions that occurred Thursday.
He said, “As we mourn with the victims of terror, let it be known that we will not rest until this evil is defeated, God helping us. The life of any Nigerian is worth that resolve and determination. Although the terrorists started this, we as a people together willNend it,” Osinbajo said in Gombe while. This morning when we paid the President Sallah homage, he asked me to come to Gombe to commiserate with the people, the Emir and governor of Gombe over the terrible incident that happened. He said I should let them know that we are with them; we heard about the death of men, women and children and we feel your pains. People should be rejoicing in celebration of Sallah but instead they are mourning; it is unfortunate. The business of government as Mr. President has said so often is the protection of lives and property and to give everybody a good opportunity. I salute the braveness of Gombe people. In spite of the unfortunate incident they are still in the market. This is because they know, it is only God that can protect them, men can only do their best.”
